Truckee Boardhouse is a hidden gem! I just got back into snowboarding after 15 years. Last Monday my wife and I went in looking for a new pair of snowboarding boots for me and ended up with boots, a new board, helmet and goggles. My wife also decided to get back into snowboarding and got herself a complete set up. We would have not bought that much if it was not for the attention and guidance we received from Shane. He spent time learning about us and figuring out what would be the best fit for both of us. Not only does the Truckee Boardhouse have a great selection but most importantly they know what they are talking about. I was looking at other places before walking in last week and within the first 10 minutes I knew I wasn't going to look anywhere else. You cannot put a value on customer service and expertise. We now will only go here for our snowboarding needs. They are also a full service shop where you can get your boards waxed, edged and repaired. We currently live down the hill from Truckee about 1.5 hours. I feel comfortable knowing if something goes wrong with my equipment on the mountain I am within 20 minutes of the Truckee Boardhouse to get something fixed or replaced. Hands down this is the place to go if you want a great selection, service and knowledgeable staff. They also have a killer deal during summer months to clear last year's products to make space for the new season as well as a great selection of summer goods and accessories. read more

I brought in a board I thought was headed for the trash after severe damage. They were able to fix it to my surprise! Saved my board and I've been back several times to grab snow gear. Excellent selection with very knowledgeable staff. An excellent shop that deserves high praise. Keep up the good work!! I'll be back many times. read more

Disappointing would be an understatement of this place. The "bros" working here seemed to be irritated that I came into the shop. Shopping for my my daughters first board and a new setup for myself to ride with her. They couldn't be bothered to get off their phones. Interesting business model. Their loss. I went down the street and spent $700 at the "other shop" and then another $250 on CCS. Support your local skate shop dies when you don't care about your customers and can't look up from a phone. I know they have "locals" attitude, but guess what. I'm actually the local. You're shop employees are just visiting. read more

I came in close to closing and Shane was able to wax and edge the board i brought in even letting us stay a little past closing so we can take the boards back with us! read more

Me and a few friends needed to get our boards waxed without an overnight turnaround. We brought in 4 boards around 6pm and they were super fast and got it back to us within an hour. They even offered to help us adjust the bindings as well. I could really tell the employees here care abt the sport and community, and I love that they're super friendly and welcoming too. Also have deep knowledge abt the sport. I think it's cool that this shop has primarily skateboarding and snowboarding stuff Also they do boot fittings so will definitely come back again for that!! the prices were very fair and that was nice too :) read more

Highly recommend this place for any needs! They always take care of you and leave feeling better than coming in!

Great service and friendly staff. Got my new board waxed there and they gave it a lot of attention to make sure it was done well. Even windexed it so the new shine came back! Nice selection of products and I felt very cared for during my visit. Only bad thing is the weird mannequin standing right by the door when you first walk in. Dusty and creepy place for it. Startled me each time I passed by it. They should move it to a less obnoxious location. read more

7:30pm on a Sunday, with powder snow falling, and I have a bad snowboard strap. Truckee Boardhouse to the rescue. Service was 5 star, even though the repair guy was not actually in the store at the time. Best powder day ever. read more

This place feels like one of the best kept secrets of Truckee. Always knowledgeable staff and great gear on hand. I have continued to take my snowboard here for service since I learned about this shop. Shane's decades of experise is unparalleled. My son outgrew his 125cm snowboard. Shane and his young employee super helpful. My son was between and 132-137. Shane gave us the pros and cons. We bought a Captiva and includes a free legit hot wax (not the carpet wax). Shane also detuned a bit to help my son. Another reason I like Shane is that a customer had a broken Biden strap but he didn't carry it he still repaired it and took his number down. I will come back to Shane and support small business. read more

Dom , thank you very much!! Went in looking for a pair of boots before hitting up Northstar I asked for a 10.5 in a specific boot I wanted he said let's get you sized up first so you have the correct boot , I was hesitant at first and just wanted to get a 10.5 boot as fast as possible so I can get to shredding as fast as possible but he took his time to measure both of my feet and gave me a 9.5 boot. After he got me fitted he told me to go grab my board so he can adjust our bindings to our new boots , this is something he did not have to do but took the time to do so (my lady ended up getting fitted too and got a boot that actually fit her as well) Never knew I was a 9.5 boot till I came here & I've been snowboarding for years, went to go shred after buying them and had an amazing time with boots that actually fit. Dom over at the truckee board shop is a great employee, thank you again. -@hotboy_druwski read more

I cannot rave enough about how amazing of an experience I had at Truckee Boardhouse! I bought a bought a board online through an "expert" agency, and they sold me a board that was 6 sizes too small and bindings too small as well. They recommended a great board and bindings that actually fit me and patiently waited until as I dealt with customer service to get the board returned thru the other company. They kept the shop open late to help get my bindings on! Justin & Ryder are the best of the best. Thank you for amazing customer service! read more

Shane was super great!! This shop has all the options and we felt really welcome and at home. Great atmosphere and help here

I found this Abor Boardshop on Yes's website as one of their retailers. I was on the market for a Yes Pick Your Line (PYL) board so I gave them a call to see if they have the board in stock. Yes PYL is sold out almost everywhere and thought this place wouldn't have it. To my surprise, they had it in my size and it was their last one. Tyson helped me with the transaction. I live about 230 miles from the shop so I was able to purchase it over the phone. I picked up the board over the weekend. Tyson was very helpful and chill. I highly recommend their store for any snowboarding needs. read more

My son was really excited to get his first custom built board. We stopped in Arbor Boardhouse due to the good reputation and they did not disappoint. From the beginning, the young man who worked there, Joe, offered input while giving time and space for my son and his friends to look at everything. He gave some really good guidance and insights to help my son select what was right for him. Once my son selected all his components, Joe was genuinely enthusiastic about setting up his board. While he was working, the boys were all back talking about the things they are learning to do and Joe was really supportive and encouraging of these new skaters. It made them feel valued and included. I talked to Shane, one of the owners, while the board was being set up and it is clear the passion he and his wife have for board sports and customer service. My son walked out with a board he's thrilled about and an experience that was wind in his sails. I highly recommend Arbor Boardhouse and felt great about supporting this local business. read more

Honest advice from experienced sales staff. They are not there to upsell you. You feel so welcome from the moment you walk in.

The gear is great, but come here for the service. The guys here are super knowledgeable, but not judgmental at all. They're going to give you really good advice that you won't get at many shops. The team here helped me set up my backcountry bindings, even though I didn't buy my set up here. They also carry a full range of awesome boards for men and for women, including Arbor and Yes. I always stop by here in Tahoe. read more

Yes. Everything all the other reviews said is exactly right. The customer service here cannot be beaten! I spent probably a good hour and a half in Arbor picking the brains of the super cool salespeople from boards to helmets to bindings they broke everything down and explained why this particular feature might be better than that one, etc. I never felt like I was bothering them and I got the feeling they could sit and gab about this stuff all day long. I didn't wind up getting a board there but I did score a helmet and gloves. As it happens I wound up finding an Arbor board from last season down at Bobo's that fit my "I'm going to beat this board to $h!t while learning" budget. Once I hit the point where I know what I'm doing I'll definitely be back to Arbor to get a better set up and really just to say hey and gab with the amazeballs staff. To sum it up - overall selection (boards, bindings, goggles, boots, helmets, gloves, clothing, everything!) fantastic, store layout was great, it was easy to find, and the best customer service I've found in a shop like anywhere in this area. Well done and thank you! read more

They do not stand by their products even when they sell defective goods. You just lost a customer and his family. Not cool.

Excellent service and selection, specifically from Michaela. I've been to at least 5 shops looking for a new outfit and the women's selection has been discouraging to say the least. I left happy with a new full outfit, base layer and happy! Will be back for every gear need I have in the future! read more

Rachel. Monica. Peter. I have always wanted an arbor board, but had no idea which board was ideal for my ride. When I first went in I had the pleasure of talking to Rachel and Monica. They knew exactly what I was dealing with the board I had (burton feel good from 6 seasons ago), but they instantly knew the ride that I wanted. Rachel explained in explicit detail what the Arbor Cadence had to offer. Monica joined in with her perspective of the capita, which I was considering, but the cadence offers the surfing ride that I want. My family and I felt at home in that store. They made us feel comfortable as if we were hanging out with the homies. Before we left they said to stop by and tell them how the ride was. I ended up purchasing the cadence and the flux gu bindings. So of course the board was life changing!! The bindings were the perfect fit too. So my family and I went into the store to show appreciation. We missed Rachel, but we had another amazing experience with Peter! I don't know where the owner finds these people, but they have the best personalities. You leave the place wanting to hang out with them everyday. Peter just had an ease about himself and we ended up getting a stomp pad with a side of great conversation. Something that would take us a few moments to get ended up taking a half an hour of fun conversation. We probably could have stayed longer, but our baby was getting a little annoyed lol. So not only did I get a new set up, stickers and a new stomp pad we also got an experience that will last a lifetime. I have never connected like that with people at retail stores. Usually that always comes with eating out. I want to thank the arbor company, Shane for hiring the most amazing time, Rachel, Monica and Peter! Good vibes only! Audrey read more

Popped in just to browse last week while visiting Truckee with family and was very impressed with this store and it's employees. They were very friendly and quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The store layout is great. A lot of equipment, but it doesn't feel cramped. Arbor really does have the most beautiful boards out there. I'll just have to come back for my next snowboard and the cruiser I was eyeballing for my son. My SIL got the Dakine Heli Pro backpack and Arbor had even better prices than some of the online shops. Also kind of a weird side note, but this store smells amazing. I don't know what it was, but I wish there was a candle with this scent. read more

We love this shop. Super cool clothes, winter wear and excellent customer service. For a "board shop" there is zero negative vibe like you can sometimes feel at other local board shop establishments. They have a good variety of clothes for women, men and kids. Lots of fun extras too, like phone cases, hats, socks, belts, water bottles. Nice quality items all around. And they are always generous with stickers for kids. read more

Hands down the best snowboard shop I've ever been to! I've purchased everything from boards to t-shirts here last season.. The owner and his employees are very hands on, informative, and helpful in making smartest decision for any purchase. They are all about you having a great day on the mountain vs. taking all your money. I bought less expensive bindings because they talked me down from the top of the line most expensive pair saying I didn't need the gimmicks. Very honest! The store layout, concept and design is what originally drew me in, fresh and innovative, just go check it out, super cool.. Plus, they only have the best products at very reasonable prices, Arbor, Volcom, Union, Capita etc.. Can't go wrong! read more

I've been waiting for snow so that I can give a thorough review, but nature seems to be taunting me, so.... Went to Northstar at the tail end of our last storm and quickly realized my beloved Burton Triumph had seen (at least) one too many icy slopes: hint: great wax+horrible edges+icy black diamond runs=sphincter strain. I've wanted an Arbor board ever since my first glimpse back in the 90's, so I went online and found "The Wasteland". Almost too beautiful to use. When I found an Arbor specific shop just down the road, I felt the Stars had aligned. So many beautiful boards, but my mind was set. The owner helped my solidify my choice and did an awesome job of waxing the board for me. Got back to the condo in the hopes of an early morning session on my dream stick only to find my Burton bindings wouldn't transfer. Back to the shop the next morning and the guys fully hooked me up. It is so incredibly AWESOME when you get to deal with people who are that good at what they do. Can't wait for snow! read more

I stopped to pick up some last minute gifts today. I found some goggles for my wife. I also found that Shane is incredibly knowledgeable about the boards they have. When I thought I'd have to pay $600 for an arbor snowboard, their prices were surprisingly cheap. Love this local spot. I'm looking forward to coming back to have my gear tuned for this epic winter. Thanks Arbor Boardhouse! read more

Nice staff. Helpful as I was looking for gift. Following safety protocols. Nice boards nice ethos.

These guys deliver stellar service, repair and products. The other reviewers are right! 5* all the way. I had great interactions with all of the people in the shop, to repair my damaged board. The team got the repair done faster than was expected, and for less cost than anticipated. As a non-local, weekend snow-fiend, I was pleasantly surprised to see such an inclination toward customer satisfaction and service. the repair was very well done, and it was done fast. Shopping while I was there, I was also stoked on the kickass stuff they sell. My board is tiptop now, and I know where i'm going next time. read more

I bought my second Arbor board from the owner and I love the new board but more than that I love the service that they provide in the shop. My 18-year-old trashed his board in the rocks and the owner personally fixed it and charge him a minuscule amount to save his board. Thank you! read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. First of all I love arbor boards cuz they have so much heart and soul built into them, they look great, and ride like a dream. I got my last arbor board stolen, and this place was nice enough to keep an eye out for me. Eventually I was able to come in and get a new setup and they were so helpful in finding the perfect board and bindings for me. I definitely plan on coming back and will recommend to all who are looking for a sweet ride :) read more
