We had to wait 25 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us after the bus boys had filled our waters multiple times (from there we decided to not order drinks). We had the crab dip appetizer which was mediocre at best and the chips it came with were literally crumbs. We asked for whole chips (lol) and it took another 15 minutes to get them. Well I guess I'm somewhat of a regular here since my band panic attack plays here once every month or two. Love the staff here it's the best of the best and the kitchen seems to have really figured it out too-if you stick to burgers, the steak tidbits, wings and tacos you may even be convinced that you finally found the place on the mile that has great flavorful food. Now I only mention these items because these are the items that my friends who came to see my band ordered and absolutely raved about how delicious it all was. Elliot's is a great place to go to after work, for dinner or just because! One of the best places on Nautical Mile. Riche the manager is very friendly and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. Chris is one of the best bartenders, he is always so courteous . The service is phenomenal. Food is always amazing. Their coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktail and calamari is one of my favorites. Just to name a few! Prices are very reasonable. Children are welcome, there is parking as well. What happened to Freeport?! I have been to the Freeport area a few times several years ago. Located on the water, with sailboats as the backdrop. It is supposed to be the place to come for seafood. Well I did SEE the FOOD and want to leave! I need to start off by saying the service was really good. The hostess and waitstaff were great! Too bad the food didn't match their service. I feel it is way overpriced for the portions they serve. My order was a broiled filet of sole. It was small, flavorless, a small portion of grilled vegetables. My fish was served curled up so the tip of the fish was overcooked and dry. Where was my lemon? All seafood should be served with lemon! No one at my table seemed impressed with their food. One dish came out wrong. We ordered a filet of sole stuffed with crab meat and instead it was stuffed with spinach. The staff was very apologetic and offered to replace the dish right away. However by the time the correct dish came out, everyone at the table was done eating. So we took the fish to go. My husband ordered a dozen little neck raw clams (usually served on ice but these were served in a pool of water). Every one knows you serve clams with horseradish this did not. His entree was the lobster clam bake. TOTALLY overpriced! The lobster was a decent size but did not even taste good. Besides the lobster the clam bake came with 3 steamed clams, 3 steamed mussels and a sad looking small piece of yellow corn. This market priced lobster clam bake was no feast for a king for sure! It was a hot day outside and just as warm inside. The beers on tap were warm as well. All the ice in the drinks melted really quickly. For my bathroom review....I felt like I needed to be disinfected when I left that bathroom. It was unisex which I am ok with but the urinal was so dirty. I will spare you the details. Reading some of these reviews - particularly the ones from faceless, nameless Yelpers - leads me to believe that the competition on the Nautical Mile is so bad it has turned to mud slinging online. The Wife and I come here a few times a year when the Rockville Center pubs get too monotonous. During the Summer, there are few places I'd rather be than the Nautical Mile and EB Elliot's is definitely the anchor. We've come here for lunch or early dinner before a night of "The Mile" debauchery and thoroughly enjoyed the dockside dining or outdoor bar. For the reviewers complaining of "overpriced" meals, I have one point to make. Everything on the Nautical Mile is overpriced. You can't judge this menu against your local pub. That's like comparing Manhattan prices to Teaneck, NJ prices. And while Freeport is not Manhattan, it's one of the biggest Summer destinations in South Nassau. I have been to this restaurant a few different times. The most recent time I went was a Sunday night around 8:30 pm. The place was kind of empty which I was surprised because The Mile is normally busy even on Sunday evenings. We sat outside on the deck. They had a DJ playing music but it was a little too loud. I could hardly hear the waitress or the person I was with. The DJ played great music but if it was a little lower it would have been 100 times better. I normally go with the steak here but we decided to order a few different appetizers and share them. We ordered the shrimp tempura roll, lobster sliders, little neck baked clams, and the stack of onions rings. Favorite to Least in order: Lobster Sliders (tasted just like a fresh lobster roll), Little Neck Baked Clams (tasted so fresh and the clam were whole and delicious), Shrimp Tempura Roll (tasted great and the shrimp tasted fresh too), and the stack of onion rings (they were good but not my favorite). As for cocktails, I tried the Blood Orange Margarita and it was so strong and did not taste like any of the other blood orange margaritas I have ever had so I asked to swap it out for the Blueberry Lemonade which was delicious! Had lunch there today with my family. Let's start with the good. Overall food was good. Turned out to be restaurant week so the people who got food from that menu had smaller portions but enjoyed their food and the price. Now the bad....sat down and was not given a menu, yet was asked for a drink order - um I don't even know what you have. Mussels didn't have much flavor and the worst thing was that the music was way too loud. The place was pretty empty and it was noon on a Wednesday. There is no reason to have to scream at each other while you are trying to have a conversation. Oh and how about you have your servers cut their nails? I don't need long talons in my food. I have never had a bad experience here. We just came back from having a nice impromptu lunch and it was delicious. I had a Cobb salad and my fiancé had a tuna wrap. Both were excellent and fresh. The grilled chicken was very flavorful and not dry (like most places I've been to). We also had our daughter's baptism this year on May 25th in the upstairs room and the service and food were AMAZING! Deny (the event planner/manager) made sure everything was in its place and all the servers were attentive and friendly. My guests left very happy with the experience and enjoyed the food very much. And the view was just an added bonus. We are looking at having my daughters 1st birthday at EB Elliot's because of the great experience with Deny, the staff and the delicious food. I don't often leave low scoring reviews. I really don't like to be very critical. However, I haven't been this disappointed by a restaurant in a long time. I have not been to Nautical Mile in years. I wasn't sure where to go. I had to randomly select a place. From a distance, it looks like a good atmosphere, a nice place on the water. It appears to be the most populated spot on the strip, which nowadays can be either a plus or minus. Anyway, this is where I spent my Tuesday late afternoon. I came after the beach. There was a hostess, but she didn't greet us. I approached her, and she sat me and my party at out requested table. I think there was a shortage of menus, because she only handed us one menu... Soon after sitting, someone poured us some water. He didn't really say anything, he just poured us water. Ten minutes later, a waitress came by, and offered us a drink from the bar... But, we haven't seen the cocktail menu, so we asked for to see it. She bought one menu over, and then it took a long time for her to come back. 25 minutes passed by, froM the time we came in, to the time we were given our cocktails. I will say, there was a distraction at the bar, that could have contributed to the delay... A customer was fighting with the bartender. Not sure, what the fight was about, but O did hear the customer say, "Make me leave, BITCH"... I don't know, what she could have done to deserve that, but it dragged on a bit.. They have a decent selection of cocktails, including two frozen. (Strawberry & Mango Daiquiri. My bf tried, the mango daiquiri, it was just ok. He also tried the coconut margarita, and that was better. I got some lemonade vodka drink. The food selection has a lot of friend food. Very few vegetarian selections... We ordered pretzel bites, oysters, seafood salad and fish tacos. I don't eat oysters, but they look ok. The pretzel bites were similar to the frozen type, you can buy at a supermarket. $9 is a lot for that type of pretzel. I love ordering bar pretzel, but this wasn't good, it came with a cheese dipping sauce. I would have preferred mustard. I knew if I asked, it would have taken too long.... The seafood salad was another disappointment. My bf ordered it. It was very small. There was canned artichoke hearts, a little bit of shrimp The fish tacos were decent. But, I would have preferred grilled fish. It's my fault for not asking. Three tacos per order. The service was slow. But, overall our waitress was nice. She tried to be as attentive as she could. The salad and the sides to the Lobster was dropped off the the table at 930p. When asked, where is the lobster, the response "sorry we are out." This is an experience I hope no one ever experiences. This comment is not to insult the restaurant but to hopefully encourage butter service. The restaurants as major potential if more attention is put into great service and great food. So I've been coming here for years and always had great service however yesterday the service was sub par. I already was aware that a party was going on upstairs so had no preference of seating. There was a table but oddly placed smack in the middle of the floor. Only after my suggestion to move it in a space between two other parties was is moved. It took the waitress over 7 minutes to come to us. The table next to us warned us that the service was terribly slow. I now know that there are new owners however thankfully the manager Denny is still there-who's been there forever. . The food is still delicious which is why I gave 2 stars. My drink was horrible. It was supposed to have cranberry but came to me orange colored. Sent it back for the cranberry but tasted just like lime juice. I settled for a vodka club. I watched a woman who I think is another manager pretty much berated a new busboy while customers were dining. She also wiped a table with a rag, then put silverware on the table with no napkin. She also held the silverware in her hands after using the rag and handling a bottle, and a bottle chiller. Just seems more sanitary to pre wrap the silverware in the tablecloths to minimize contamination. It just seems like the servers on the first floor were a bit overwhelmed despite it not being crowded-especially since I know how packed this place can get. The waitress warmed up after but again just seemed that she was overwhelmed. She wasn't sure what came with the salmon dinner but did give me a good suggestion. Also for it to be before 5pm I think they need to being back the lunch menu, not a dinner menu. Theresa and Marquis did try. This is a cute spot to grab a drink, or have a gathering with family or friends. I went for a birthday dinner. The staff is great. The food was pretty good. The calamari was fried to perfection. My seafood diavolo was good. I was a little full by the time it arrived but i was happy with it. My strawberry lime monitor wasnt great but I hate to send things back so I drank it but I don't recommend that if you go. I heard the salmon and also the lobster tails were good. It was cool. There are several restaurants over there to try so I will be back. My biggest issue is that they provide complimentary valet, that is not optional and when I came out they couldn't find my car. I have them the ticket and he asked what kind of car I drove, I told him and he said, oh, we have a lot of those. Lol I had to find my black car at 11 at night. Second , we had a burger medium rare and it was well done and the meat had no spice, I'm sorry i need some sort of taste in my meat. Third we had the Thai Chili wings, again i'm expecting hot wings with some sauce, there was no sauce and there was nothing hot spicy about it. it had a good taste but not spicy at all. we never got pickle with burger and my fish and chips, I had to ask for the tartar sauce. The only good thing about this experience is that my daughter and her boyfriend liked their food otherwise i would of been really pissed. They kept saying it's come we are sorry yet tables around us were getting served before we did. It is memorial day but the dining room and bar upstairs is dead. A group of us went to this restaurant to see a friends band play. They have a valet parking lot across the street. We pulled in and when I spoke to the attendant he said the cost was $30.00. I said $30.00? That's ridiculous. We explained that we were going across the street to listen to the band and have dinner and drinks. The attendant then dropped the price to $20.00. We ended up reluctantly paying. He then told me to find a spot and park the car. So much for valet parking. We got inside and was sitting for awhile when a woman came in and asked for the manager. She was directed towards two gentlemen standing to the side. She asked what was the price to park across the street? They asked her why she wanted to know. She explained that she heard that people were charged different prices and some people weren't charged at all. Obviously they had a scam going on. The "manager" would not answer her question and she repeatedly asked what is the price. Eventually the manager got angry and got into the woman's face and yelled that she works for him! She said I'm a customer I don't work for you. He then told her to get out of his face and back up. At this point the manager was very aggressive towards the woman. I was shocked and couldn't believe what I was seeing. As he walked away he actually bumped her. She was shocked. He then went up to the band and told them to calm down the woman or the band and the woman had to leave. I was very shocked considering how unprofessional the manager was handling the situation. Including physically bumping the woman. There were a lot of people watching how this played out and was shocked at the manager's behavior. We will never be back at this dump. EXCELLENT!! This was my first visit and I will be back again. The food was just amazing. I had the Salmon and my wife had Chicken. Just delicious. The service was even better than the food. Our server was beyond polite, really tripping over himself to ensure we were satisfied. My wife and father-in-law have a pepper allergy. We forgot to mention this and had to send their appetizers back. This was our fault, not that of the server or restaurant in any way whatsoever, yet they apologized up and down and took care of it quickly. We had a great dinner here last night! They were CRAZY busy last night, but everyone kept their cool. We were told it would be a 1 hour wait for a table (not surprised), and went to the bar to wait. The potatoes underneath were some of the best we've had in a very long time! Excellent dish and the steak was cooked to perfection. I ordered tuna tartare (an appetizer) as my main course. It was really fresh and good. It was made with avocado underneath and also sesame dressing throughout. Really yummy! I just wish that it had been served with wontons instead of tortilla chips. It was still good, though. DESSERT The key lime pie and cheesecake that we ordered were surprisingly good! All-in-all it was a great meal with excellent service. We will definitely come back! There is very convenient parking across the street as well. I was impressed when we pulled in that they didn't force us to valet the car we were driving that night. It isn't a car we really wanted anyone else driving. The valets were very pleasant. I enjoyed my experience at "Vue" by EB Elliot's. I am not really sure what the difference is between what was formerly just known as "EB Elliot's" and "Vue" by EB Elliot's, except maybe a slightly updated menu and new ownership?? Maybe? I went last weekend for the first time since last summer, and our food was good. The drinks were pretty pricey, jacking our bill up ~$80 dollars for 6 drinks. Really, "Vue"? $13 dollars for a teeeeny tiny margarita??? Ugh. I would say entrees range between $20-35 dollars which I guess is normal for a seafood restaurant on the Nautical Mile. The food here is definitely better than all of the other restaurants I've tried on this strip -- less greasy, more interesting options than your typical "fish and chips" you'll get anywhere else. I got the crab stuffed shrimp and it was good. A lot of crab on large shrimp. I was already sort of full from the marg's and the buffalo calamari (DELICIOUS, MUST TRY!!) so I forced it all down but it was very good. I probably would have enjoyed it more on a less full belly. The best part was NO WAIT. Every other restaurant on the mile that I called had an hour long wait. We didn't wait at all to be seated, but considering the restaurant wasn't that crowded, we shouldn't have had to wait as long as we did to get served. Not sure what the hold up was, i really just think our waiter forgot to put our order in.
