Gadeer is a true artist and a miracle worker. I have super fine hair and she always manages to make me look like a hair model when she's done. She is very precise and takes great pride in her work. I was part of a bridal party this past weekend. When I arrived at the hotel to get ready, the bride's hair was already finished at 9am for a 3pm wedding ceremony ! Two other ladies were still there to finish the rest of the bridal party (5 including me), one of which rushed out at 10am and left one person there to finish up the last two bridesmaids. They didn't entirely accommodate the looks we wanted because everything was a mad rush and the bride (yes the bride !!!) ended up finishing everyone's hair and adding extensions etc to get our hair as we wanted it. Maybe this was a one off incident but I don't think any bride should be treated like that on her wedding day. Not to mention the price we were charged was more than any other wedding I have been in for a rush job on hair. read more

Hello I brought my daughter to get her hair done here on May 3rd 2022 and was surprised by the terrible service. All I see on the reviews is how amazing this salon is but I felt judged and was spoken rude to by the stylist when trying to explain what my daughter wanted as she doesn't speak proper English well. Not sure if she was racist or just unprofessional but I do not recommend this place to anyone. Once the haircut was done, we paid and left. I was referred to Elie's by one of my friends and I'm beyond happy she did. I came in 3 weeks ago for my color and cut before the big day and he did an amazing job. I then decided to consult for my wedding and he gave me very reasonable prices for taking care of myself and my wedding party in Morristown. I felt like a princess and we were treated exceptionally well. I first came across Elie Michel on Yelp, as he had a five star rating. I called and he quickly confirmed an appointment within the same day. He was very professional, polite and understanding. Shopping at the Riverside Mall in Hackensack I spotted a woman with a very nice haircut I stopped her and asked what salon she got the haircut from and she named the Elie Tanous Salon located in the mall She also recommended a stylist named Oki but to be honest I was surprised she got a cut from a mall salon. I researched them seem pretty good according to reviews So thought I give them a try but Much to my surprise from the moment I entered the salon I was pleasantly welcomed checked in waited a little because I was early then I was escorted in for a hair wash (with Maddie best hair wash ever !) anyway after her magic hands I finally met Oki ! I've revied this salon before but felt I needed to again..... I was blessed/cursed with extremely thick, coarse, would be 100% gray hair. I have been to hell and back in terms of really bad experiences - both at other hair salons and of my own doing (box dye - whoops). I finally found Sarah and followed her to Elie Tanous Salon at Riverside. Sarah is beyond amazing - I can finally, truly say that I love my hair. She is an expert colorist and knows exactly how to cut my thick hair. At 50 I love my hair so much more than when I was 20 or 30. I never would have thought I'd say that. I was definitely a little intimidated the first time I walked into the salon but that was ridiculous because they are all lovely - everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Since reopening after Covid, they have all their safety precautions in place and strictly follow guidelines, which is a comfort. I've been to many hair salons and Elie Tanous is by far my favorite. I scheduled an appointment with Ashley, and on my first visit, I was so glad I found her and the salon. She is excellent with color.
