Then we remembered seeing 535 Plumbing trucks often parked downstairs and at other buildings nearby, and gave them a call. They asked my husband for some photos, gave him an estimate, and sent someone over that afternoon. The plumber was running late but kept us informed about when he would be arriving. Once he got here, he was very courteous, professional, and did what he had to do. He answered our questions clearly in layman's terms for us to understand. A second plumber stopped by briefly to help him. We paid what was originally quoted to us. We were very satisfied with the quality of work done and now have a new favorite go-to plumbing company to call on!

We messaged 535 Plumbing here on Yelp about the broken handle on our main water shutoff valve, a…read morevalve their company installed about six years ago. We sent a photo and were quoted $299 for a handle replacement, in writing and by voicemail. They scheduled the appointment and arranged for the Board of Water Supply to shut off our water. Two techs showed up. One looked at the valve without digging it out. The other, who hadn't even talked to the first tech, went straight to quoting my husband $1,500 to replace the whole valve. When my husband asked why the price jumped, he wouldn't explain. When my husband brought up the $299 quote, the tech became hostile, yelled profanity at him, and vaped on our property. I called the office, and they confirmed the $299 handle quote. After the techs left, the one who had looked at the valve called and told us they don't do handle replacements, and that our water couldn't be turned back on until we agreed to replace the valve, even though no one had touched it. He offered a "discount" on the valve job. He came back later and said he wasn't sure how the original installers had done the job, even though it was his own company's work. He never gave a reason the handle couldn't be replaced beyond "we don't do that." A manager then showed up, said they'd turn the water back on and that we should find someone else to fix it, and left without explaining anything. We weren't charged, but we lost a morning without water and still have a broken valve. Between the bait-and-switch feel of the quote, the refusal to explain, and the way my husband was treated, we won't be using 535 Plumbing again. If you hire them, get the scope and price in writing, and don't expect them to honor it

Had to complain to the front office before the field representative would return my calls. Seems he was always on vacation. Servpro failed to give estimates before starting the remediation job. The field representative kept saying the front office will be sending me an estimate to do the remediation work. After the remediation was completed, I finally received a $5,000+ bill. I never received an estimate. Servpro also sent inaccurate billing to me and the insurance company. After I settled with the insurance company, Servpro sent me a higher estimate for repairs. Because of Servpro's mistake, I received a few thousand less from the insurance company. Buyer beware of Servpro. The only good thing is Servpro agreed to delay payment because my bank put a hold on the insurance company's check for 8 business days. Getting paid was Servpro's only strong point.

Ive called a few places, and this company has some pros and cons…read more First, Josiah was the plumber and seemed really nice, friendly and knew what he was doing. He changed my toilet and knew where the leak was emerging from which was great. The cons, they are a bit pricey--and I had gotten a few quotes from other plumbers but they did a 28$ fee to come see the issue and then gave a verbal estimate about the repair cost. They came the same day I called and was extremely responsive. The cost to change a toilet, remove my toilet. Fix the leak and assess the damage was 1375. Which is a pretty penny. Other competitors, ive got estimates of 500-700 for just toilet installation (not to fix the leak) and 175 an hour on top of additional fees with slower response time. So I guess it varies between response time, quality and a gamble. I did tell him that I had a budget and if he could work out the cost with me. So that was nice. Would I call them again? Maybe for the customer service.

Our solar experience with Solar Services Hawaii has been subpar. Initially, we were excited to…read morelessen our carbon footprint and lower our electricity costs while providing HECO with energy. Unfortunately since enlisting the services of this company, our system has shut down intermittently a few times since October 2020. Currently, the solar system has been inoperative for four months. And our costs have once again increased. Each time this an issue occurs, we contact the manager who tells us that someone can make an assessment soon. Invariably, it takes weeks before an assessment is made. Typically, the issue can be a simple reboot or connection problem. However, we have been told that the installed battery system to our home is new to them; and they must contact the mainland based manufacturer to repair the issue. This can create a time zone disparity; thereby making it difficult for Solar Services Hawaii to contact the manufacturer for assistance. Really? This must be the reason why we haven't heard ANYTHING from the company in four months. Regrettably, I cannot give Solar Services Hawaii a positive review, and highly discourage prospective customers from selecting this company to install and maintain their solar systems.
