Ask the Community - Elizabeth King Electrolysis

For electrolysis on gray hair (chin area), what prep is needed before procedure?

The length has to be at least an 1/8 of an inch, so once treated the hair can be removed with a tweezer.

How much is a 15 min. appointment for non-bikini area?

I originally scheduled a Clear and Brilliant treatment and decided to explore additional options during my visit. Janeen made the entire experience exceptional. She greeted me warmly and even recognized me from visits years ago at the Mountain view location.. That level of attention made me feel valued as a long term client. Her professionalism, knowledge, and customer service stand out. She explained the new treatments clearly, including Potenza and Rejuran Pro, and answered all of my questions with confidence and care. Because of her, I purchased a new treatment package and look forward to getting started. I now live in San Mateo, and that location is less than ten minutes from my home. Even so, I am willing to drive to Mountain View for the level of service Janeen provides. LaserAway Mountain View is fortunate to have her on the team. Thank you, Janeen, for such a positive experience. I am excited for my upcoming treatments and future visits.

I ended up paying much more than what was first mentioned, and once I signed the financing, I was told I could not cancel. They gave me no other option but to keep paying, whether or not I continued the treatments. On my last session, I suffered a burn on my leg. This shows not only a lack of professionalism but also how unsafe and careless their treatments are. A company that misleads clients about pricing, traps them in financing with no flexibility, and then delivers treatments that cause physical harm is completely unacceptable. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Please think twice before trusting them with your health and money.

Such a welcoming and genuine place!…read more I've been thinking about Botox and fillers for a long time but honestly knew nothing about the process. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely comfortable. Louise at the front desk was so sweet and knowledgeable--she explained the different services clearly and was very transparent about her own experiences, which I really appreciated. Maryam did my first ever lip filler, and she was amazing. She has such an energetic and comforting manner and never once made me feel pressured to do more than what I wanted. She really focused on understanding my goals and made sure they were met. Throughout the appointment, she explained everything she was doing and checked in to make sure I loved the results. The whole experience felt effortless and supportive. Everyone there is beautiful and inviting, not superficial at all. You can tell they genuinely want you to feel happy and confident with yourself, not just sell you more product. I already booked my next appointments with Maryam and can't wait to come back. I absolutely love this place

During our consultation she was pretty much trying to "judge" whats wrong with my skin/face and wanted to upsell facials and other treatments. She was very pushy and I didnt feel comfortable continuing anymore since I felt like I wasnt being heard and she said "you cannot start the treatments without committing to facials" despite explaining that I have an actual derm I see regularly. The whole interaction just felt very uncomfortable knowing that this lady whos not a medical professional is giving medical advice?? I have gone to other medspas and I am a nurse myself so I see what she was doing. Super weird interaction, she seemed like a sales person just wanting to get commission badly..

The bloodwork…read moreindicated an abnormal value and i have serious side effects after starting her prescribed protocol. Dr. Gherman refused to provide further treatment, stating that I had violated protocol by exceeding the dose. When I offered to show how much I had used, she told me that that I had obtained a second dose of medicine from another person and that she would be calling the police. She didn't even try and make a referral for another physician. Does she want me to have a health problem? This is highly unethical. How can someone like that practice medicine? I do not know why the blood work levels are so high. My ankles are very swollen, I have gained a lot of weight, and my blood pressure was up. It is not caused by exceeding the dose. I don't know what caused this problem. I want to get treatment. I don't want to gain 20lbs of weight! I wanted to lose 5-10 lbs and now. I don't want swollen feet or high blood pressure. I don't know why it happened but it could be related to the hormone therapy that Dr. Gherman put me on and I want to understand my health better. I'm concerned about my health. I had a positive attitude about Dr. Gherman. I was always happy to see her, even up until the day that she concocted the story that I was exceeding the dose. When she asks "how are you?", I respond "happy to see you." I followed Dr. Gherman's instructed dose by taking the medication once weekly on the same day. One time, I took it two days late, but other than that, it was every Friday. I am completely current on all of my doses and have not exceeded the dose at all, nor have I taken external sources of medication, as Dr. Gherman falsely claimed. The health problem I have is swollen ankles. Dr. Gherman was too busy during our prior scheduled appointment (I came 5 minutes early). She did not give the medication she said she would give me to counteract the problem. In the most recent visit, she said that the reason I didn't get the medication was that I had run out in a hurry, but that wasn't true! I left because she was too busy and I came back as soon as we both could meet. I was on time and she was overbooked. We agreed that I'd come back as soon as possible, and I called soon to schedule an appointment at the earliest time. I was not upset that she was too busy; I was understanding and did not mind coming back. The office staff was friendly. It has a very strong smell of plug in air fresheners (which gives me asthma). But compared to the egregious medical malpractice, I can't say these details make a huge difference in the overall care I've received. I'm really concerned about my ankle swelling and bloodwork values and I want to make sure that I am doing everything under medical supervision. I have been clear about this to all of my doctors. But after I told my primary care doctor about starting treatment with Maria, he was upset because he did not want me to do hormone replacement treatment (my hormone levels were a bit low and much lower than normal). My primary care doctor won't treat my swollen ankles because I went to do hormone therapy with Maria and Maria won't treat me because she wrongly thinks I'm exceeding the dose. Both of these doctors are acting wrongly. Dr. Gherman came to the wrong conclusion. It's a plausible explanation for why my bloodwork was too high, but it's wrong. She can ask if I'm exceeding the dose. But if I say I'm not exceeding the dose, we should try to figure out what is going on with the bloodwork so that we can fix the issue. She should not conclude that I am lying and then proceed to make up a story about how I have exceeded the dose by obtaining from a friend. I don't know how or where to follow up with my condition. I am concerned about my health.
