This review is difficult to write because I gave this salon multiple chances and truly wanted to support them as a Pasadena local, but what started as disappointment over birthday nails turned into concerns about sanitation, professionalism, pricing, and customer treatment. Please consider looking at the photos of my nails an hour after they were done. I initially overlooked things because there was one employee in particular who was very kind and I kept hoping my experience would improve. Unfortunately, after several visits, I began noticing issues that became impossible to ignore. I observed sanitation and maintenance concerns that made me uncomfortable, including openings in walls with exposed plumbing, tools appearing to be reused between clients without proper visible sanitization, and a communal nail brush in the bathroom that was later used during service. This raised hygiene concerns for me personally. My birthday appointment was the turning point. I specifically requested Serena. During removal, my nails chipped significantly and I felt the service was rushed. I requested nail strengthening treatment and a simple French tip, but the final result was thick and not what I had asked for. When I politely said I was unhappy with the outcome, the response immediately became uncomfortable. Cameras were repeatedly referenced even though I was simply discussing the result of my nails and not disputing what happened. I was told that whatever I chose next "better be right" because they did not want me returning unhappy later. The repeated references to surveillance felt unnecessary and unrelated to the issue I was trying to address. There were also concerns about pricing. The posted pricing showed removal and regular polish charges, however I was charged more than expected and left confused about the final total. The polish reportedly applied "free of charge" did not feel free when the overall bill had already increased. After payment there was little acknowledgment, no effort to resolve concerns, and the interaction felt abrupt. When my husband later tried to discuss the pricing and service concerns, the conversation escalated further. Cameras were referenced again, we were directed to contact the owner, a phone number provided was unreachable, and the situation became increasingly hostile rather than solution focused. At that point it stopped being about the money and became about customer treatment. I gave this place multiple chances because there were staff members I genuinely liked and wanted to support. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. I would encourage management to focus on professionalism, sanitation transparency, customer communication, and handling feedback without escalation. For those looking in Pasadena, I would personally recommend seeking a salon with clearer pricing, stronger customer service, and a cleaner environment.

I visited Elite Nails on 7/16, and unfortunately, the service I received was extremely rude and unprofessional from the beginning. I asked for a simple gel manicure on my natural nails. The nail technician immediately had an attitude about how short my nails were and repeatedly insisted that I get acrylics. I clearly explained that I did not want acrylics and only wanted my natural nails painted. She continued to have an attitude throughout the service, complained while doing my nails, and then, when she finished, told me that I had "given her a hard time" because of the length of my nails. I found that extremely disrespectful, especially since I was simply asking for the service I requested. The pedicure experience was just as disappointing. I chose a color that I wanted, but the technician insisted that the color would not look good with my brown skin tone and tried to discourage me from using it. I found that comment inappropriate and unnecessary. My skin tone should never be a reason to tell me that I cannot or should not wear a particular color. The technician also used a nail file and nail drill on the bottoms of my feet to remove dead skin, but the service did not feel thorough or effective. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly asked questions about pricing in a way that made me feel as though she was questioning whether I could afford the services I was requesting. That was extremely uncomfortable and insulting. What also bothered me was hearing another customer speak disrespectfully to the nail technicians and tell them that she did not want them speaking their native language. I found that behavior rude and uncomfortable, especially because everyone deserves to be treated with respect regardless of what language they speak. Overall, I left feeling disrespected, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. Customers should be able to receive the service they request without being pressured into something else, judged based on their appearance or skin tone, or made to feel uncomfortable about pricing. Based on my experience on 7/16, I unfortunately would not recommend Elite Nails. read more

Wow!!!! So I came today to get my spa mani + pedi and omg! They remodeled! It was unexpected and I love it. I love the change so much. It was kind of busy because I guess the little shop is getting more popular. They changed their floors, chairs, everything! The price is a little more expensive, probably by $1-2. The change in price is not bad at all, I understand that since they're remodeling and renovating. And I also heard that they're still remodeling too. I haven't seen any of the other nail shops near by that remodeled recently. I came in and I got my nails done by Van and Linda. My nails feel so clean and refreshed. I had them cut shorter than I usually have them and I wanted a clear pink tint to my nails. It's essentially a clear color with a little tad of pink to it. I just went in and out and I'm satisfied! I have finally, finally, FINALLY found a nail salon where I am 100% happy. I loved the interior designing of this place and was definitely surprised by the outside. I didn't smell the obnoxious nail salon smell that is so prevalent at other establishments. I loved the color scheme and the massage chairs! I also didn't see one speck of dirt anywhere on the floors. The tools are sterilized and fresh. SUPER IMPRESSIVE. I loved how the owner walked around to see how the stations were doing and if anything was needed. Although the first time I was here the owner had on a gloomy face and yelled at her employees, such a no no. Helen took her time working on my pedicure. I really appreciated that! I'm a San Fran native so I don't know much about LA. I was stopping by Glendale Galleria and decided to get my nails done here. I was hesitant by reading some of the negative Yelp reviews but I saw that the Google reviews were extremely positive. I thought about how cheap the prices were and decided to stop by. I am so glad I found a hidden gem here in Pasadena! I was a walk-in and had my nails done very quickly by Linda. I really enjoy getting gel-x and gel polish here!! They also have eyebrow waxing services which I occasionally get and it makes a huge difference. I like coming here on the week days during morning/afternoon when it's less busy but always fast and easy service. Never had a problem and my nails always last for over a month and I always get compliments. I make sure to have notes and reference photos of exactly what I want (style, length/size, notes on anything like if I have a slightly broken nail). This is a cute little nail salon. I've been to others and this is my favorite. I don't Always make an appointment and I tend to get different people, so I have been with every nail Tech here. I get fills every few weeks and pedicures and I am always happy with the results. Not to mention their prices are great. Everyone who works here is super nice.
