Last season, I went to strap my foot to my snowboard at the top of Zephyr and found that my 10 year old toe cap and binding ladder had decided to let me ride solo that round. Though still technically functional, I have been seeking to replace those small pieces for a few weeks now. Working full-time in Reno and making a trek to Truckee for that purpose is never too far, but the majority of tech shops only stay open until 6, so pre-planning was important for me to be able to get there in time. I had a contact from the Tahoe Sports Hub in Truckee check around in spare boxes of parts over the past week, and I have called several other shops who have assured me that they could 'probably rig something together', though I would have to come in to get everything fitted. Binding strap replacement Kits are available from Burton, as that company is very hardware-specific, but those would run me about $50. At that price point, I could purchase a set of bindings, and in my never-ending effort to save money, I knew that venturing closer to the mountains would increase my probability to get this repair done with better skill and for a lower cost. Totally Board took my board and returned with a Frankenstein strap attached to it lieu of the missing piece after a wait of about 10 minutes. The fee charged was nominal, as the cap and ladder were used and about the same quality as my old bindings, and I thank them greatly for taking care of me so close to the end of their day. I will head their warning that my current bindings are on their last legs, and I will give them one last hurrah with this newfound boost of life. read more

I've come in here a few times to look at snowboard or gear. After a ski trip to the land of rocks my snowboard was in desperate need of some repairs. I brought it by and they went to work. I came back by later that day to pick it up and everything looked great. The edges were sharp and the bottom was waxy fresh. I have been a snowboard instructor for 16 years, and I have purchased and worn many snowboard boots over those years. Totally Board Snowboard & Skateboard Shop gave me the best experience I have ever had. All of the employees worked together as a seamless unit with one goal: to make all of the customers happy. Thanks to their honesty and integrity I did find the perfect pair of boots, though the boots I ended up with were at another shop since T.B. doesn't carry the brand that was the most ideal for my particular foot issues. For ladies, who often have higher insteps than men, I highly recommend the W's K2s that they have in stock right now. Popped in to get some gloves yesterday. Primarily a snowboard centric shop but I was able to find a decent pair of daily gloves and my husband was looking for the more serious kind for sport. They had both and huge selection. They have a great collection of newest boarding fashion (Burton and..?) for ladies on the right and men on the left, boots and socks in the middle and in the back I scored a cool jacket at half price of what it was marked down to at the same rack. My boyfriend and I came in the shop this past Thursday looking for boots, pants and possibly a board. Joe greeted us and explained the different waterproofing on pants and was really helpful. We then got Joseph trying on boots which took 2 hours+. Joe was patient the entire time, asked all the right questions and was overall so helpful. We even got Joseph demoing the board he was potentially going to buy. He seemed like he might have hated his job and us. We felt like we were wasting his time completely. No smile no asking us if we needed help. So I'm sorry but you guys lost at least a few hundred dollars in sales from us today instead I went on the website from the brands I liked and bought the items online. I demo'd a Never Summer EVO at Sierra at Tahoe and went looking for it. Totally Board was the closest shop to where we were staying at. Tucked in behind all the shops in Tuckee, you'd never know that a core shop was lurking just down the block. Carrying the full assortment of Capita, K2, Never Summer, Rome, and that crappy Burton junk, they have a model of everything, not just a few items from a brand. If they carry the brand, they carry EVERYTHING. All the boots, all the binders, all the boards (in nearly every size) I got my 2009 NS Evo for 40% off, and the board it a blast. An update - my wife's snowboard boot BOA knob broke, and after trying several other SF local shops to get it fixed, and getting it very screwed up by the REI SF, we decided to check-in with the Truckee local Totally Board shop once again for their expertise. I first called to make sure they repair Boa, and was assured that they are the BOA experts - how happy was i to hear this! As we came back, we met Ryan who already helped us in the past with fixing a binding, and he was very courteous and professional. Ryan spend a good 20 minutes working on replacing the Boa knob and also had to replace the BOA cables since the REI tech messed it up. Pricing was very very reasonable - i would have gladly paid more for such great work. Service was done very professionally, and the boa feels safe and like new again. Thanks Ryan! Totally Board is my new Pro snowboard shop for all my boarding needs! These guys really Pro's and i can expect the right service and right products the first time.
