At first, I wasn't sure how to order, but the guy pointed out a paper menu on the counter. The menu is all in German, but if you don't speak German just pick a sandwich and it will be good! They sell doner kebab sandwiches and wraps, as well as pizzas, which looked quite tasted. They heated up the bread for our sandwiches in the pizza oven, so it was toasty and crispy. One of the guys working there spoke a bit of English, and was able to easily ask us what we wanted on our sandwiches (get everything - but be warned that the "spicy" powder is indeed spicy, so tread carefully unless spice is your thing.) We got the sandwiches to go for 3 euro each, and left full and happy.

I've tried the champignons (mushroom), paprika (pepper), tomaten, matjes (herring), and krabben mit ei (shrimp with egg). I liked the mushroom the most, but after one of these sandwiches, it quickly got boring for me to eat the sandwiches with similar consistency and texture. I must admit it is strange for me to see mushroom, peppers, herring all prepped similarly to become this coarse creamy spread concoction. Also, the sandwiches are served cold (as they should to store the creamy spread), but I usually prefer warm sandwiches. Regardless, it is a clever concept for the on-the-go travelers. A plus with this particular Trzesniewski branch in the Westbahnhof compared with the others is that they are open on Sunday and until late.

Mit Abstand der Beste Döner den ich je gegessen habe. Ich kann nicht genau sagen was ihn so besonders macht aber ich glaub es ist die Kombination aus den zwei Soßen und dem perfekten Brot !! um das Standel zu finden haben ich zwar etwas gebraucht und mich 2 drei mal verlaufen aber es hat sich wirklich gelohnt. BESTER Kebab und Co laden in Wien !! Zuvorkommend ist auch dass man sogar mit Karte zahlen kann, außerdem sind die Speisen billiger als am Westbahnhof und bei manch anderen Standeln. read more

We love ordering "family style" at Greek restaurants (especially appetizers), but given it was only two of us we scaled our usual selections back a bit. We stuck with a menu of tzatziki, saganaki, spanakopita and gyrospfanne. They started our meal with a complimentary pair of Ouzo shots, then we dug right in to the tzatziki served with thick-cut hearty bread slices. Shortly thereafter the saganaki (fried cheese) came out, also served with the same tzatziki on the side which paired well together given the richness of the cheese now "cut" by the bright fresh cucumber-y sauce. The spanakopita was served in a plate full of small, triangular baked pies which also was great with the tzatziki. Lastly, the gyrospfanne dish was not a traditional gyro style platter...instead it came as diced-cut gyro meat served in a cognac cream sauce with sliced peppers and onions. Alongside the meat was a portion of vegetable rice and a side salad. A very hearty meal and we were stuffed by the end.
