I have dealt with this branch for years. Particularly the lawn equipment area. They carry commercial grade equipment which is what I buy. They also carry consumer grade products and are competitive with the big box stores. What makes Elliot's so much better than the typical big box is when you buy from them, it's set up and running properly. They also service the equipment they sell. I just took a Stihl trimmer in that I bought from them back in 2006. Also took a backpack blower made by Echo in the 90's in. Just picked up the trimmer and used it and it runs like new. Before Bryan(the mechanic) repaired it, he called me and went over what was needed. Very knowledgeable guy. In addition to lawn equipment, they have all the hardware stuff too and a heck of a grilling section too. Great place! read more

Why do I love you, Elliot's hardware? 1. You have old guys with names like Ernie and Vern who are willing to share the knowledge they have gained over the years with young whippersnappers like me. 2. Even the big boys(Lowes and Home Depot) direct me to your store if I cant find something there. 3. A selection of fastners(nuts and bolts, etc) that puts anyone else to shame. 4. Still has almost a family store feel. 5. A hardware store that has a bank inside-I love this place! I went to the location in Plano several years ago because they carried some items that neither Home Depot or Lowes carried. I was impressed with the size of the store and the great selection of products carried. I live in Fairview and was pleasantly surprised when Elliots announced they were opening a store in Fairview. Unfortunately, the store in Fairview is about 25% of what is offered in Plano. Many times I have stopped by for a simple, common item only to discover they did not carry it. Yesterday I needed a simple sprinkler part. I stopped by the store at 8:45 am and there was a note on the door stating they did not open until 9am. Deciding it would take me 15 minutes to make the trip to Home Depot and back, I decided to wait. Guess what, they didn't have the part. A question I have is why would a hardware store open so late? Workers need to buy the items needed early to be able to get to work before the summer heat gets too bad. The note on the door might as well have read, "Don't shop here". And I won't. read more

Went to Elliot's in Mesquite last week with a photo of my leaking outdoor faucet, I have gotten ballpark estimates of 100 to 150 dollars to repair or replace, Steve in plumbing helped me, knew just what was needed to fix the leaking faucet and for the price of a new washer ( less than 5 dollars ) and his free advice , its as good as new in about 5 minutes. I've been to Elliot's twice and had a great experience. First time was for some heavy duty door hinges & was greeted when I walked through the door and although they didn't have the particular hinges in stock, they checked their Dallas store & they had it & the amount of hinges that I needed to complete the job. As soon as I arrived at the Dallas store, they were ready & I was out the door in no time. We'd been to Lowe's & HD without any luck previously. While I was at the store on the first visit, I noticed they had a ton of high end Weber grills & I checked them out. While I wasn't in the market for one at the time, I kept them in mind for the future purchase. Well, 8 months later my grill finally gave out & I searched Home Depot, Ace & True Value for the best price & stock and none of them had them. I called Elliot's and spoke to Joyce & it was in stock. She said she'd have it ready & when I arrived, it was ready on the cart to go as well as a little extra. She even helped me load it! Great service! The only downside is that there's not one closer to LH area but when I mentioned that, they said they might be opening one nearby in Casa Linda!!! Hopefully soon!!! read more

I do not understand this place. Everyone kept telling me I should go there and I have been twice. The people are grumpy and don't really seem to want to help people. The first time I went the guy treated me like I was dumb and tried to flirt with me... The second time I tried to go on checked the Internet for the time and when I got there they were closed ten minutes before they were supposed to be... I just needed one thing that would have taken 2 min to get and now will have to take time I do not have out of my schedule to go their later! This is horrible customer service! read more

Went here as mandated by Troy-Bilt as my trimmer stopped working. They blamed it on the gas oil mixture. I used the oil that came with the trimmer exactly as instructed. Not only wouldn't they repair it but got charged a $40 estimation fee. Won't go there again! read more

if you need a mower repaired, don't waste your time going here. went in yesterday and talked with a girl at the service desk, who every time I asked her a question, she had to go find someone, then come back and relay what she found out. I asked her if I could just tale directly with a tech and she said no, that's my job ? never really figure out what her job was. then they told me that they are 4-5 weeks behind. they should fire the girl that does nothing and hire more service techs. read more
