I highly recommend getting fit by Christian, longtime owner of Elite Feet. I went to three other shops looking for boots as mine were causing shin bang. I ended up buying my new atomic boots here yesterday. After testing them out all day, I returned for some minor adjustments which Christian quickly took care of. Christian has a broad boot selection and selected multiple boots for me to try on. He offers a great value. He does not charge for his fitting time or push upsells (as many other boot fitters do). He just charges for the boots. He works magic with the boots to make them a perfect fit. And he is easy to work with and very flexible. read more

I went to Elite Feet at Squaw Creek today to get some custom setup done on boots that I had just purchased online. I had purchased boots and had fittings done before at their Northstar location (no longer there), so I knew these guys know their stuff! I found out that my new boots have "Gripwalk" soles, a new standard in the last few years that is NOT compatible with older bindings. But the front and rear soles on the bottom of the boot "can" be replaced with the older style "Mountain DIN". Since I have several pairs of skis, I didn't want to replace ALL of my bindings, and one guy DID find the replacement soles to make it work!! AWESOME! Remy was the main guy I worked with, and he really knew his stuff and presented options. Highly Recommended!!! read more

I had a great experience buying ski boots here! I've purchased repeatedly from Elite Feet over the years. My old boots were packed out, so I knew it was time, but when a buckle sheared off it became a more immediate need. I tried to go to the old Northstar village location of Elite Feet where I'd had great success in the past, but it's a new shop with different folks, offering super expensive custom fittings and not offering my preferred brand. I headed over to the Resort at Palisades' Elite Feet shop, where they were kind, helpful, and did just what I wanted: got me the newer, higher performance version of my old boots. They confirmed fit, did a great heat-custom-molding of the inner lining, removed the "spoiler" that made the calf area thicker (my calves needed more space), adjusted my bindings to fit the boots (remember to bring your skis!), and sent me off to give the boots a try on the slopes: offering adjustments if I needed them. Wow! these guys are good and care about the boot fitting your feet well. When it comes to skiing, this is HUGE! I got a new pair of Salomon boots during a blow out sale this past year and we first did the inner boot working through some pressure spots and this made such a difference compared with my old Lange boots. I immediately skied in way more comfort. The location at Squaw is quite convenient to the slopes plus the after ski lounge with live music and cocktail bar for an Irish coffee or hot toddy. read more

My family has purchased 4 pairs of ski boats from Christian over the last few years at both NorthStar & Squaw. My son is 12 and growing like a weed & each season I've gone back to Elite Feet fully prepared to buy him new boots. At each Elite Feet location the guys have told be that he didn't need new boots (they easily could have sold me new ones) and they have made some free adjustments to the fit & we were on our way. I've had custom fir boots from SureFoot and the boots Elite Feet fit me with are are just as good, if not - better. Boy was I taken for a ride by these guys. After years of telling myself I'd buy boots to stop the torture of random rentals, I caved in. After all, if you like hitting the slopes then good boots are like an investment in your skiing. And after a particularly horrible day with boots that just didn't fit, I caved and figured new boots were worth it if they saved the rest of my trip. I walked in that winter night with a friend. Two lonely salesmen descended like vultures on fresh roadkill. They diligently measured our feet and brought out plastic skeletons of feet to show us the science behind what they're selling. They talked like true professors. They showed us boots for $400, then $500, then $600. We wanted equipment that would last us years, so the price wasn't much of an obstacle. Well the proof would be on the slopes. The next day they felt just as bad as rentals, unless they were unbuckled to the point of being a pair of vans. We went back and were assured by the staff that it was perfectly normal and they needed to just break in. If I was smart, I would have just returned them then and there. I would have returned these sucker-bilking machines and washed my hands of it. But no. I thought I had the boots that would work and believed what he said about breaking in. The next time I hit the slopes was the next season and the other coast. The boots fit so badly that I started having cramps in my feet. I took them into a boot guy in the village. He measured my feet. He looked at the boots. "These aren't for you at all." I was a little incredulous. My perfect boots properly fitted at great expense at a supposedly awesome shop. But then came the kicker. "You should really invest in some good boots. They'll last you years." Hadn't I already done that? Apparently not. Another weekend I was skiing with some friends who are hardcore skiers. They ski patrol at various mountains. They have different skis for different conditions. They know gear. After an early morning run through some glades we were waiting in the lift line. The guy whose skis I had borrowed turned to me. "You know, if you want to ski like this you should splurge on at least a solid pair of boots." The latest blow came when buying boots for my fiancee. We went to a Master Fit University (basically actual professors of boot fitting) guy near us. While she was being measured and prodded I asked the guy doing the fitting. He looked at my feet. When I told him what boot I had he sort of grimaced. "That's not what somebody like you should ski in." He rattled off a whole bunch of points about width and stiffness that I can't possibly remember. And then the worst of it. "If you want to really invest in a solid pair of boots, I'd..." I thought I had already invested. But apparently I'd been taken. How are the boots? They are absolutely tortuous. They only way I can ski in them is to loosen them up to the point where they don't actually fit. So congratulations, Elite Feet. I was an innocent little lamb, fat with naiveté. You were a cunning jackal, who successfully slaughtered my wallet. And I'm safely across the country, far enough to never bother you with any reasonable claim to fix these horrible things or have you stand by your sale. I bought my boots from Elite Feet a few seasons ago, & they needed an adjustment (were causing me pain in the toe area). I wasn't sure if an adjustment would even help....but Remi fixed all of the issues. New soles & an adjustment did wonders! I have now purchased two pair of boots from Elite Feet and sent countless friends there. The service is excellent. Christian, Jeremy and the rest of the team are experienced, confident and knowledgeable. Plus, its the same group of guys year after year - and they remember you. Their custom fitting expertise is unmatched, plus I love going in once in a while when I need to repair a buckle or just get something tweaked on my boots. Elite Feet happens to be the only shop on the west coast that stocks the special hard snowboard boots that I wear. That was my original motivation for visiting, but I have come to learn that they are even more expert with ski boots. Every single friend I've sent there has come away happy. Elite Feet's prices will not be the cheapest you'll find. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Elite Feet stands behind what it sells and will make you a happy customer. First time down hill biking at Northstar, my friends and I arrived with nothing but helmets and awesome looking jersey's. =P Only one of us, Rey M., was ready to go with a full faced helmet and nearly full body armor. Unfortunately, only wearing a helmet and the coolest jersey on the planet won't protect you from the hazards of flying over your handle bars or even smashing into a tree. Not quite being the young-gun I used to be, my fears of breaking bones and tearing flesh got the best of me and decided to gear up at Elite Feet. Walking in , we were immediately greeted by Christian, who was very helpful. He knew exactly what we needed to survive a day of blood, sweat and gears! He was very knowledgeable and honest about the equipment we were inquiring about. In the end, I walked out with a full-faced helmet and elbow guards. I ended up purchasing shin and knee pads elsewhere only because they didn't carry my size. Surprisingly, I didn't pay an arm-and-leg for my purchases (no pun intended). They were quite fair from competitive prices I've seen online. Thankfully, my friends and I walked away unscathed. If I ever need to replace my equipment, I would definitely pay this shop another visit if I were in town. read more

Jeremy at Elite feet was recommended to me by a friend who has been a squaw valley local for over 15 years. I grew up on ski team and am very pick about my equipment. Jeremy is highly educated and an expert in his field. My old boots caused me a lot of pain and he took the time to thoroughly explain their shortcomings and advise me on a better boot for my unique (abnormally low profile) foot. He is not only very smart about what he does, he is also incredibly passionate. It was obvious that the sale of boots was second to making sure that I had the perfect boot for me. There was a moment where he didn't know if they had my size in stock and recommended I go somewhere else if necessary. Wow. What a fail. I had a pair of 27.5 Nordicas for years that had a Surefoot custom liner. The liner was packed out, and my feet had actually changed shape and size over the years, so I went to Elite Feet for a fitting and a new custom liner. I was told that the boots I had were the wrong size for my feet. I was convinced to buy a new set of boots. I bit the hook, much to my mistake it would now seem. I have a very lax ankle and always need a very stiff boot. Unfortunately I did not stand my ground firm enough and I was sold on a less stiff pair based on the fitter's argument that I did not need a racing boot for my blue/black skiing. I had some semi-custom liners made for a pair of Solomons and told to go break them in for a few days. It was near the end of the season. The boots were tight fitting and too flexible when I lean forward. I am a 5'9", 180lb lady with muscular legs. I need a stiff boot. I stuck it out for the few remaining days. Now it is next season. One day out and I was in complete agony after 3 hours. Another day out, this time in Snowbird, UT and it was unskiable after just one run. I went to the local boot fitter (Superior Ski in Christy Sports) and they immediately told me I was in too small of a boot. So the smaller boots Elite Feet sold me the year before were, surprise surprise, too small! Also, they did a dorsiflexion test on my ankle and told me that I had the most lax ankle they had seen in their boot fitting career. They recommended a stiff pair of non-racing Lange boots and spent 4 hours fitting them to my foot. The next day on the slopes was the best day of my life. I was also told that the bottom of my custom footbed inserts made by Elite Feet were squared off on the bottom and that they should have been ground down to be round and look like the bottom of a real foot - so things can easily pivot in the boot. A chronic problem I'd had was my heel lifting up in the boot. That is why Elite Feet recommended a smaller, tighter boot. All I really needed was a stiffer boot, and now I barely need to secure the buckles and I can lean in the moguls without a care. Elite Feet FAIL. Now I have to e-bay these boots for pennies on the many dollars I spent on them. Buyer be ware. read more

Christian fitted my ski buddy and did a terrific job. He's got weird and scary feet so needed multiple punches to liners and shells. The ability to ski in for final tweaks is great. If you need ski boots there is only one place to go- well actually 2, they just opened a location in Northstar. Elite Feet is amazing, the staff is educated and patient. Buy a pair of boots from them and your feet will never hurt again. Having on locations at the base of the mountain allows you to ski and return for tweaks to your boot fitting if needed. My feet are wacky and they have kept me comfy on my skis for more then 5 years. read more

I went into this shop thinking that they would be able to adjust my ski boots to fit my feet. I went into the shop three times. Each time you go into the shop to make an adjustment, it costs between $45 to $75. I had three fittings and paid after each fitting. My feet continued to ache in the same spots that I originally went into the shop to fix even after the third time. Also, the place was crowded, so it took about an hour to get fitted each time I went, primarily due to the wait times. On the plus side, the guys there were nice read more

My first encounter with the folks of Elite Feet was almost 10 years ago when I went in to get new boots. Instead of selling me a new pair of boots, Christian told me that my boots were perfectly alright and instead fitted me with custom foot beds and liners. Afterwards, anytime I had any issues, he and his team would always tweak my boots at no charge to me. This year, it was finally time for a new pair of boots, and once again Christian came to the rescue. I asked for the same custom liner and footbed setup as I had in my last set of boots, but once again instead of just selling me what I asked for, Christian told me that I didn't need the custom liner and footbeds would be sufficient. Throughout the season, I have gone into Elite Feet to get my boots tweaked, and every time they have been more than happy to make sure that my boots fit me perfectly. I have been going to Christian, Jeremy, Rory, and Tom at Elite Feet for 15 years. I have bought 3 pairs of boots from them and have had a lot of boot work done, including liners and custom insoles. Stayed at the Resort at Squaw Creek last week after a 4-year skiing hiatus. Had a pair of boots that were eight years old but in new condition. Although these are the most comfortable ski boots I've ever owned they were still giving me some discomfort, especially with the left boot. Remy and Christian both told me that the existing orthodic, which I had made when I purchased the boots was essentially doing nothing to support my foot and highly recommended that I switch it out for a Kork-Vac orthodic, which I did. They also recommended replacing the stock shin strap with a Booster strap, which actually provides enough tension to provide a snug fit around the leg. Finally, they resolved a design flaw in the liner that was causing some of the discomfort. I also ended up purchasing a new set of powder skis as well. I got to try out everything the next day and I can't believe how comfortable my boots are now. This is the first time in my 22 years of skiing where my ski boots don't give me some level of discomfort. Also, the skis I purchased based on their recommendation for my requirements are awesome! I also have to give a shout out to Sarah who sold me the killer Smith IO goggles so I could actually see in storm conditions. The bottom line is that the crew at Elite Feet really know their stuff. Their customer service is awesome and they have become my source for ski equipment moving forward! read more

Christian Denis has been my boot fitter for years. When I first met him, I thought he was somewhat abrupt. Then I realized he is intense, and he seems to be challenged by fitting customers with the boots they need. He took the time to fit me in boots that changed my skiing for the better. He explained to me the fitting process and the significance of what he was doing. The entire staff at Elite Feet has always treated me with respect and attention as if the boots they were fitting me with were for them. I learn so much about boots, skis, and skiing when I am at Elite Feet, and I appreciate the excellent customer service I receive from Christian and his staff. They are true professionals. I randomly wandered in here at the bottom of the Squaw Creek lift when I bent down to unbuckle my aching boots for the 10th time that day, looked up and saw their sign. Christian helped put me in a new pair of boots, and I was really pleased with the experience. He patiently spent about an hour getting me into something that worked for me, and then adjusted them after I took a few runs. Great service! read more

I asked for a Solomon Impact 10 boot at the Northstar location. They fitted me with a boot that looked similar to the Impact 10 but was actually last years Falcon. When I paid for the boots I received a 30% discount. I asked about the discount and they said it was because the boot was "a different color". After leaving the store I looked at my receipt and it said Falcon boot. I went back to the store the next day to return the boots. I explained that I did not want the Falcon and wanted a refund. They insisted that they were only trying to save me money (I never mentioned money on my first visit) and that the boot was only a different color. When I insisted on returning the boots they got defensive and said they were going to call security and that I was never to return to their store. The topper is when they credited my Visa card for the purchase they actually charged my card for the original amount again. I had to dispute this "error" with my credit card company. If you must shop there compare prices before buying and watch your receipt. I bought the Impact 10 from Uli Seiler ski shop in Kentfield CA. Fantastic boot. Try True North in the village at Northstar if you need ski equipment. Lower prices, no sales pressure and now they carry Soloman. read more

My wife got fitted for new boots today at Elite Feet and they were nothing short of amazing. The time and care they take to make sure every last detail is perfect is amazing. They really know their stuff and make all of the tweaks while you wait. On top of all that, you can come in an unlimited number of times until the fit is just perfect. These guys really know boot fitting! I went in early this week (with an appointment) and in two hours christian set me up with a sweet pair of Dalbellos. High performance with more comfort than I thought possible. Even on the first day I was fully buckled from first to 20th run. Laps on KT-22 never felt so good! I skied the next three days with only one adjustment which they cheerfully did. These boots slide on, buckle up and go. 60000' vertical later they still fit perfect! read more

Remy and Christian at Elite Feet are fantastic boot fitters & win five gold stars for excellent customer service. I have been an avid skier for over 20 years and have worked with many boot fitters. These guys are top notch! I went in the shop this afternoon and asked them if they had some time to help me fit my 9 year old son for boots. His feet were freezing and in painful from skiing and I wanted to know if he needed new boots or liners. Remy took the time to look at the boots, look at my son's feet and how they fit in the boots. He explained that the boots were the right size. He then coached my son on how to concentrate on leaning forward into the boot when skiing so that his toes didn't smash into the front. Remy was so patient and knew how to gain my son's attention and effectively teach him the mechanics of how to make the ski boots work for him. They spent more than half an hour with us in the shop and we didn't even buy anything from them. I am so incredibly impressed. They could have easily tried to sell us new boots, or custom liners, heaters or other accessories. Instead, they chose to share their wealth of knowledge and help us use what we already own. My husband needs new boots this season and we will definitely come back here. Not only are Remy and Christian great to work with, but the shop has a great selection of boots to choose from. Sadly much like a few of the other reviews, these are the WORST boots I have ever had and they hurt my feet no matter what I do - might be due to the fact that they guy who sold them to me had me go a size down, which was not at all the right size for me. On the first day of owning them, I had them adjusted three times and they told me the boots would "pack out" and my toes wouldn't be as smashed. No such luck and here I am a couple years later with an $800 pair of boots that I can't wait to get my feet out of within an hour of putting them on. Never would buy from here again. As much as everyone appears to love them, they are more than happy to rip you off and sell you something that moves their inventory versus actually getting you a pair of boots that work long term. Maybe they assumed I'd come back and buy another pair in a couple of years. Hell no! read more

The achilles heel of skiing is proper boot fit. And we all know how weird boots can behave. Like the time in Whistler when my boots which had been swell for probably 35 ski days spontaneously became medieval torture devices. The opening of Elite Feet in Northstar's new village a couple of years ago under the ownership and direction of Bob Campbell has changed my ski life, as well as those of my numerous ski buddies. Bob's knowledge of boots and feet is simply unparalleled. His patience is virtually unlimited. One of my cabin mates spent 4 hours selecting a new boot! and all subsequent tweaking is done as part of the package. Even if you haven't purchased your boots from Elite Feet, they'll help you out with hot spots and crimps and .......I've previously taken my feet and boots to a number of other well known Tahoe boot fitters, and they were (unfortunately) in the minor leagues compared to Elite Feet. Bob and his well-trained staff would get 6 or 7 stars from me and my friends, but 5 stars is all Yelp allows. Treat your feet to Elite Feet--your feet will love you, I guarantee it. read more
