Terrible call center, who make the appointments, and have no accountability. I made an appointment…read morethree months ago (today was the soonest I could get in) for the MedStar Shah Medical Group at Annapolis Endocrinology Medical Center. I called a month ago to confirm my appointment (and they had it then), but when I called yesterday to double-check, I was told they did not have an appointment for me. The lady at the call center I spoke to put me on hold for over ten minutes saying there was a problem and she needed help. When she came back on the phone I was told that it was their error-someone there started a chart for me but never put the appointment in the system. Strange that I was able to confirm my appointment back in June. The call center sent a note to the actual office manager asking her to call me back. I called back to the call center to try to talk to someone higher up. I was then told that the office manager would not be calling me back because it wasn't her problem. When I asked to talk to the call center leader I was put on hold and then told they were in a meeting. I was furious and told them that I better hear back from them before they left for the day, but, surprise, I never received a call. The next appointment available isn't until December. So, because of their error, they expect me to wait another four months. This lack of accountability is unacceptable.

Dr. Makonnen has no respect for women. He diagnosed me with a condition and refused to explain what…read morethe condition was. Basically told me to just accept his diagnosis without question because he was the doctor and I am not. I was warned by others but decided to give the office a chance anyway, that was a BIG mistake. Office staff was just as condescending as the doctor. Worst doctor visit EVER!

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE!!!! I am a Type 1 Diabetic on an insulin pump... my insulin pump…read morebroke Sunday night (7/1) so I sent the office a MyChart message (this is how they communicate). I knew it wouldn't be answered until Monday morning. I had no back-up supplies for this situation... I called first thing Monday morning also to make sure they got my message and to also tell the receptionist what was going on. I told her I was a patient of Dr. Onumah and my insulin pump broke and I had no back-up supplies... I asked her to ask the doctor if she could call in some insulin pens for me to use until I got a new pump.... I thought I got the point across that this was an EMERGENCY.... guess not! I did not hear back ALL DAY..... Around 4pm I finally called and the office was CLOSED!!! I got the answering service and asked the gentleman to page Dr. Onumah as this was an emergency. She calls me 20 minutes later and says "what's going on?" When I tell her, her reply is "Well did you call the office?" Why yes, I did. Then her response was, "Oh I haven't checked my inbox all day..." WHY? It's just mind boggling that this office was so careless about my life in this situation... I literally need insulin to stay alive... How does that not register as an emergency? Regardless of if the doctor hasn't checked her messages, the front desk person I spoke with should have alerted her that I had no supplies and no working insulin pump... I am so disappointed with how I was treated and will not be returning to this practice. Be warned, that if something like this happens to you, don't waste your breath... call your PCP instead. Luckily, mine came through with some samples to hold me over until I get my new pump...

If i could give this facility zero stars I absolutely would. Dr Ounamah puts very little effort…read moreinto her ppatients. I was sent to her by my primary doctor because of extreme fatigue. When I got there the fromt desk was rude even rolling their eyes in front of me. That was the first clue that I should not be there, but I still thought I could get some answers from this doctor.Dr Ounamah spent a total of 5 minutes with me.I had blood work from my doctor that I was told could explain my fatigue. She quickly told me with barely looking at the numbers that there was nothing wrong with me and that there was nothing wrong with my hormones! that it was all in my head. I told her that more detailed thyroid tests are needed, but she did not want to test anything else. I could not believe how dismissive she was and how rude. Worst medical practice ever!

I'm really shocked by the low reviews. I love this practice. Yes sometimes there can be long wait…read moretimes. However just keep in mind that you never know what's going on in the room next to or across from you with the provider you're supposed to be seeing. Sometimes what a parent thinks is just a quick trip to the doctors for a "runny nose with a cough" can turn into a medical emergency. That can hold the provider up while they're waiting for the ambulance or for the specialist to call them back. I'm sure if it was your child you would want another parent to understand. My dad was a patient of Dr. Briscoe's at this practice when it was first opened. Dr. Sutton saved my older brother's life when he was a newborn in 1983 when he had a bowel obstruction that Arundel General Hospital(now AAMC) missed. Both my older brother and I were seen at this practice from the time we were newborns until we turned 18. Both my children who are now 14 and 10 have been coming to this practice since they were newborns. My son started wheezing before he turned 2 months old and had other medical issues and other medical diagnoses as he's gotten older and he's always had the best care here as well as my daughter. I have had certain providers call me to check on both my kids when they've been really sick to make sure that they're feeling better, one even called me on her day off which meant a lot to me and was something that she didn't have to do. Need some advice as to who to see? Dr. Libber is an absolutely amazing and compassionate pediatrician. I can't say enough kind words about him. He's been there since both my brother and I were young kids. Dr. Edwards became my pediatrician in 1997 when I turned 12 and she's absolutely amazing. Dr. Fassil, Dr. Conrad, and Dr. Lester are also both great doctors that I would highly recommend. Nichole Tucker who's a nurse practitioner is absolutely fabulous and goes the extra mile for her patients. Kendra Nagey who's another nurse practitioner is absolutely amazing and she also goes the extra mile. I've also never not had a return phone call from a nurse when I've had to call especially when the automated phone system makes you verify your phone number.

This review is about Conexus Laboratories, who we were told by Annapolis Pediatrics we HAD TO USE…read more That is a lie. They prefer you to use Conexus because it's less paperwork for them. Conexus Labs has a reservation application that is not functional. You do not have a reservation. You are a walk-in registered at the time you sign in there. So be prepared to wait. Do not make a reservation thinking you will be done in an hour - you will still be waiting. I find it ridiculous that I was lied to about not being able to use LabCorp (specifically asked and was told no) and then lied to by Conexus about having a reservation.
