I tried to get an appointment for chin hair removal. I emailed and called several times with no response. The wait time on their website for a first time appointment was 3 months out, I understand this as they have a large clientele. However, no one responded to my emails or my phone calls. I'm in business myself so I understand being busy, but not returning phone calls or emails is just rude and says they are not interested in my business. I suffer from PCOS which gives me a lot of unwanted facial hair. I was really suprised at how effect the process was for removal. She is also honest on certain areas being more sensitive, chin hair removal not painful at all for me. Removal from the cheek area stung a bit more but was nice to be forwarned. I honestly feel like it hurts less then getting my face waxed. She also has a very gentle hand. Every area shes removed hair from in 2019 has not grown back as of yet. Chrystal is the best I feel so lucky to have found her studio! She has a warm demeanor and is a great conversationist. It's a no judgement zone and you can really feel that the moment you step on the bed. She really makes sure you are comfortable throughout the whole (generally uncomfortable) process. As far as pain goes, it's up to the person, and I don't find it too bad, but she makes sure that you let her know when it is unbearable. Pricing is not too bad, you're paying for her time/expertise and she's good at what she does! I'm fair skinned and though a towhead as a child, my hair has definitely darkened over time. About a year ago, out of the blue, I started seeing 2-3 dark whisker type hairs on my chin plus crazy long and wiry grey hairs, yuk! I managed them by plucking, seemed like the obvious thing to do. Chrystal let me know plucking was exacerbating the problem as I was stimulating more growth, double yuk! Upon her examination, she found many more than the 2-3 dark whiskers I could see. I've had a couple sessions and it's all taken care of. It was easy, simple, quick, and she always talked me through what she was doing, what to expect sensation wise as well as ongoing. I started seeing Chrystal almost one year ago, and since then, I have seen a massive reduction in hair growth on my face. Before seeing Chrystal, I was very self conscious and embarrassed about my facial hair. I've known Chrystal for a few years now and have been working with her for electrolysis for a few months. She is the absolute best! First of all, Chrystal has been part of the fat activism/body liberation community for years, so she knows what's up when it comes to making marginalized people feel comfortable. I am 400+ pounds and often feel uncomfortable with beauty/health-related practitioners, but I felt right at home with Chrystal! She has a sturdy massage table to lie on while you get your treatments done and a sturdy step to get up on the table. Chrystal does a great job walking you through exactly what to expect with the electrolysis treatment, how it works, and exactly what she's doing as she does it until you feel more comfortable with the process. Note - it is NOT very painful in my opinion, and I am super anxious about physical pain. I handle it just fine. Less painful than waxing. Chrystal also is great about following up the next day to see how your skin reacted to the treatment. (Mine has always done great!) She really cares. Highly recommend!!! read more
