    greek salad w feta cheese

One of the best meals I've had in Vienna so far. Amazing Mediterranean Food. Stopped by for dinner on Sunday night without reservations, seated immediately (no line!) Food: We ordered Greek Salad, Feta Saganaki, Shrimp Spaghetti, Gilthead (Dorade), and Grilled Octopus. The Feta Saganaki is a must-try. The savory cheese and sweet, crisp honey pastry on the exterior perfectly complimented each other. Shrimp Spaghetti, delicious: the white wine and garlic sauce was fragrant, not too heavy but full of flavor. The Gilthead was an entire fish, good quantity and not over-seasoned. The Grilled Octopus was great too, but smaller in quantity and slightly more chewy (hit or miss). Greek Salad is great if you like feta cheese. For dessert we had chocolate souffle. So delicious! Highly recommended. Atmosphere: Not very crowded or noisy, clean, didn't feel like a tourist spot. Nice modern decorations, cute lightbulbs dangling from the ceiling. Service: Our waiter was professional, straightforward but polite. English menus were conveniently available. Exceptional value for the price. Will definitely be coming back!

Great service, great food. Authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Made reservations, but not crowded. Off the beaten path.

We ended up going here each day for lunch and each time it was awfully tasty! Thanks guys for the wonderful sauces and hot sandwiches that go great for any tourist or local passing by!

Not a huge selection of items, but what they do have is very filling, and includes different sauces to spice it up, if you like. The drinks menu, though, is pretty extensive. (I was overjoyed to find that they had Malibu.) Tasty selection of Israeli wine, as well as a fantastic hot chocolate with rum for cold days. Downsides: There's little room to sit inside, which discourages big groups. Not a problem in summer, though, since they set up tables on the sidewalk. The service is another story. The servers tend to push by without apology and can be unfriendly and impatient. But I go to Maschu for the food, not to chat up the waiter, so this doesn't bother me. This is only the servers - the two guys who cook and work behind the counter (one also sometimes serves) are always friendly and quick to laugh. I DO go to chat with them. :) Also, watch the prices: The menu items on the Neubaugasse site can sometimes be a few more euros than the same items at the Schwedenplatz location.

The only difference would be that today we each got a glass of wine. One was the gruner veltliner and the other was the Lebanese white wine. Both Were delicious, however, the Lebanese was by far outstanding and a real winner. You should order that one. We were greeted warmly at the door and asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, that did not prevent us from getting a seat in the main dining area. Service was. good if a little inattentive at times. The ambience is very elegant and the windows overlooking the street as well as the soft lighting and very soft music as to the overall ambience. The food was delicious end of high quality however it could have been warmer upon arrival at the table. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, and I would return and make a recommendation for anyone looking for Lebanese cuisine in Vienna. The eggplant tasted to me like olives. The pita was fresh but somewhat chewy. I enjoyed a dessert that was a rectangular bar of semolina in honey or rosewater, topped with cashews and pistachios. I pointed to it in the dessert showcase near the front door. Elegant interior, tables spaced nicely. Near Stadtpark.
