Chicken skewer platter 11.90 euro as of December 2024

Amazing value and food! We had the chicken skewer plate. The chicken was tender and the portions were generous and perfect for one person. The waiter was so friendly! Please stop by if you are in Vienna if you get tired of eating schnitzel!

3.5/5 stars I was craving for Greek food, so we decided to drop in here. The portions are generous here, but I was a bit turned off b/c smoking indoors is allowed in here. Ordered: 1) Gyro plate: 3/5 eh, okay. The meat could've been better. 2) Octopus salad: 3.5/5 wow, the octopus was so soft and well marinated 3) Hummus/Mediterranean appetizer sampler: 4/5 No meat, but a plate of hummus, tahiti sauce, Muhamarra, Baba Ganoush, etc. I was a bit tired of eating so much meat in all my meals

Did not impress me for Greek food. I ordered the pork souvlaki plate and the pork was so tough I could barely cut it with my knife. Prices are reasonable around $9-$15 for the plates, entrees a bit higher. The portion sizes are large even by American standards! The plate was huge piled high with fries and meat and comes with tzatziki and salad. The tzatziki actually was delicious. One of my favorite Greek tastes. Drinks kind of expensive. A small bottle of water is 2.40 euro! The owner/server was nice and helpful though. CASH ONLY!

This place is soooooo good! I finish everything on the plate even tho I rarely eat that much. Recommend the starter will all kinds of dip, you really got to taste everything from that starter. The service was also excellent! And the portion size of food is huge! I wish I can come back again! Really recommend the gyro plate (even though I didn't get that one, looking at others eating it makes me want to try that too) would come back again if I could.

Great Greek food in Vienna! Having spent two weeks on Greek islands in July, I was a bit skeptical about finding good Greek food in Vienna. I'm glad I was wrong! Ellas Ouzeri was excellent, and very authentic Greek cuisine, with good prices and service. My wife and I split a Halloumi plate, gyro plate, and Greek salad and they were all delicious. The gyro meat was cooked to perfection and the fries were quite good. The Halloumi was excellent, and came with some veggies as well. The Greek salad was exactly how it was served on the Greek Islands, with plenty of olive oil and a giant brick of feta on top. Yum! Had a 1/2L of Mythos with dinner, and walked out of their full and happy, without a big hit to the wallet. Besides the food being good, the service was good as well. The staff was attentive, and the food came out very quickly.

Saw this place got great reviews so I decided I'd try it for myself-- definitely was not disappointed. I thought I loved Greek food before I came here-- now I realized I had never even tried the best of it! Will never be able to go back to my hometown little Greek places. It's a shame I can't take this place with me when I leave Austria.

Excellent quality Greek food. We ordered gyros, mixed souvlaki, and a Greek salad. All three were spot on. The fried potatoes are outstanding. The Greek salad is probably the best I've ever had.

Very good great food in an acceptable / cozy space. Like most reviewers, I dislike the smoking allowed policy, but it was tolerable.

Went for an early-ish dinner, so not many folks in there yet, but we were quickly seated where we ordered some Greek wine and made a plan for our shared meal. We love ordering "family style" at Greek restaurants (especially appetizers), but given it was only two of us we scaled our usual selections back a bit. We stuck with a menu of tzatziki, saganaki, spanakopita and gyrospfanne. They started our meal with a complimentary pair of Ouzo shots, then we dug right in to the tzatziki served with thick-cut hearty bread slices. Shortly thereafter the saganaki (fried cheese) came out, also served with the same tzatziki on the side which paired well together given the richness of the cheese now "cut" by the bright fresh cucumber-y sauce. The spanakopita was served in a plate full of small, triangular baked pies which also was great with the tzatziki. Lastly, the gyrospfanne dish was not a traditional gyro style platter...instead it came as diced-cut gyro meat served in a cognac cream sauce with sliced peppers and onions. Alongside the meat was a portion of vegetable rice and a side salad. A very hearty meal and we were stuffed by the end. We really enjoyed the atmosphere...would have sat outside if it was a bit cooler out but an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

It's always a good sign when there are a number of Greeks dining here! Our server brought us two complimentary shots of ouzo. Yamas! I decided to start with the chicken soup (aka avgolemono) as it was a cold winter evening. It was nice and brothy unlike the creamy thick versions found in the states. I would say the soup was a bit more authentic. We opted for a taramasalata and a horiatiki as a second course. Both were good and hit the spot. For dinner, I had the moussaka. It was good but was drier than I expected. I was hoping for a bit of a saucier middle section. All in all a nice find in Vienna of all places!

The probably most filled greek restaurant in the humble town of Vienna…read more Curious, what this hubbub was all about, I invited my family to this restaurant, where the statues and the interior made me wonder for a glimpse of a moment, how i would feel as a waiter.. trying to dodge all those statues in the walking lane though they carry a lot to the ambiente. A friend of mine, brought me to this glorious idea to always order a lemon sparkly water in every restaurant... to see how they measure quality even in the smallest detail(also it is delicious as hell if done right). It seems like nitpicking, but if the lemon used in the sparkly water is out of a bought bottle and not squeezed out of a lemon... one starts to automatically question other things as well. To my disappointment, the lemon sparkly water was out of a bottle and a lonely lemon slice was swimming in this chemically tasting fluid. Against my better knowledge, I ordered the fishplate called the "portals to hades" for the good price of 17,50.. not that I was expecting the restaurant to be bad in preparing the meals... but that Austria in general does not offer too many high quality fish suppliers. The food was ok... the prawn and calamari had the classic imported quality, with a hint of mealyness and the fish with the side dishes were good... though i expected a filet to be without fishbones. Maybe this is how greek food should taste like... maybe i was biased by that chemical lemon sparkly water... but I was not overwhelmed by that experience. The greek coffee I ordered afterward was quite tasty. And the service was friendly but seemed to be a bit out of concept and chaotic. Looks like I need to take a trip to Greece to get to know their cuisine... until then...
