The number of StartHaus ski wraps we have in our ski locker tells me how much we love the place. They routinely take really good care of us getting bindings mounted or doing slight tune ups to our gear. You can tell they know what they are doing and take the time to do things right. We've never bought gear from them directly (as I often get last years gear on sale) but they don't seem to mind. My brother-in-law says their boot fitting service is top notch.

We come from a ski racing background back East, so we have always been particular about fit and performance. You feel it immediately when something is off, and you remember the people who get it right. It has been really rewarding to watch them build Olympic Bootworks over the years and develop things like the Heel-N-Loc footbed. It simply works. You feel more secure, more comfortable, and it has made a noticeable difference not only on the mountain but even in my son's soccer cleats. That level of consistency over this many years is rare. I came to Tahoe recently and realized I didn't bring a pair of snowpants with me so I rented a pair here for $20. Otherwise, for those looking to rent a snowboard package or ski package, it's about $50 for one day. Make sure to use the 10% coupon they have on their site to save some money. If you have the time to do it, make sure to pick up your skis/snowboards the day before after 4PM. They let you pick up the day before so the mad rush in the morning of people renting equipment won't slow you down. It comes at no additional cost. You must return all equipment by 7PM.
