Sarah is a fantastic electrologist. I've had electrolysis before (the only way to permanently remove hair) and Sarah is the best electrologist I've experienced. I have chin hair due to hormonal changes and she removed it quickly and professionally. She used moderate strength during the electrolysis session and I barely felt anything. She also explained the process, how the upper lip area may be painful but to me it hardly hurt at all, and also explained that chin hair may take a year, at first every 2 weeks, then 1X a month, to permanently remove. Very informative which I appreciated, It was also helpful for her to explain what I should do post procedure (saline rinse with a cotton pad.). I began seeing Sarah in October '12. I originally started seeing her to lighten the facial load, so-to-speak. The results have been AMAZING, so I've moved on to other areas (good-bye, underarm hair!) Sarah is a professional all-around; even so, with such long and reoccurring appointments, I have really enjoyed chatting with her to pass the time. I would recommend that you take into account that Electrolysis requires more than just showing up and letting Sarah do her thing-- 1) take care of your skin. It will go berzerk, and if you don't already have an esthetician, you're going to want one! (Sarah has great recommendations there). 2) know the areas that you want hair removed from-- take a look in the mirror (get up close & as magnified as you can) a couple days after the treatment, and chat with Sarah about what you see. I went into electrolysis thinking it was as simple as just laying back and letting Sarah do her thing. She's amazing and has a good eye for what needs to be done, but of course it's your skin.... My opinion of Sarah and Bingham Electrolysis is mixed. The positives: She's fast - which I like - she charges you only for the time she actually works (even if that is a little less than what was scheduled) and she gives an option for paying by check or credit card. The in-betweens: I've had electrolysis a few times before and for whatever reason, it hurt much worse this time. When I first started, I asked her several times to turn down the current, but she and complained that turning it down would take longer for each hair. I was fine with that, but I guess she was not. I sucked it up and bought some skin-numbing cream on her recommendation, which helped a lot. On the more negative side, Sarah can be a little inflexible. She wanted to control whether or not I plucked a few stray hairs between treatments. I feel like my hairs are mine to do with as I want. I understood that plucking would lengthen the process (which I was ok with). She disagreed so strongly in spite of that and wanted to control me to a level I wasn't going to put up with. We eventually decided that it was better for me to find someone else to finish my treatments. read more

I have tried several different methods or "permanent hair removal over the years. The first that I tried was laser treatments, which after a year and a couple thousand dollars, I still did not have any permanent results, so a quit and got half my money back. I then tried electrolysis for 3 years. The results were better, but all of the facial hair on my upper lip and chin was still not "permanently" gone and I was getting frustrated. I heard about Sara from a friend who had started seeing her. I looked at her Yelp reviews, which were good, so decided to give her a try. She was very professional and took the time to explain her method thoroughly on my first visit. I have been seeing her for about 6 months, about once every 3-4 weeks. She has accomplished more in that time, than either of the other methods. The facial hair is practically gone and we have extended the visits to 6 weeks from now to clean up anything else that might pop up. I am very pleased with her work. I had some really annoying hair left over after doing laser hair removal, and Sarah took care of it as well as unwanted hair in other areas. She is really friendly and professional, and her office is always clean and comfortable. The electrolysis process took longer than I anticipated, but I could see results after each session. OMG! I have been seeing Sarah for the past year and she is amazing! I have struggled with waxing, plucking, laser etc over the past 15 years and I have finally found someone who can truly help me with this issue. I went in for a consultation exactly a year ago and I am exactly where Sarah said I would be in a year. During the consultation she was honest, knowledgeable, and detailed. She did not rush me and answered all of my silly questions. Sarah has been a lifesaver for me. I was at a point where I was so frustrated with facial hair and having tried laser once before (didn't work) that I knew I had to do Electrolysis. I called Sarah after reading her reviews on Yelp and she said she wasn't taking new patients at that time (this was Feb. 2013, she is taking new patients now because her old patients, like me :), don't need to come so often because of the awesome job she has done). I literally begged her and told her I'd be very accomodating in regards to when she can give me appointments, luckily she gave me an appointment. It has been one year that I've been going to Sarah and I'm so happy I found her. I don't have to do anything on my face anymore, I still go because I have stubborn hair that will take some more time to get rid of but I don't have do anything all week long between appointments. While Electroylsis is not a walk in the park, Sarah does everything to ease the pain. :) whenever I'm wincing she'll crack a joke to divert my mind, or bring up a topic to start a conversation. I always appreciate her thoughtfulness, our sessions are kind of therapeutic for me where I can talk about anything and she'll listen and not judge. I saw Sarah years ago to permanently remove hair around my eyebrows and it NEVER grew back! I saw her about 12 times and poof it was gone forever. Now I am back to get more hair removed in different areas. I see her every other week. I explained to her that I did not want any skin irritation for my wedding and honeymoon and sure enough she ensured that there wasn't. Sarah is a warm, bright, and honest person, a skilled electrologist, and also a Registered Nurse. After all these years I don't have to come very often, but she keeps stray hairs under control. The pain is not intense, and she gives me a numbing agent when she works in tough areas. I've been seeing Sarah for about a year and I can't recommend her highly enough. I had electrolysis a few times before from two other businesses and both times my skin reacted very severely after every appointment. So I was nervous and unenthusiastic about trying, yet again, with someone else. But I knew that I needed a permanent solution and couldn't go on with the ridiculous variety of temporary alternatives for unwanted facial hair that many of us are familiar with. Immediately Sarah was totally honest and straightforward about the process, the very reasonable price, and about the commitment needed from both sides to properly and permanently remove my unwanted hair. My skin never reacted badly after Sarah's treatments and after a period of time pretty much right on what she predicted, I no longer have to deal with a totally embarrassing hair situation that was only getting worse and making me feel self conscious all the time. She will make you feel at ease and comfortable, the pain is minimal, and her treatments really work. My facial hair is permanently gone, and the investment of time and money was a very small price to pay for the change in my self esteem, appearance, and life. What an awful experience. I went to Sarah about a year ago and I will never return. During the consultation I was promised that my needs would be fulfilled in about 12 appointments. After about 15 and little results I asked her and she blamed it on my hormones A few appointments latter she assured me that she had told me that I had been initially told I would need 12 months of appointments which would come out to be around $10,000. I was also promised that the procedure would become milder as I went through my appointments, but I found that the sessions only grew more unbearable and I eventually didn't come back. About halfway through my visits I began to get severe abysses filled with puss under my underarms where she was treating me. I was told not to pick at whiteheads if they appeared but finally one of them grew so large that it ruptured and spewed puss everywhere. Sorry for the graphic detail, but later they began to get more and more painful and I actually took a needle to them and squeezed all of the infected areas until the dime sized puss ball had squirted all over my bathroom. Not only am I tenancies by this experience, I also have large purple scars from the abyss that I didn't touch that I am on antibiotics for. Her workroom is tiny and she keeps it at extra me temperatures for each visit. It is normally freezing cold inside to the point where I was getting goosebumps during my treatment and she would stick the electrolysis needle into the bumps which caused extreme pain. I do not recommend that anybody put themselves through months of torment for almost no results and extra visits to the doctor. Sarah herself is for the most part when she isn't lying to you but I warn you. Stay away. read more

I've been going to Sarah for electrolysis treatment since 2006. I had gone to other electrolysis places before and knew that I would experience some pain/discomfort in certain areas (ie: upper lip). However, the difference was so stark when I had my first treatment with Sarah. Not only was she very fast in the areas she covered, the treatment was not as painful as I had experienced before. Sarah explained to me that the other places I had gone had used a method which did tend to be slower and more painful and scarred the skin more. She, however, used the thermolysis method which was less painful and allowed her to clear large areas much more quickly so that she could capture the re-growth (if any) that much faster. She was right in that she cleared my upper lip and neck area in a matter of months. From there, I decided to make the investment of time and money and keep going on with treatments. Over the next year, she tackled my eyebrow area, side facial area, and armpits. I then decided to keep going and have her begin my legs. She is working her way up and now we are working on the bikini area. My family members (male and female) also go to Sarah for treatment. We all agree that her services are not cheap compared to other electrolysis places. However, given that we have NEVER received amazing results at any of these places that Sarah achieves, it balances out. That is, if other practitioners are taking more time to remove the hair, you would be spending more anyway on the treatments anyway over a span of time. Sarah's efficiency and effectiveness is well worth the money and goes a long way in terms of how good you feel about yourself when you are not worrying about how hairy you may be. It has also freed up time and money that would be spent on plucking, tweezing, waxing, and other hair removal methods which are NOT permanent or effective. What I also love about Sarah is that she is extremely professional, kind, and accommodating. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable both physically and mentally given that she is working on some pretty personal areas of the body. She is always upfront about how long it may take to clear a certain area of the body and suggests scheduling of treatments with certain frequency so that there is minimal discomfort and visible results. She also gives plenty of notice with regard to fee changes, appointment time changes, etc. Based on my experience with other practitioners, Sarah is the best at what she does and her services are well worth the time and money if you are self conscious about hair growth like I was. read more

I've been going to Sarah - Bingham Electrolysis for years. I have had many parts of my body worked on - eye brows, arms pits, bikini line, toes, thighs. While it is a painful experience, I found it to be permanent. I started going through menopause and found very dark hair growing on my legs, darker than ever before. I chose to try laser b/c of the size of the area. It was sooooo expensive. I was able to purchase 6 treatments - about 1 year length, then got a 2 year warranty. I only wanted my knees and lower legs treated with laser. I went the 3 years and found it was "laser hair removal", not permanent hair removal. I had about 60% hair removal and had Sarah clean up the mess that laser couldn't fix. Sarah is efficient, fast, professional and an extra added bonus - a RN! I have referred many of my friends who have been very happy with their experience. I will continue to recommend Sarah and had compete confidence that all will be satisfied. I have been going to Sarah for over a year now and I'm glad that I found her. If I had known about Sarah before I went in for laser treatment I would have not invested my money into laser.
