After 5+ wasted YouTube hours, I decided to bring it in and Joe helped out immediately by doing a quick check. I created a yelp account to give this place a review, it's that good. I had purchased(and exchanged) a pre-built "gaming PC" from a big box retailer nearby and was having issue after issue with it, and just decided to search on yelp "computers near me". I live in Eastlake, and luckily for me Joe's business was extremely close in proximity and it certainly stuck out with the reviews. In less than 5 minutes on the phone with Joe I knew this was the place for me. I gave him a run down of the issues I was having and he diagnosed the problem with ease: the term pre-built "gaming pc" is nothing more than a marketing ploy to convince folks they're getting a good product, and my recent experience gave me first hand knowledge that he was indeed right. Over the course of our ten minute conversation on the phone, It was obvious that Joe sold top of the line products, but his emphasis for his business was on customer service. Customer service is something I, like most, value more than whatever part you put into my rig. I made my way into Joe's store and was instantly transported back into the 90's (the peak of civilization if you ask me). Beige and cream CRT monitors sit atop his counters, a television behind the counter has a loop of the history of the store showing multiple photos from decades past further driving home how long he's been in business and just how proud of the business he is. Again, overflowing brownie points in the customer service box. Joe and I talked at length about what I needed for my gaming pc's build. He went into great detail to dispel some of the rumors I had heard about graphics cards, processors. He wanted to make sure I had EXACTLY what I needed, without overpaying for something I'd never need. He broke things down into layman terms to make sure that I fully understood what I needed, because let me tell you, I was dead-set on a 3080-ti graphics card for ALL of the wrong reasons. His emphasis wasn't on making money in this transaction, which is RARE in todays world. He wanted to sell me happiness in the form of a computer, and he wanted me to have that at an affordable price. Joe followed up with me 3 days later giving me an update on the build and let me know that one of the parts on our list was traveling from the East Coast and that it was taking a bit longer than expected, but provided me with a timeframe as to which I could expect my computer with all things considered. He had my money already, he didn't have to do that, but that one act is the reason I've created this account and decided to share my experience so far with Yelp. I was printing labels and the paper jammed. I pulled the paper out and it was still showing a message of paper jam in tray 1. I couldn't find anything, but when I looked at the label paper I noticed one label was missing. I took everything apart that came apart and couldn't find the label. I took the printer (a large one, BTW) to Elite. Unfortunately, they said they don't fix printers anymore and gave me the name of a repair depot that focuses on printer. Before I left, they said to take the tone tray out and flip the printer over because there was an area only visible from the bottom of the printer that might be where the label got stuck. When I went back out to the car, I turned the printer over and from there I could just see the label. Removed it, when home, reassembled the printer and it worked. They always try to help. read more

Awww man, where do I begin. Went in for a MacBook Pro screen repair on 8/9/2023, and I was charged for a new screen. They told me the screen would be in no later than 2 weeks, since it takes a while to contact the manufacturer and shipping and all that. They would then reach out to me so I can bring the computer in, $150 in labor totaling ~$450 for the repair. 3 months pass and they completely just forget about my computer and the needed repair. I had to reach out to them multiple times to check the status on the screen. They said the manufacturer received the order but never sent out the screen. Screen finally gets there after 3 months. Good we're making progress here. I go take my computer on a Monday so they can install the screen, which they said shouldn't take more than a day. I call Tuesday and the guy on the phone says it's ready by the end of the day and they just needed to run some tests. I show up Wednesday and they pretty much made me waste my time and gas and told me they were still running some tests on the computer. But now the computer wasn't powering on. Initially it would power on, it just had screen damage. They tell me that I need to bring my Mac charger because the computer store doesnt carry any Mac chargers on them. That's a new one lol. I come back the next day with the charger and it's not turning on anymore. Apparently now the computer has water damage. I show up Friday and talk to the guy in charge and they bring me around the back to talk about the status of my computer. I tell them it's impossible my computer has water damage. I only use my pc at home and never travel with it. At the back of the house I notice they have water containers with no lid or anything around their work bench and I can already tell where this is going. The owner tells me he has to call a friend that specializes in Mac's and he'll give me a call back. They finally call me and they tell me the logic board on my computer is failing, it's going to take another 2 weeks to get there and they would put it on immediately once they receive it. They complete the repair on 12/7/2023 and the final repair cost was $751. No apologies for the delays or even a price adjustment for the inconvenience. Go somewhere else. Reply: I never said I didn't want to pay $700 at the Apple Store. In fact I didn't go there in the first place because I did not want to wait for the appointment. Ever since Covid it takes a while to book an appointment with them and I just thought I'd give the local computer place a try. Probably would've been way faster taking it to the Apple Store. I approved the second repair because why not? It's already there and you guys said it was dismantled already. Cheap service will run you more expensive in the long run.Maybe stick to repairing desktops. Happy holidays! read more

I'm happy I came to get my laptop fixed. I had many places telling me to replace my laptop since it would cost as much as a new laptop to fix. At this point that's when I came in to Elite Computers. I came in with a HP laptop (that's a touchscreen) screen was cracked to the point of the touchscreen was no longer working. Also my speakers were damaged and sounded very low. Thinking the price was going to exceed to the price of a new laptop, I was happy to let them look over my computer to get an estimate of the cost. With the gpu market being crazy, we decided to go with a pre-built. My MacBook Pro 2016 15" Monitor stopped charging a couple of weeks back As many of you know if you can't charge a laptop they are a little hard to use ;) I live up in Poway and went to couple of computer stores in the area without a very good diagnosis. I was pretty sure it was the charging port on the computer that was damaged (showed signs of electrical burns) but both places up here were certain it was a motherboard issue. So I looked up Yelp review and found Elite Computers at the top. Spoke with Nathan he said sounded like a charging port issue and bring it in for a look. Once there he said - Yep charging port - $20 for the replacement part. Sold! Waited five business days for the part and after waiting an hour for installation we are back in business. Bought an IBuyPower prebuilt PC in 2021. I recently was experiencing a buzzing sound coming from the radiator of my stock IBuyPower liquid cooler. I brought my computer into Elite Computers not knowing anything about the problem and they took care of me right off the bat. I was completely taken by surprise by this shop. My kids had been experiencing some issues with our older home computer. I more or less knew what the issue was, and had fully expected to have to replace the computer, although fixing it wasn't impossible, though not cost effective. The guys knew exactly what was the issue from just hearing the symptoms, and they laid it out nice and simple. Gave me a few options, either buy an external drive and have them move all my files from my hard drive onto it, buy a new computer and have them move the files on it, or simply recover my existing hard drive from the computer and essentially convert it into an external USB drive. That was the cheapest option, quickest, and definitely the best for me. They didn't make as much money from me had they pushed the other options, but they were honest and didn't hustle me, or push the issue. They've earned a repeat customer for sure.
