We had a great dinner here last night! They were CRAZY busy last night, but everyone kept their cool. We were told it would be a 1 hour wait for a table (not surprised), and went to the bar to wait. Not even 5 minutes later, we were called up to our table! I was impressed! When we got up to the main dining room, I was impressed by the server immediately attending to us, giving us menus and water. The service here was moving like a well-oiled machine. While taking our order, she did give us a heads up that the kitchen was a little backed up so there might be a wait on the food. I can't remember ever being told by a waitress that the food would maybe take a while and I actually really appreciated it. Nothing worse than waiting and wondering at a restaurant! DRINKS We had a couple really delicious cocktails here. My boyfriend ordered the Millionaire's Margarita. I'm not a huge fan of tequila, but it was a really well made drink! He really enjoyed it. I had the Raspberry Lemonade cocktail. It was perfect! Great summer drink! APPETIZERS My boyfriend ordered the chicken appetizer salt and chili chicken I think it was called. It was good and he really enjoyed it. Just the right amount of heat on the chicken. I had a salad that was composed very well. MAINS My boyfriend ordered the steak. It was absolutely delicious. The potatoes underneath were some of the best we've had in a very long time! Excellent dish and the steak was cooked to perfection. I ordered tuna tartare (an appetizer) as my main course. It was really fresh and good. It was made with avocado underneath and also sesame dressing throughout. Really yummy! I just wish that it had been served with wontons instead of tortilla chips. It was still good, though. DESSERT The key lime pie and cheesecake that we ordered were surprisingly good! All-in-all it was a great meal with excellent service. We will definitely come back! I enjoyed my experience at "Vue" by EB Elliot's. I am not really sure what the difference is between what was formerly just known as "EB Elliot's" and "Vue" by EB Elliot's, except maybe a slightly updated menu and new ownership?? Maybe? I went last weekend for the first time since last summer, and our food was good. The drinks were pretty pricey, jacking our bill up ~$80 dollars for 6 drinks. Really, "Vue"? $13 dollars for a teeeeny tiny margarita??? Ugh. I would say entrees range between $20-35 dollars which I guess is normal for a seafood restaurant on the Nautical Mile. The food here is definitely better than all of the other restaurants I've tried on this strip -- less greasy, more interesting options than your typical "fish and chips" you'll get anywhere else. I got the crab stuffed shrimp and it was good. A lot of crab on large shrimp. I was already sort of full from the marg's and the buffalo calamari (DELICIOUS, MUST TRY!!) so I forced it all down but it was very good. I probably would have enjoyed it more on a less full belly. The best part was NO WAIT. Every other restaurant on the mile that I called had an hour long wait. We didn't wait at all to be seated, but considering the restaurant wasn't that crowded, we shouldn't have had to wait as long as we did to get served. I love this place - I have been here 5-10 times, mainly in the warm weather. The food is great and they offer interesting specials but the best part is by far the ambiance in the outdoor seating area where you can sit on the water, see boats pull right up, listen to live music, and more. I have sat inside and outside - nothing beats sitting outside on a nice day. If you don't want to sit on the busier/more casual lower level then i suggest asking about the raised patio connected to the restaurant. Two of my favorite items have been the crab cakes and the lobster roll. I have also enjoyed their burgers and i went to town on some oysters. I have been satisfied with the food, service, and ambiance every time. My only put off has been the noise level when the band is playing. if you are sitting directly next to the band because it is a busy day/night then it can be a little too loud for my liking but this as only happened to me one time - other times i have had no issue with volume. read more

My wife and I walked into E.B. Elliot's in Freeport and the first thing that came to mind was "Chum Bucket". I expected Plankton of Spongebob fame to come out and greet us. The place was a dump and while I know it's right off the water, I didn't expect the establishment to smell like Davey Jones' locker. As we were led to our table on a drenched (did it rain in Bikini Bottom that day?) green tarp I couldn't help but to feel as if was walking the infamous green mile and the last few feet of our walk was going to be a plank. I can't honestly say I can review the food here because my wife and I were so disgusted by everything we just weren't in any physical, spiritually or mental condition to deal with what they would've served us. My friends and I celebrated our friend's birthday here and it was wonderful. It was a Monday night and we basically had the upstairs seating area to ourselves. We had about 12 people in our party and the service was excellent. The waiters were very patient and attentive to our loud group. The best part of the menu here is the Price Fix Menu, You get an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $24.95! Great deal for greedy people like me who love to try everything on the menu. The menu online is inaccurate as they have a new Price Fix menu. I had the Shrimp Gumbo which was ok. I also tried the chopped baked clams which were excellent! I highly recommend them. For my entree I had the potato and shrimp which was also ok. The best thing I tried there was the Old Bay Mahi with the potato pancake. So good. The Lemon Garlic Shrimp was also good. Salads, crab cakes, fried calamari, mozz/tomato, etc. Nothing to warrant those prices. We ordered crab cakes ($26-- yikes!) and fried calamari ($17!) and waited... And waited.... And waited... Our food never came, nor did our waiter, and on top of that there was a not-so-great 80s band. After an hour, our waiter made a rare appearance. I asked for our food, he said he'd check. 15 mins later -no sign of him. A waitress came over to ask what we'd ordered -there was a 'mix up' in the kitchen. I asked for bread to hold us over. 10 mins later, the bread came-- So did our appetizers. The food was not even close to warm and looked like it had been sitting around for awhile. FINALLY our waiter came by to ask how everything was, I told him it was cold. He asked if I wanted to see the manager, I said yes. 20 mins later, he brought our bill (no manager). He didn't charge for the drinks or the crabcakes but still, it's now 1030 and I still have not eaten dinner. I will not go to EB Elliot's again. I will not even recommend it to anyone. Ever. I would really like to rank this a zero, but I feel like that would be such a dramatic over-exaggeration. So two stars and "Meh. I've experienced better" seems a bit more accurate. I live right here in Freeport, and the Nautical Mile is almost a hop, skip, and a jump away from my house. E.B. Elliot's is the first bright, lit-up joint on the strip as you turn in, and I only WISH that everything inside got me as excited as the outside did. I've only been here twice since it first opened not even 10 years ago, and the second was decidedly the LAST time I'd ever step in here. A lot of reviewers here have written similar to what I'm going to say. And the scary part about my last experience was... I can hardly even remember it! That's how mediocre, bland, and un-impressionable the food and service was. What I DO remember is that I sent plates of food back to the kitchen TWICE and asked for something else. And when I finally decided that a bowl of soup was the safest route to go (French Onion, in fact), one spoonful was all it took to have me almost in tears because I was so unhappy and frustrated with the food, on top of being so damn hungry. Taking into consideration that I haven't been there in a couple years and perhaps things have changed for the better (or worse), the mixed reviews I'm reading on here - more bad than good - are confirming that my reservations about this place still stand. But as with MANY eating spots here on the Nautical Mile, some like one place while others just bash it as being the worst food they ever had. I'm siding with the latter on this restaurant. A couple of specs.... there is a private valet parking lot for E.B.'s ONLY directly across from the restaurant, and worst case scenario there's always parking on the street along the mile. There is an outdoor bar with stool seating for in-season summer time, most likely with music or a DJ, and they usually run pre-fixe menus and emails with coupons (I only know all this because my parents like E.B.'s enough to get stuff from them). I do not like the food, I think it's VERY over-priced, and that stupid electric green palm tree is a cheap, cheesy gimmick. This isn't a nightclub; this is a restaurant with an interior that looks like a dim-lit tavern.. Unfortunately the Nautical Mile as a whole has tanked since Sandy. EB Elliott's held up for a while, but has finally sunk into the abyss with the rest of the Mile. The menu has been cut down to about 7 main courses and the specials. We got tilapia, halibut, seafood bouillabaisse, and kids' chicken fingers (which were an outrageous $12.95). The fish entrées were $25+ and were nothing more than small frozen portions which were re-heated and doused in horrid sauce. The bouillabaisse was ok but not worth the price - had two scallops in it some mussels and small shrimp. The tilapia had an earthy (read dirt) taste to it. Overall the food was easily one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. The service was ok - waitress was pleasant. Avoid this place and the rest of the overpriced holes that now operate on the Mile. UPDATE: Someone tried to get my review removed by falsely claiming I wrote the review about the wrong EB Elliot's. Recently my wife and I went for dinner to Elliot's Waterfront Dining and bar using a local flavor certificate. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean with good views of the Freeport nautical mile. We were seated quickly and ordered two dinners a chicken sandwich and fish and chips.The chicken sandwich was OK but was tough in some parts.The fish and chips were very good and was authentic. Service was spotty and at times was downright poor even though there were only 4 diners in the restaurant at the time. At several times I felt abandoned. The price to value ratio is below average for this type of restaurant. Portion size was average.I will be returning soon and I will see if the service has improved. read more

Tonight we came in because the sun was absolutely gorgeous and we didn't want to miss it. Our server was Jess. I love her she was outstanding and she knows italian! We loved her. Went here to celebrate my cousin's 21st birthday with all the guys in my family. We made our reservation and were seated as soon as we got there. I can't accurately comment on the service because we were waiting for more people in our party for a while, but our waitress kept the drinks flowing. Not the most varied beer selection I've seen; they have mostly summery beers, which I'm fine with, but people like my brother was left wanting. Once we ordered our food the appetizers came out very quickly, and they were so good. Baked clams, calamari, and shrimp cocktail on the same plate, I could've eaten three whole plates of it myself. I ordered the stuffed chicken for dinner and it was quite good. Well-cooked and tasty. The potatoes with it were also fine. I am a huge fan of potato anything so this was great for me. The entertainment that night (Last Thursday) was interesting to say the least. A pair of brothers with an acoustic guitar and a bucket playing everything from "I'm a Believer" to "Hailie's Song." They were a topic of conversation for most of the night. My favorite part was, after dinner, our waitress came around and offered us another round of shots. The birthday boy couldn't decide, so we asked them to surprise us. She came back with a tray with nine different shots on it, and we all picked at random. That was really fun, and I'm going to remember that next time I can't decide. We had a great time because we all got good and toasty on the outdoor deck. I loved this place when it was just EB Elliots. Menu is always fun and the food incredible. Not sure what Vue is or who owns it, but it was quite possibly the worst food I've ever had on the Mile. In all fairness the fish my mother ordered was tasty. My husband's swordfish was overcooked, my father's dish was missing side items, and my food was, where do I start? First let me say that our waiter was super sweet. And very accommodating. I ordered the crab and avocado app. Plate sat down in front of me and one of the two ingredients was clearly missing. Poor waiter went back into the kitchen and came out saying the chef said we're out of avocados... So you just served it anyway? At $18 for an appetizer I'd think you'd mention that half the ingredients would be missing. Tasted the crab which lacked seasoning. The waiter offered to discount the cost and bring something else. So went with my second choice, a $16 smoked duck salad with Gorgonzola cheese. What came out was something that looked like canned meat sliced into strips. I don't eat processed meat, so just ate around it. Again, the waiter offered to discount the salad although I made no negative remarks on it. Let me start by saying that I've been here several times and my food has usually been excellent. I was looking forward to going here for dinner all week and was very disappointed with my meal. My Diet Coke was so watered down; that should have been my hint of what was to come. We ordered lobster sliders (which were excellent) and Buffalo wings (not very flavorful). What was supposed to be a nice dinner on the water to escape the Summer heat was replaced by a loud, extremely off-key barge band, a waitress who was sparse at best and maybe some of the worst food I've ever had the misfortune of tasting. The Ceasar was plain, wilted romaine. The Bud tasted like it was stored in someone's trunk. The linguini in clam sauce was overcooked noodles, 6 clams and a bowl of butter flavored water and the clamari, thankfully, was fried and that's about the only positive I can say about this place. Very disappointed that I had to leave one star. On the evening of 8/4/21 I went into this establishment with my spouse for some drinks and appetizers. I ordered the drinks and also requested an appetizer menu. "Richie" the bartender/manager that was working that evening stated that the "KITCHEN WAS CLOSED" and that he would not be taking anymore orders. With that being said, we just continued with the drink order. In the middle of the first round of drinks we noticed a Hispanic man come in and order a drink and food. With in minutes of placing his order "Richie" the bartender made his drink order and then disappeared in the back. After a few moments we watched "Richie" proceed to walk back and forth from the bar to the kitchen, shortly after he then appears with food. Imagine watching this man take a food order after telling you that the kitchen is closed. And now your sitting there in his face watching him serve another patron that came in almost 25 minutes after me. The fact that my spouse and I are African American made me feel that because the other patron was Hispanic along with "Richie" , that helped make this whole moment look like some type of stereotypical , racist act, full of a list prejudices which was orchestrated by Hibiscus On The Mile and its "management". After watching the disdain on my face and husbands face, "Richie" then comes directly in front of us and asked with with an obvious attitude, "You still want something"... It's extremely sad to see moments like this play out in 2021. To think that, that was proper customer service and to believe that, this is how the "managers" of this restaurant thinks is extremely disturbing. To think that this bartender is also apart of the management team, literally sends chills down my spine. Please enter with caution my African American brothers and sisters. Black dollars are not wanted and needed at this establishment located at 23 Woodcleft Avenue Freeport, NY 11520. The atmosphere, food, people and service are excellent. The people that frequent this place are really nice as well. For the price, the food served is again excellent. The chef comes out to meet everyone and you can tell he really cares about his product. I suggest Eb Elliots over any establishment on the mile. Don't listen to the BS these other people wrote... The decor is lovely (I saw someone else's review who called it a dump- so not true!) On to the food! Some of my faves: delicious fish tacos (some of the best I've ever had!), mussels appetizer, calamari (classic and kung pao are both great), linguine with clams, great steak, chicken or steak tid bits, amazing quesadilla, yummy sliders, steamers, awesome mozzarella sticks, and slamming funnel cake fries. The staff is friendly. Drinks aren't cheap, but average price range for a beer or cocktail. However, the food 1 star I really didn't like the pre made trio appetizer mozzarella, chicken fingers and wings Yuck. They would taste good after a couple of drinks thou. The main course (smh) I'm absolutely unhappy. Why would the vegetables be sautéed in thyme. The Chef should know that thyme is very strong.
