The women who posted about them taking too long and paying $64.00, well I was in the salon at the same time and not only did she have gel which cost more, she also had sugar scrub and callous remover which also cost extra so yes your bill would be around $64.00 read more

Pre-pandemic, they had a lot more employees and willing to bend back and forth to get you in. Nowadays, make sure you have an appointment. This is a mom and pop shop that's been here for over 30 years, so their methods and processes are a little old fashion. Don't get me wrong, pedicure and manicure are all done properly, but just don't expect the newest trend coming out of here. read more

Best way to describe is that it's like gel but slightly different because they are using a powder dip. I keep coming to this place since it's geographically close to home, but every time I come here, I regret not going somewhere else. I've never made appointments at a nail salon but at this place, you HAVE to make an appointment. Apparently, this place is sooooo busy that if you don't, you'll have to wait at least (AT LEAST) 30 minutes. And that's on a good day. I decided to come on a Tuesday, avoiding the weekend crowd. I still ended up waiting 30 minutes at a place that is fully staff. On the bright side, the staffs all spoke English and are all very courteous and nice. Unlike most nail salons I've been to, most of the workers would talk obnoxiously loud in their language. At this place, the workers are professional. No inappropriate comments or behaviors from the workers and the clients. This made up for the waiting time. The result of their work unfortunately is very inconsistent. Sometimes they're really good and other times, it's bad. More bad than good. Even when it's good, I wasn't super happy with how my nails turned out. There's always an obvious flaw somewhere. For a regular medi and pedi with no additional services is $35. Other places are a lot cheaper and faster. For instance, Exotic nails (two blocks away) is only $25. I went to C and L for the first time today for a manicure and pedicure. I will definitely be a repeat customer! I was at a restaurant last week and started talking to a woman who is a regular at C and L. I'm so glad that I started talking to her because I got just what I wanted. The pedicurist (Lem) was not rough on my feet and, unlike every other pedicurist I've seen, did NOT attempt to scrub areas that did not have calluses. The manicurist was also very good. read more

We were in desperate need of a pedi on a late Friday night and C & L were open. Past their normal time. I usually pay around $17 for a pedi and they charged $23, but I thought it was worth it. It was a spa pedi so you got to sit in a big, massage chair. The lady doing the pedi did a great job and the leg and foot massage was excellent. Will I return? I would say so... read more

I have been going to C&L nail shop for almost 30 years. They are very friendly and do a nice job on your nails.

My nail place for over 10 years had closed down so I thought to give this place a try. Was I ever disappointed! The manager handled my acrylic fills and before she had started I said, "I like my nails short and square. As she was about to finish with the filing, I noticed how the shape was not even close to what I had in mind. I told her that I was unhappy with the shape. In return she gave me a typical defensive response how it's my fault for not telling her I didn't want them narrow. After a few moments of silence, she took out her kit to make my nails look square the way I had requested. Of course the service came with an unsolicited educational how I should tell the technician next time that I wanted my nails "square"! ‍ hmmm I thought that's what I had said the moment I sat down!! ‍ Long story short, i had requested gel polish, but since she had to correct her mistake and redo my acrylic, SHE decided I should get regular polish instead! She even charged me $3 extra for something that should had been done right the first time!! She definitely didn't deserve the tip I left either!! I will definitely not be going back there, ever!! read more

Very close to where I live, which I love. I recommend an appointment during peak hours due to how busy they get. My first stop here there was about an hour wait. I left and cam back the next day at a slower time (no appointment). They employ a lot of people so service is quick. I was able to get a mani/pedi at the same time. They offer a nice variety of nail colors to choose from. The chairs, decor, and over all business is very clean and well maintained. 5 stars to the lady who did my pedi! She was very gentle, thorough, and made pleasant conversation. My pedi has lasted very long. I will ask for her if I go back. The lady who did my mani was a bit rude, rushed, and irritated when I asked her to fix a nail she messed up on. She got polish all over my cuticles, too. She started off nice but then keep huffing and shaking her head whilst she fixed my nail and cuticles. I will avoid her when I go back. I take off a star because of her. I recommend this spot! If you have an issue with one person, don't let it deter you. They have so many on staff. I will definitely be back :) read more

It doesn't matter where you go, they're going to talk behind your back in their native language anyway, why not go to a place that does a decent job? C&L Nail Shop met my expectations and provided the services that I came looking for. I wanted a pedicure, and that is exactly what I got. The experience was relaxing, and they did a thorough job. I came into the shop first thing when they opened, and it was already full of people (given, it was the weekend.) I was still able to get in as a walk-in without a wait, which was excellent because I had work at 11:30. My usual place in Sierra Madre is cheaper and offers a foot scrub with their pedicures, but since C&L was closer to my home I thought I would give them a try. I would definitely be back if I'm ever in a pinch because they do an excellent job. My only qualm would be the parking, it's small and fills up quickly! read more

I'm battling with the rating and the overall influence is poor customer service... I almost made it a two and pending on how long my gel mani lasts I may come back and adjust the rating. There are waaaaaaaayyyyy too many things going on. They are doing pedi and manis at the pedi bowls and normally that would be a good thing but bc of space they are on top of each other and literally she tried to polish my nails on top of my jeans... Are you serious?! Then there are so many people doing more than one thing... I started out with one person closed my eyes and then she was gone and then she came back and then I closed my eyes and she was gone again and minutes liter someone else appeared and there was no conversation of why... She was apparently rushing and her "bowl side manner" was not the best.... She quickly told me she knew what she was doing... Again, are you serious?! I think she's the manager and her name is Lisa... She didn't talk to "other" people the way that she talked to me ... So much stimuli that is funny... The guy who was doing my pedicure was so caught up in what was TV I think he forgot he was doing a pedicure - he was really relaxed about it and every-time i opened my eyes & as he noticed he would put a little more mmmph in what he was doing.... Like clockwork. He was nice and a lady who did the lady's pedicure next to gave me a cookie, she was so sweet and I loved the way she was engaging. My sister-in-love swears by this place so I'm sure it's better on most days however my experience is truly a 2 however the clean space and modern fixtures made me bump it up. Ohhhh they were soooo consumed with getting me out of the chair he barely got my shoes on before cleaning the bowl with my still sitting down... He asked me to move my pants over and commenced to start spraying bleach .... My pants better not come up with no spots later... Again... A interesting experience and I'm not that impressed with the nail job and the pedi was okay. Gel mani is a little clunky and as you can see on pic with two nails things that should have clearly been a part of cuticle remover were still there in the end... Sigh. Oh... My water was NOT warm enough and they blamed it on the water heater and basically kept moving on like I had to suck it up. A regular just came in complaining of the opposite and from the back comes a pitcher of water of her choice to balance it out... Everyone here is super friendly. It's clean. They recently added massage pedicure chairs which definitely took things up a level. I love the gel manicures, they last two weeks, and they always paint the French lines on straight. Surprisingly this is unusual.
