I started going here right after covid restrictions let up, and while still a little cautious, it was nice to see that they were still practicing social distancing and requiring masks. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. I try to make the appointments when I can, but sometimes that unexpected occasion comes up where you just need to get in, and this is why I say they are very accommodating. Tina is my go-to she always does a fantastic job. Hard to forget my experience at this nail parlour earlier this week. But well worth the effort! The older woman I had didn't/couldn't communicate AT ALL. I put my ear buds in when I realised. It was hard relaxing otherwise. Often loud and shouty workers conversations across the room. Felt like their private house party at times. I needed to ask for the massage remote! She never tested nor asked me if the foot-soaking water was the right temperature. A mistake. It was super hot. She added some cold and just indicated for me to put my feet in. Again, didn't test it herself. It was still hot. I didn't feel comfortable asking for more cold to be added. It is her job to make sure the water is comfortable for any client. I had to ask her to be more gentle when cutting. Twice she hurt with her small clippers getting into corners. Enough for me to say 'ouch!' out loud as a warning to be more careful. She left all my initial clippings on the towel while she proceeded. I flicked them off with my foot. Never seen such laziness before. Was the emery board brand new for me? The nail clippers sanitised? They certainly weren't unwrapped, just removed from the rolling trolley. She spent quite some time in conversation, listening to another worker talking or reading what she was being shown on that person's smart phone! Not even looking at what she was filing at times. She just got up and left when she realised I was only having the basic pedi without nail paint - I was experimenting with the salon before making that decision. Glad of that. I don't think she deserved a tip at all. But I've never not tipped in my life, and usually generously. I felt she deserved nothing so it was minimal. The pricing was good, that's my one positive. I'd rather have paid twice as much for comfort, respect, politeness and communication. On my return home I realised that half my toe nails had ragged ends so actually found myself smoothing them out with my own board as they were catching on my socks in places. I've never had such an experience. Nor have I EVER written a bad review. There are other nail parlours around the neighbourhood. I've been to friendlier, cleaner and far more experienced. It was an impulsive (bad) decision to try this place at all. Nb. The floor could also do with a GOOD CLEAN in places. I'd hesitate to put a bare foot down in the corner where I was sitting for fear of catching who knows what? Some of their moveable chairs are old, worn with plastic peeling. The overall effect I found rather grim NB for the record, I wrote this review yesterday and posted it. It has since DISAPPEARED! How can that even happen I ask myself? So I shall re-write because it's a current opinion from a disaffected party and I think it may be helpful for some Yelp readers wanting and needing good, friendly and consistent nail and beauty treatment. My 3 month affair with this nail salon ended today when I discovered fungus growing under my toenails!!! I came here once a month for a mani/pedi and was just about due for an upkeep, until I noticed darkened areas on both big toes where the nails had outgrown the polish. I immediately removed the polish to reveal what is shown in the attached photo. Gross!!!! Completely disgusted. I don't normally get my nails done, but when I do, I have pretty high expectations. About a month ago, I had a wedding to attend and was in dire need of a manicure. I found this spot and was able to get a same-day appointment close to the wedding venue. When I got there, it was packed! Everyone and their mothers were there for manicures and pedicures. I had to wait quite a bit after my reservation time, but I wasn't too bothered by it. By the time it was my turn, the ladies were very nice and got started with me promptly. Service was quick and prompt. Pricing is very reasonable too. My only issue is the polish near the cuticle - it's not rounded off very nicely and looks a bit sloppy. It's not as noticeable when it's done, but becomes more and more as the nails grow out. Longevity is great though - manicure still holding up great after a month! First time trying this nail salon and I'm so happy I did. I got a mani and pedi with Judy. She is excellent! Very kind, took her time and yet it was very quick. Prices are great, the salon is very clean, the massage chairs are new and so are the nail polishes. Staff is very friendly and nice. As I was there, a 94 year old man went to get his pedicure and I was impressed on how nicely he was treated, Michael did his pedi and it was very gentle with him. The salon is a bit hidden, it's on the far right side of Rite Aid, so plenty of parking spots. It's right by the best gelato in Altadena and some other shops. Not a great first visit at all. I went in around 6:40 pm after a long day at work, and I needed to get my nails done for my daughter's college graduation. I asked them if it was not too late for them to do a mani/ pedi and one of the women said it was okay (although I think she only heard me say pedicure). Mike and the woman began talking amongst themselves and his tone sounded like he was complaining. When he asked what color I wanted and I showed him the color for the mani and a separate color for the pedi, he began complaining for the sake of humiliating me in front of the other customers. He asked " Are you gonna pay for my overtime?!" I then told him to forget the manicure and just do the pedicure, since he had already started on it. My pinkies and thumbs are not the same length!! Furious!!! I called them and spoke to who I was told was the manger -I didn't get her name. I had to explain to her 4-5 times what my issue was her response was well you did something for your nails to break or they were too thin, I told her yes the tech made them thin and long! I walked in and it was a standard salon. Nothing fancy shmancy about it...very typical. You could tell it was new (at this point they've been open three months) but there wasn't anything that stood out. It's tucked away in a strip mall and not visible from the street for when/if you go. I was greeted (but sort of snickered at) by a woman - not knowing by WHO of course since I'd never been there - and asked for Judy since she'd been highly rated on Yelp. Felt a bit foolish when I found out Judy was the one who greeted me but nonetheless that's not how you greet a customer new OR old. I picked my colors and they directed me to a chair for my mani/pedi. An upside is that it was very clean. They had a liner in the pedicure tub that they later removed (never saw that before) and used a new package of nail equipment vs. barely running some disinfectant over already used tools. That part was REALLY nice. When my nails were soaking they even had these cute little bowls that are meant for your hand to rest ON...not just a bowl to stick your fingertips into which was a nice surprise. I had gel on my nails and wanted to get a regular mani. BE WARNED it's $5 to get them removed and not get get again...way more than I'd ever paid for. OK...moving on... PEDI - Judy worked on my feet. You could tell she was taking her time to make sure it was perfect. Or so it seemed. They were ALMOST perfect...when she was cleaning them up with the brush at the end she swiped a little too much off the top of my big toe and then didn't go back and fill it back in. Not good. Minus one star. MANI - Mike was VERY friendly which was refreshing to be able to actually hold a conversation outside of just small talk. He made sure to ask me if the shape was good but somehow the shapes still didn't turn out the same from one finger to the next. And at what point are you like 'forget it' or tell them to hand over the nail file?! I just figured I'd fix it at home to my liking. There were little things that made me very unsatisfied with my manicure. The edges of my nails weren't completely filed down - there were frays still at the end that he didn't clean up on a couple fingers, the shape (already discussed), and then the application wasn't perfect either...it just felt sloppy. I came home and fixed them...just sucks leaving feeling like I could have done better myself for $0. Minus another star. A pet peeve of mine, and this happens 95% of the time, is when all the employees are speaking in their native tongue while you're there. Mike is an exception but no one else tried to engage me in English. This probably makes me sound like a stuck up American but at the same time I'm sure it crosses everyone's mind who aren't fluent in their native laguage....Instead they were chuckling away in Vietnamese (in this case anyways) which of course makes you paranoid that they're just taking jabs at you. Maybe not and I'm assuming which makes me an a-hole but still. I stood at the front counter while two employees (one looking in my direction) just continued chatting away which was annoying. I had to ask to pay in order to get assistance. It's not a bad place...but for a perfectionist like me, I'll stick to the salon by my house instead. read more

My nails look SUPER good and she is such a professional! I love it!! I'm not from this area but I've heard great things about this place and I thought I'd give it a shot. This place was very nice. I went for the first time a couple of days ago to remove my acrylics. The woman who took care of me was a bit rough with the removal, as she didn't soak my nails in acetone like people normally do. It was a bit unpleasant but the rest of my experience here was very nice. The manicure looked lovely, and she really took her time shaping my nails. She was very sweet, and was very thorough by cleaning the access polish off of my cuticles. I would recommend this place, and will definitely be back. read more

This is a wonderful nail salon! I have tried many places looking for the right fit - distance, quality, lasting polish - and this place is just right! I read some snarky reviews, and what I may add is that loyalty goes both ways. This is a nicer place, and it helps to make an appointment sometimes (I usually walk in), tip well, be polite, and come back. If you show up without an appointment and everyone is busy: it's going to take a while. That said, I usually get acrylics and polish, and occasionally a spa pedicure and gel polish. My polish whether it's gel or regular consistently looks well past the two week mark, and in over a year I have never lost a nail unless I had it replaced on purpose. They are gentle on my hands, and never rude to me. The technicians talk to each other, they are kind to clients, and the salon is very clean. They always have the jazz station on, and it is very calm. All together: this is a great place! read more
