This place is dope! If you're ever looking for a new sb dunk in Reno, this is the place to go! The shop owner is dope! Follow them on instagram to get notifications on exclusive drops, trust me... THEY FLY OFF THE SHELVES FAST! Located right in the same parking lot as RPM, so it's extremely convenient! I will be bacc and I consider them amazing when it comes to adding value to the local sneaker community! It's definitely a gem! I feel bad for giving out this free game! My friends will probably be mad but thank me later! read more

I will have to post the skateboard that Eric himself is building for my son for his first skateboard. But I couldn't help and post about our experience as soon as I had the chance. Looked up local skate shops in Reno,NV on chat gpt and found Classic Skate shop, I noticed that it was ran by the owner. So my husband and I decided to stop in and see what they had. Walked in, was greeted right away then I asked him a lot of questions about boards and my son being a newbie and buying his first skateboard. He told us we had options to trick boards, cruiser boards etc. We decided on a cruiser board since my son wants to just skate with his big brother. With over 40 years of experience he put together a great board for him. He even said he would build it himself. I can't wait to pick it up and upload a photo of how sick this board is going to look. Great advice and personable guy. Thanks Eric for the unforgettable experience! I'll never forget it. read more

Regarding the review below this one...that particular guest came in with an erratic behavior that made other guests in the shop uneasy. Eric here at Classic handled that customer with the same excellent level of respect and communication as he does with every guest that walks in. Classic Skateshop remains the core source for skateboarding in northern Nevada, doing the most for both the long term locals and the first time riders. No skate scene is complete without a a cornerstone Skateshop, Classic is Reno's. read more

These guys are the best. They are very welcoming and don't try to pressure you into buying anything. They always point out the price point boards, shoes, clothes and other specials going on. They have the best shoe selection by far with many brands. The board wall is constantly rotating with fresh lumber. I would highly recommend stopping by classic before anywhere else. I always feel like a kid again when I get here and you probably will too. I bought these vans Zions a couple weeks ago and the cupsole is incredible. Classic skate shop is just that. A classic skate shop. The place is pretty small but that's what you want out of a skate shop. I'm not there to buy a bunch of overpriced clothes or sunglasses. This place has clothing and glasses and other skate shwag but it's really about the boards, trucks and wheels. They have a great selection of decks and a bunch of quality trucks. Prices are good for a skate shop on the decks, wheels and trucks. The owner is cool and really well informed. Not to mention he will throw the grip tape on for you at no extra charge. Buy local and support the last skate shop in Reno. read more

I was visiting from out of town and just so happened to catch a shoe release. I was with my wife and kids so I was a little weary of standing in line. No one was practicing social distancing so I got a bit scared off. The owner showed up and I think didn't really know why everyone was lined up. Then realized they were all there for shoes. Hahaha! I feel like he handled it as best as he could with all the disgruntled people that again were not practicing social distancing. Hard to be a shop owner in this situation but he did a great job of handling the situation. People weren't exactly happy but there are rules and he did what he felt was best to keep his staff and customers safe. We all missed out on the shoes but it was a good call by the owner at the end of the day. He did the right thing. read more

One of the kids asked for a skateboard from Santa and since I spent most of my formative years sitting on a skateboard smoking in various parking lots I can't bring myself to buy a skateboard from Target. Off to Classic Skate Shop where I was expecting to be raped in the wallet, sneered at by "skate kids" and then barraged with upselling for completely unnecessary shit. Instead, I was sold relatively "value" priced wheels, trucks and a deck by an insanely helpful clerk who threw in some free grip tape and stickers. It didn't cost me a fortune and the only "skate kid" working was a skate MAN with a beard so amazingly lustrous it went straight past hipster and all the way around to biblical. Quality work by quality folks. For quality parts and skate-centric chit-chat, we're looking at a solid four stars. read more

If I could give them no stars I would! This company likes to mess with people's emotions, they advertise that they will do a drop and you should up before they open however they clame they have sold out! How is that even possible? They open at 11:00 yet they say they sold out before 9 hmmm . I use to shop here for a long time, this was my son's favorite store. I will no longer will I give my hard earned money to a company that feeds of off false advertising! Not to mention the employees walks past the line of people and doesn't have the curtesy to say they have sold out! Instead make us wait in the cold for 10 more minutes, to open up 10 minutes later to say they have sold out! Not to mention They posted the person that purchased the shoes what a coincidence it's always the same person in the construction vest! Inside job totally! read more

EDIT - This shop is INSIDE the mall on the NE corner of Plumb and S Virginia. There is no sign from the street but it is the same place as Tuesday Morning. This skate shop embodies the true heart of skateboarding. If you want to experience what skating was like from the 80's to today, this is the shop for you. These guys have been skating since the 80's and this shop is an extension of their love for the sport, lifestyle and culture. No false representation or pretense here, they're the real deal. They know all about the classics. They know the modern. They stock only the best. They stock new designs and reissues from only the best in the industry. They know the area. They know the skateparks. They know what works for street, ramp, or pools. At my age of 41, my son has taken to skating. This has rekindled my love for the board and these guys get it. I felt welcomed back into the fold and this shop is where I will spend my time and money. They told me to bring my son in next time so they could meet him and welcome him. He's 8. If you want to feel part of the skateboarding family, come to this shop, get to know them, embrace and love of the board. You will not be disappointed! read more

What a great shop. I'm tempted to go straight into the nitty gritty details of the shop--the fantastic selection of skater-owned brands, the myriad unique decks they stock, the nice selection of apparel--but I'd rather comment on the guy behind the counter, Dean. He might honestly be the friendliest, nicest person I've ever met. My wife and I were in Reno to check out the city, and we knew that stopping by Classic was a must. Dean made sure our instinct was rewarded. He probably talked with us about Reno and its surrounding areas for 45 minutes. He made us feel right at home, and when it was time to shop, he let us browse with no interruption. He was super-attentive to the customers who came in with questions, and he even hooked me up with a clutch of free stickers. I will definitely be back. Simply put, Dean is one of the many reasons my wife and I are strongly considering moving to the biggest little city in the world. If the rest of the folks are half as friendly as Dean, we're going to be very happy there. read more

Even though my last visit was $25 less expensive. :) Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2005; I am a regular customer. :)

Classic skate shop is hands down the best shop in northern Nevada! Awesome selection of shoes, skate gear, streetwear and hats/beanies. The prices have always been reasonable and it's a local business. We must support our local businesses more than ever, especially right now. The people that work there have always been more than willing to help me find what I am looking for and their patience is impeccable. They have never made me feel unwelcome or stupid for trying to get into skating and understanding what I need in order to have the right set up. They're hands down one of the best local businesses in Reno and has always been knitted tightly within the community. read more

Heard about the Nike SB chunky dunkys being backdoored to people from here. Didn't wanna believe it till I saw another reviewer had a similar experience. Sad that they had to lie to the general public about not getting them so they could make a quick extra buck. Especially on such a exclusive release with some so highly coveted in the sneaker world. Would not recommend doing business with such shady individuals like these people to any one in the future. read more

Hands down best skate shop experience I've ever had. Everybody there is extremely knowledgeable and very nice. Their selection is amazing and only getting better. Also, their prices can't be beat and they're always having great sales. I was happy that they helped me find what was right for me instead of just selling me a bunch of random stuff. 10/10 Will definitely be giving them all of business. read more

I was a little confused when I first walked in because there's no signs about how the clothing/shoes are organized other than sizing. It's a smaller store but they have several rows of street wear clothing in the middle and the walls are lined with cool sneakers. Some are wrapped in clear plastic, others are just hanging or sitting on shelves unwrapped. The clothes mostly consist of shirts and jackets. Once I asked one of the workers to explain the concept and how things work to me, it was great! They are clearly very knowledgeable and friendly once they know you want some assistance. New shoes and clothes are wrapped in plastic, gently used items are unwrapped. Prices are on the bottom of the shoes and all available sizes they have in that color/style are listed next to the price. As far as the bubble tea goes, they have a digital menu and tea station at the very back of the store. They have regular, large, and big bear cup sizes! Plenty of flavors and add ins to choose from but probably not as many as other bubble tea spots. I got a peach fruit tea with boba and it tasted exactly as I had hoped! Price was comparable to any other bubble tea place. Then you get to sip on your drink as you walk around and browse the items in the store. Even though I'm not really into street wear, it was fun to have something to do while we enjoyed our tea!

It gets worse. Can it?! Yup. . …read more UPDATE: I Tried to Let This Go. They Didn't. After my original review about being sold a "custom" set that turned out to be badly fitted with mismatched shafts, I honestly planned to move on--especially if the shop would just pick up the phone and try to make it right. I called. More than once. No call back. No email. Nothing. If they had contacted me, I would have gladly updated--or even removed--my original review and said they stood behind their work. Instead, here we are, and things got worse. When I went to sell the clubs, the buyer pointed out: Two 50° wedges in the set (one graphite shaft, one steel). Why? What I thought was a 45° wedge is the exact same loft as my pitching wedge. So yes--I was sold two pitching wedges as well. Add that to the already mismatched shafts and bad fitting, and this "custom set" is a mess. And still: no response from the shop after multiple attempts to reach them. --- Lessons? Also a bust. I sent my wife here for an 8-week lesson package. When we finally played together, I immediately noticed her grip was way off. I asked her about it--she said, "We never talked about grip. He just kept telling me to swing." Grip is Golf 101. After eight weeks? Come on. When we addressed it in person, the instructor finally said, "Let's take a look at your grip," like it was new information. My wife also told me he was flirtatious, pushy, and that on more than one session he smelled like liquor. She was uncomfortable. We stopped going. --- Bottom line: I gave them a chance. They didn't take it. This follow-up exists because they never tried to fix the problem. Between the botched club build, zero follow-through, and questionable instruction, I can't recommend this place for fittings or lessons. Buyer beware.
