Even though there was construction going on, the ambience was extremely pretty and nice and we were almost the only ones there. They served us breakfast, which was delicious and the view was also amazing. they went out of their way to service breakfast even though it wasn't morning anymore and the server was extremely welcoming and nice. Definitely recommend also we got 10% off because we were staying at the Carson Hot Springs.

This restaurant is part of the Elk Ridge golf course club house. It is set with the course and the views are green and enjoyable. I ordered the Challah bread French toast. It was nicely presented with a drizzle of blackberry coulis. There was supposed to be toasted walnuts, but I didn't see any. It looked better than it tasted. I thought it was kind of dry, although a good dose of maple syrup helped. I also had hash browns, they tasted good but had a bit too much oil left on them. The plate was all oily when I was done. My wife got the oatmeal. It was good with the cranberries and brown sugar. The service was good, but I forgot to present a coupon that we had received from the Carson Hot Springs Hotel until she had started to ring it up and it was too late. She only suggested that I come back again to use it later. My fault for not showing it earlier, but I also felt a little disappointed. There was also an employee talking to another employee during the whole first part of our breakfast in a loud voice. It was a bit more than I wanted to hear. Maybe those conversations should take place in a more private area. I gave it 4 stars because the food was presented well, and I only had the dryness of the french toast to complain about. I might go back to try the lunch or dinner, but I'd probably skip breakfast.

Ali as a server was phenomenal and the food was delivered very fast, hot and exactly to order. Delicious onion rings appetizer, Caesar salad, and steak!!!

The place is extremely unassuming inside. Very clean but hard to define just based on the decor. We were the only people eating there which gave us pause but we were too interested in eating to care. A friendly local arrived soon after us. He loves the place and eats there several times a week. He also lives next door so there's that. Server is a delightful immigrant from Vietnam who shared her whole life story with us. Efficient and responsive. I ordered a BLT with extra crispy tots. This classic was excellent, just the right amounts of bacon, thick tomato, fresh lettuce and standard wheat bread. A correct amount of mayo too. Nothin' fancy, just good. The tots were the crispiest I have ever experienced. I always prefer extra crispy. These were crunchy at least halfway in! What others ordered: Denver omelet with crispy hash browns, small stack of fluffy (looked like soufflé ones!) pancakes and a bowl of won ton soup. The star of the entire meal was this soup! When it arrived, the oohing and ahhhing began. Huge bowl, absolutely crammed with gigantic wontons. Why so big?? Each one held a whole shrimp with pork wrapped around it! The soup was full of fresh veg and the broth was complex. I was hit with entree envy. My cousin ate steadily from that bowl for at least 15 minutes. It was still 2/3 full! In fact, she and her husband ate the rest for dinner that night!! All in all, we were delighted with our discovery. If you are passing through Carson, stop by and give Hap Cafe some love and your patronage. I might see you there --- bent over a spectacular bowl of won ton soup!

Very friendly service. We got the orange chicken and the shrimp fried rice and both were delicious…read more We plan to come back regularly.

We're back! 2 weeks later than my last review because the Gorge, Brandy our gracious and loving…read moreserver, dining tent deck view/ambiance, FOOD and "gluttony memory" called us back! An epic Breakfast menu for foodies and standard fair breakfast/brunch lovers is new and ON at Clark & Lewie's - designed and prepared by Brandy's husband and chef Tony! A "first" review challenge for me: How to write in "groans and sighs." Because words just won't accurately communicate the sophisticated, savory flavors, texture and clear love of food like we experienced. Crepes. Yes crepes! They offer two varieties that I couldn't choose from, so they offered one of each! The first is bacon, cheese and egg, and the second with ham/cheese and raspberry jam? The first bite - oooooohhhh - the texture that hits your mouth says "do I have your FULL attention?". And the first auditory responses are moans, groans and a few unsavory expletives....for which you quickly apologize to your dining partner. And your eyes lock on your food and fork - and then partner - with some serious "affection." Holy crap! Then the biscuits and gravy...equally not your standard fair with ample extra creamy servings of love and satiation. We also had to try an extra side of their potatoes obrian which are also not you standard fair and clearly trying to hold its own as a lead entre vs side. Moist, savory and incredible dipped in the gravy:) And then the bloody Mary's! Please note in the pictures the massive thick piece of bacon, that they cook in the oven with cayanne and brown sugar! And ALL of this backed by a scenic Columbia riverside view with its sleepy, eerie and calming mountain peaks, clouds and shimmering light. I must again reference our (local) server Brandy, and her incredible multi-talented husband Tony- they are the heart behind your entire dining experience. Brandy's piercing blue eyes radiate her love of what she does and her life with her large family here in the gorge. Richness in every level that pleases all your senses and soul. Oh! And with a bag full of breakfast leftovers, we ordered a full serving of their famous beef and elk stroganoff to take home as well!:) We'll be back!
