We worked very closely with Q, who managed our project. He was always very responsive to our messages, kept us involved in the process, and was receptive whenever we had questions or wanted to switch something up. Dan, the owner, is incredibly talented, patient, and kind. He spent hours helping us refine our…read moreideas and improve the design, essentially eliminating the need for a separate landscape designer. He never made us feel rushed or pressured. After meeting with several high-pressure landscaping companies, working with Dan was a breath of fresh air. Once the project started, we met Hector, the foreman, along with Tito and Marcos. They are hardworking, genuine people who clearly enjoy what they do. Over the two-week project they removed heavy roots, took down a large tree, prepared the ground, installed plants, created a beautiful rock garden, added a sprinkler system and lighting, and repaired and painted the fences. Our backyard was transformed from a messy "jungle" into a neat, beautiful oasis. One thing that really stood out: after the job was technically finished, Dan and his crew came back early the next morning to reposition two 300-plus-pound rocks so everything was exactly how we wanted it. Thank you, Dan, Hector, Tito, and Marcos.

He gave me an excellent price for replacing the 4 valves that controlled my front sprinkler system, fixing a broken pipe damaged by a tree root and installed a new sprinkler controller. The work was professionally done. Then, I asked him to look at my back sprinkler system which for months was no longer watering adequately. After looking over the sprinklers and doing a flow test, he determined that I had a blockage somewhere in pipe running through the house to the back. I quickly identified where the blockage was (a water filter system) and took it out of service, which restored my system to normal functioning. I would never have thought of that without his expertise. For quality work, price and expertise, he cannot be beaten in my estimation.

We feel like we're on vacation every day spending time in our backyard! Tristan designed and oversaw our project and he was a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job. His design was way better than what we'd been thinking, it looks so good. He was always easy to get ahold of, was really patient with the various changes we kept making, and made sure that every detail was taken care of so that we were totally happy with the end result. I also really appreciated how he always suggested cost effective options to help us stick to our budget. And to top it all off, at the end they realized we'd overpaid by $1000 and sent us a check we hadn't even asked for or realized we were due! We highly recommend Modern Yardz; I don't write a lot of reviews but Tristan and his team did such a great job that they deserved a glowing review.

The fire pit installed by this company exploded into my girlfriend's face. We had an independent professional company come out to inspect the unit and the gas line. Their findings were shocking: the gas connection was completely loose. This negligence allowed gas to build up inside the fire pit structure, which caused it to explode upon ignition. Because of the physical injuries sustained and the absolute gross negligence regarding a gas installation, we are now taking this company to litigation. If you value the safety of your home and your family, stay far away from this business. A "loose connection" on a gas line is not just a mistake--it is a deadly hazard. We are currently in the process of legal action to hold them accountable for the damage and trauma they have caused. Zero stars. Avoid at all costs.
