Claw machines felt pretty scammy. Close to $2 a play and the claws are tuned just right to release anything picked up. The Kirby one in this picture is literally impossible to get because even with perfect plays it does not grip enough to even pretend to budge. Other than that the store is fine. I had heard that the grand opening went a little crazy, but now that it had been a few days and I was passing by, I decided to finally check Ellicor out. (As I'm a huge smiski fan, so that's what I was there for) It was relatively empty inside, save for a few other customers, but it was so easy to find the blind boxes. I did go in the evening, but sadly all the smiskis were sold out. It looks like they had 4 different series there, but all the boxes were empty. While I was there, I saw/heard some other people also walk up and say "aw all the smiskis are gone". So I wonder how often they restock, and I hope it is often. And I wonder how much each smiski is and if there's any type of upcharge. If only I had asked while I was there. I decided might as well keep looking around. They have a pretty nice snacks section. I'm no stranger to Asian snacks but there were a few things I had never seen/tried before. There were also a lot of cool skincare, but that was a lot more expensive so I only looked through those. A lot of fun trinkets, Asian makeup and skincare, as well as snacks. If you're into all the cute things this is a place for you. A lot of things were sold out, unfortunately. And empty boxes from sold out merchandise was still lingering on the shelves which made it look a little messy. What I REALLY didn't like though is that majority of the items were not having price tags on them nor somewhere near. I think I only saw prices on some blind boxes and makeup/skincare. To me, this is a huge deal if a business does not have properly displayed prices. For the staff, people are mostly friendly. Updating my previous negative review. I came in on a Saturday late afternoon. They have definitely updated how they stock the store. No longer are plushies on the floor. They had a good spread of asian beauty products along with my favorite cute plushes and brands. Offers a good store front in Austin to get some more niche C and J beauty products, like expanded offerings from the Biore bodycare line, Flower Knows, etc. Snack selection was great. It's good to see another local option in an age where it's very easy to get most of this online. Arcade and gacha machines were wiped, but we're only two days after what seemed to be a very tough soft opening. Employees are actively training and getting things back in order after what seems like a very high volume turnout. Be kind and have empathy to people working in retail: they are people, too, and deserve your empathy and kindness. Keep doing your best! read more

Copying my review from Google here - I had a bad experience here when I was hired. There was terrible communication from the manager, and the excuse was because they were a new business. Also, they don't take your info like other businesses; they take a photo of your SSN and ID on an iPhone, and you don't sign an I-9 document (or at least I know I may have been the only one). If you were not prepared to open, then don't rush. Other than that, the store is nice. I don't see the one-star reviews from the opening any more for some reason, but let's see how the store does in the future. read more

Absolute insanity. We bought tickets and paid MONEY to get into this place and cut the line for their soft opening and there was still a line of 300+ people ALL DAY. Super frustrating and disappointing especially having spent actual money and never even getting to go inside the store. These blind box crazes are just ruining the fun for normal people that want to enjoy things a normal amount. Don't go if you want to have a heat stroke waiting outside in 103° weather. read more

To be real honest , I was really exited to go and see the store when I first heard about it , but it was a nightmare! Store was supper hot inside , everything was a mess , most things did not have price tags . Honestly, what kind of business doesn't have proper price tags. Other than that I was really disappointed when I got the labubu after waiting 3-4hours for them to restock (mind you , we did ask how long they would take for them to re-stock and they kept saying soon , like tf ?) , it was $70 and honestly that's just so disappointing and frustrating, you could literally get them way cheaper somewhere else and still getting an authentic one . If I could give this place ZERO stars, I definitely would! The customer service/hospitality was non/existent. Most of the staff lacked training & policy knowledge. They sold me a defective product of a sunscreen; the pump wouldn't dispense product & I'd have to pump it several times to get some product out. I've explained this to both the cashier & manager, who were both very dismissive & refused to help me out & correct the issue. They finally took the product to test it out & they said it worked but that's beside the point. They had sold me a defective product & told them I didn't trust this product at all & was worried that the same issue might occur, to which I asked to simply exchange it for me for another item. They continued to reiterate that they didn't accept any sort of returns or exchanges, which is SO TERRIBLE. Store was fine and exactly as expected. I did not purchase figurines, but did purchase body spray which was fine for the cost. Not entirely sure what some of the other commenters expected from a store of this type. They're known to be rather chaotic due to popularity, and "stuff being everywhere" due to short staff and the sheer amount of people coming in. Will you likely get annoyed from the amount of people and the lack of self awareness? Yes. But that's the cost of coming to a store like this. My advice, go with an idea of what you want and get out.
