What a disappointment. Well, I can't really say that because I never expect much when "dining" on the mile, but tonight meal was a total let down. Entrees arrived before apps, my daughters pasta from the kids menu was in a chunky, spicy marinara with large pieces of onions(not something you would expect on a kids menu), and the chowder was just strange. Two years ago our lunch at Elliot's was very good. Not this time. We had a restaurant.com coupon and asked first if they accepted and the maître de smiled - we took it as a yes but at the end they said that they no longer honor it. About the service -- poor. Our waiter gave us a bottle of water and didn't bother to pour it. We had a glass of wine and nobody came to ask if we wanted another. We asked for bread and we got 1 very small roll per person. We both ordered fish and chips which was mostly clams and 3 shrimps and lots of chips. Very disappointed. I came here on a sunday evening and sat outside at a table by the bar with my date. Live music was great, and food was even better. Tuna Tartare was delicious, but could have used a few more tortilla chips to dip with. Have been here a couple times in the past and been disappointed,however, the boat parade was tonight so we figured since it was on the water we would give it another shot. Very pleasantly surprised to find that the it's been taken over by new ownership and revamped with an entirely new menu. Thank god because it was really in need of it!! I can't speak highly enough about this place! I went here with my sister on a Thursday night and there was a decent crowd with live music-- the band was awesome! Our waiter was named John and to be honest, we'd come back for him alone, even if the food wasn't as amazing as it was. He gave is his recommendations and we naturally went with them; the onion soup was to die for, and the crab cakes and pot of muscles were equally amazing. I heavily recommend the raspberry martini for cocktail fans. Amazing intuition, John! We had the groupon deal (which is totally worth it), but the app was giving us trouble, so John and his manager, Vicky were awesome in accommodating us and helping us out. This was my first time at EB Elliot's and I will say the food was delicious! The French Onion soup was probably one of the best I've had. The Flatbread appetizer was very good. I had the Cobb Salad & my husband had the Seafood Fra Diablo and we thought they were excellent. We then went downstairs to have a nightcap and listen to the live band and they were great. We just had our friends 40th bday celebration there. The staff there could not have been more wonderful. Starters, they have a secluded room, which was perfect for the 11 of us. we could get loud if we needed too (not that we did). The staff was so attentive and helpful. Our waiter was Brian, he was just lovely. Very patient and courteous. I cannot say enough great things about Brian. The food, it was just delicious. We were all very happy and satisfied with our meals. It was really just ON POINT. I really hope to return there for a meal. Went there today with the family, we all ordered lobster rolls only to take a bite and realize that the lobster was very old and tasted like bad fish. The manager took care of the bill and we left only for him to come up to us laughing about the whole situation. I would recommend to never eat at this place unless you're looking to get sick. Came here for dinner tonight and I can't say enough about the food and the service. Everything from drinks and appetizers to the main dishes were perfect. I had the mahi mahi on special and would have licked the plate clean if I could have. Our waitress, Mary, was so sweet and helpful. I would definitely come back and ask for her again. As I was in town for a funeral I came to this restaurant. I was not to impressed, when I got my water I asked for a straw since I do not like drinking out of the glass from restaurants, then I noticed there was lipstick on my glass. I showed the waiter and kindly asked for a new glass of water. My second glass of water had a lipstick stain as well, once again I called over the waiter I showed him the lipstick stain and kindly told him I am not sure who is washing your dishes but this glass is dirty too. What got me upset was instead of the waiter apologizing he walks away annoyed and brings me a plastic cup of water. My cousin ordered a beer with his meal which was not given to him until he reminded the waiter and my aunts meal was also served to her late. The only thing good about this place was the food the food was great. If you plan to try this place don't expect good service and look at your glasses and utensils carefully to make sure they are clean. read more
