I love the fact that it's an old school hardware store. They are open 365 days a year. The customer service is outstanding. I just enjoy the neighborhood feel something that is missed compared to our big box stores like Lowe's or Home Depot! I live in the neighborhood always do my best to support small local businesses! Absolutely exceptional service. Arrived with just minutes before closing needing an A/C capacitor. The big box stores don't carry this part and with only 15 minutes before close and google maps saying 9 I headed over in a rush. The staff was extremely helpful and in no way made me feel like I was a bother. The price for the capacitor was a great value especially when you think of what a call to a repairman would have been. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a store as I did yesterda 4/13/2023. An employee followed me and my family all around the store even after we told him he didn't need any help. I literally mean every where after sometime of walking around looking for things we needed (we are removing) I decided to ask if there was something wrong. he stray up told me that people are stealing and he had to keep an eye on me. there was more people in store but he decided to follow to Hispanic family around. that was the second time I had been in this store and the last. as a small business owner this is how you losses customers and the reason why store like this ended closing . read more

I still can't speak highly enough of this Ace. I've been to other locations (I'm lookin' at you, Lakewood) that didn't give me anywhere near the same warm fuzzies that this location gives me. I'm in a new house and have made several trips over the last couple of months to pick up small repair supplies. My latest visit required filling a shopping list of absolutely random and unrelated fixit items. My maintenance skills stop with being able to hammer a nail (sometimes even straight and true) and my fixit items were based on the rigged solutions I had living in my head. The employee who greeted me at the door (gotta get his name next time) spent at least 20 minutes with me coming up with real-world solutions and locating every single item I needed. He even hooked me up with clothes pins and a clothes pin bag (yep, 1979 called and wants its clothes line back) so I can enjoy line-dried sheets! I also found out they offer a handyman service. That might come in handy (see what I did there, heh) when it comes time to completely replace the guts in my toilet. Even if I don't use their service, they offered to hook me up with everything I need and walk me through all the required steps so I can do it myself. I dare you to find that kind of service at Home Depot. Bottom line, if you're looking for small town customer service, pay a few extra bucks and hit up Ace Hardware. You're welcome. read more

Crooks, thieves and liars. Go anywhere else but Ace in Mesquite. Do not give these people any of your business. Rented a uhaul from this joke of an establishment and they charged me $67.50 in gas for returning it 2 gallons short. Not to mention when I took the uhaul out the gas wasn't correct on my contract so I spoke with the guy and he couldn't even be bothered to walk 5 feet back inside and correct it. He assured me it wouldn't be a problem when I returned it but it clearly was a huge issue. Then after going back into the store and have it fixed I was told I'd get a call the next day and it would get fixed. Well that didn't happen I had to call back up there and after being on hold for 20+ minutes was told that because I brought it back 2 gallons short I would be charged a $30 inconvenience fee on top of the gas. 2 gallons of gas at $4.50 a gallon and a $30 inconvenience fee still doesn't equal $67.50. And they made no attempt to fix this when in fact I was the only one that was inconvenienced. I have also read the contract and no where does it mentions any inconvenience fee if gas isn't returned to the same level. I use to rent uhauls for my job every single weekend and never had this issue. This establishment will never see a penny of my money again. I hope a big store comes in and completely shuts this joke down. read more

First off, to say that this location is not up to the organizational or cleanliness standards set by the other DFW Ace stores is an understatement. I took in a chainsaw chain to be sharpened. When I got it back, I was charged for the work (which was reasonable), but the chain was still as dull as when I gave it to them. Yesterday of 3/5/2023 was my first time coming to an ACE HARDWARE store needed some bolts for my engine stand was asked if I needed something from and old and tall worker there with glasses told him I needed some bolts for my engine stand and left me in the bolt section even tho I asked him if he could help me look for an exact bolt I had just a little bigger and he told me with an attitude "I don't know you know what your looking for " and left so just ignored how rude that was and looked for the bolts I needed finally found one and needed 3 more bolts went upfront to ask the same guy to ask if he could help me find these because I only found one over there and again with an attitude said " whatever we have there is what we got left " so I said oh ok and as I was leaving another worker asked if I needed help obviously not anymore after the "help " I got from the first guy don't recommend going to this place anymore read more

Oh my goodness!!! wow....I love this store!! Curiously, my husband and I visited this store because we were looking for items which certain other places (clearing throat) didn't carry. So very vital to my husband's project, we had to have a few special parts and we decided to give the hardware store a try. As we entered the store, we were greeted by friendly employees; asked if we needed any help...it was great! My husband went one direction; I went another... He found every item he required (and some) for his project and I found a lot of really nice quality cookware (that I'm considering purchasing soon), soy candles (awesome quality) and a bunch other things. This store is stocked with quality merchandise, friendly employees and I do plan to go there again before going to other (clearing throat again) places. Yes, the prices may be a bit higher than many larger stores, however, you will be lucky to find specialty parts in the larger stores when you need them. I love the old-fashioned charm this store offers; old-fashioned in the sense of the "customer first" attitude, the quality of merchandise and just that great feeling you get when you walk in. I could have spent a long while in this store just walking up and down the aisles, however, my husband wanted to work on his project. :0) Did I mention how nice those candles were? Wow. Rude! This morning I called in a feed order. I am ill and my husband was going to pick it up. The order given to the lady that is the usual cashier was easy. 1 layer crumble, 1 layer pellet and one chick starter. My husband got there and was given 2 bags and told they were out of starter. What they filled the order with was some non marked white bag of green pellets that look like goat feed and a bag of chick starter which they said they were out of. My husband made a second trip to another store to get the starter. So now I have 2 bags of starter and some weird bag of green pellets. Upon seeing this, I called the store and asked for the manager. The man who answered at 5:45 pm on 10/25 said the manager was out but he could help me. I proceeded to explain and he said "yeah we are out of feed". I tried to tell him that they'd filled my order incorrectly and he said " lady, shut up and don't talk to me. The manager is in tomorrow". Then he hung up on me! The rudeness was over the top. read more
