I can't remember the name of my hairdresser but she did a near perfect job for my event. My hair does not stay curled easily and often falls out of bobby-pins yet she made them stay perfectly all night long. She listened to what I wanted and made the back perfect (I will have to add a picture of it later). The front was stunning. On top of this, I have been attempting to get my boyfriend to wax his eyebrows (just clean them up underneath not to thin them out) and the hairdresser in the next station offered to do it while my hair was finished. I recently had my 9 year daughter's hair cut at Plaza Salon, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the results. I had high expectations going into the salon, but unfortunately, the experience turned out to be a complete letdown. First of all, the stylist was okay when she started washing my daughters hair but then when she started cutting there was some misunderstanding with my requests and preferences. I tried to explain the specific style I was going for, but she appeared to be in a rush. Moreover, the haircut itself was a disaster. It was nothing like my daughter and I had asked for. Her bangs were cut too short from the side it was long and she absolute hate it and she is very unhappy. I had hoped that the price I paid for the haircut would reflect the skill and expertise of the stylist, but sadly, that was not the case. I have had much better haircuts at more affordable salons in the past, and this experience has left me with a sense of regret. I paid $55 for the kids hair cut? I' m not from jersey and i was in a rush and it happened. When i showed up we figured it out what happened. The lady at the front desck was very helpful and told me eventhough i don't have an appointment with them they would more than happy to help me out. I've decided to stay because it was too late to get to the other salon. I wanted to get vintage waves. I had a few fails before when i requested this hairstyle here in the US and this time it came close to what i wanted but they were still curls and not waves. 65$ curls... little bit expencive for what i got but i am grateful for helping me. I have been a loyal customer of plaza salon since it's previous location in garden state mall, always got my haircut and blowouts there. I can genuinely say that every time I left more than satisfied and have never hesitated to recommend this salon. Their hospitality remains unmatched and they have plenty of amenities like coffee and tea for long processes or if you just need a warm beverage. I got a full head of highlight done by Christina early this year and she is a true pleasure and a full professional. I always felt comfortable and in good hands. I was unsure of the color I wanted but trusted her expertise and it came out beautiful and I received so many compliments on my new look. Fast forward to July I wanted a new look and to go lighter and I knew it would be a challenge since I have dark brown hair. However, yet again Christina did some magic and lightened it beautifully without damaging my hair. I love how she shares every step of the process with me. He gave me excellent advice, made me super comfortable with my decision, and was able to fit me in immediately since I am traveling soon. I noticed that all the stylists treated their clients like they were VIP's - but in a really personal way which was nice. They had a diverse clientele- but everyone was treated like family. I hate salons where there is an attitude of exclusivity - because let's face it - someone cutting your hair is pretty personal. Joshua was super professional, but was able to relate to me and provide guidance in my choice for length and style. I highly recommend him for hair extensions. There are a ton of seats inside, so the wait is never long though making a reservation is never a bad idea. When I decided to try keratin for the first time, I looked for reviews with pictures of keratin AFTER washing. Couldn't find any. I didn't want my hair to be pin straight like it had been flat ironed, I wanted to keep some body and wave but get rid of the frizz. I went to Natisha and she did an awesome job with the Keratin and also cut my hair exactly the way that I wanted it. I'm always envious of other people's hair - and this is the first salon experience I've had where I am 100% happy with my hair. I highly recommend Natisha and will definitely go back to her!!!! I've been bringing my kids to Plaza Salon since they've been at the Garden State Plaza - so it's going on 13 years or so. Whether I've been a walk-in or an appointment, the front desk staff has always been accommodating and friendly. The talent of the hair stylists/barbers is unmatched - which is why I've been a loyal follower. When one of the barbers left to go on his own, I tried going to his salon, but it didn't match the friendly, upbeat atmosphere I felt at Plaza Salon. So I came back and I'm glad I did. Most of the time Jay cuts my boys' hair but Jeff does an equally fantastic job. In fact, my son who is extremely sensitive to getting his hair cut, will ONLY go to Jay which says a lot about Jay's personality, expertise and quality of the cut. I started getting my hair services there as well and will not go anywhere else. Melissa is an expert at coloring - really taking the time to consider what you have in mind and what will work with your skin tone and hair texture. I've never been disappointed with her coloring. Christina is a whiz with the scissors! I love my most recent haircut that she did - I took about 5 inches off my heavy, curly, hair and it feels and looks fantastic. Finally, Mila does my keratin. Taking my thick, curly hair to silky straight cannot be an easy task, but somehow she does it. I'm sure her arms are exhausted by the time she's done, but she does a fantastic job. Even though it's only supposed to last 3-4 months, my hair is still silky smooth and frizz free whether I blow dry it or leave it curly and it's been almost 9 months! I'm definitely a loyal follower! Keep up the good work! My only suggestion would be to offer either a loyalty program or promotions every now and then. But otherwise, I'm happy going there! read more

never ever really write reviews but I can't help feeling extremely disappointed by the service I received here. I made my apt 2 weeks in adv and had been looking forward to it so much. I got a recommendation to get my hair done w Rosa from someone who had their hair colored exactly the shade I wanted. I told the receptionist I wanted to lighten and color my hair and when I got there not only did they tell me they'd be unable to do the service since she didn't have enough time but also rosa was extremely unhelpful in working with me to achieve what I wanted. She questioned my choice a lot and I was like.... mmm I think I know what I want??? Im paying you to help me achieve it. Not blow it off bc it seems like it would be a lot of work?? just seemed like Rosa wasn't actually there to help you but just to get stuff over with and make a buck. It's a shame bc I really was looking for someone to create a professional regular relationship with. Since everything is shut down and it's been over a month and I always am at the salon every three weeks but I just thought nobody would see my hair since we all have to be home . I never realized not having my hair done really made me feel horrible so I called the Salon that is closed but the owner answer Tony is his name and told him I need help I need to get my roots done . He had everything ready told me to pull up and he will give me my color . He gave me a beautiful bag with color in two separate bottles,directions,shampoo,leave in conditioner and gloves . Got a haircut here. I was satisfied with my haircut did what they were supposed to. My hairstylist was really sweet and conversational, however, when I asked her to do specific things like "thin" out my hair because it's really really thick. She told me no and that it wouldn't look good. I told her I've always had it done this way but since I was new in the area I was looking for a new stylist that could cut my hair similar to what I had it before. She also told me I shouldn't cut it as short as I wanted to because it wouldn't look good. I wasn't upset but I wish I could've got what I paid for. As a busy mom of three kids, I finally had time to book an hair appointment to get my hair cut. I was given Nani as my stylist. I originally wanted a inverted long bob and she was quick to tell me that this style was going to be too much maintenance. I left my hair in her hands and she delivered 100%. I was able to keep my long length while having these gorgeous long layers and amazing side bangs. I was so utterly happy with the results and just simply love my new haircut.
