They also have a lot of BOGO deals, sales, freebies, and events to give you chances to multiply your points. At Sephora, you can only use your points towards whatever samples they are offering at that time. They don't have as many incentives. *They offer brow services *They have a fully operating hair salon *Stores are generally much more spacious and bigger I would say two of the biggest cons are that Ulta does not carry many "hot" or "unique brands"... I…read moreinitially left this review and got attacked by the manager Lysa, who is the owner's daughter, who proceeded to make up lies about me and made up medical conditions that I supposedly have that caused my hair to fall out, saying my hair is "thinning" haha. I am a young woman. What a joke. Plus, she knows nothing about me and we've only spoken about hair color twice. She recommended a color the first time that dyed my roots ORANGE. should've never come back after that. My mistake. Anyway, I was coming here weekly for three and a half months for blowouts, due to a shoulder injury and difficult to straighten hair on my own. Wanted to save money and this place is cheaper than my previous salon. I also had my hair colored three times. I saw Jenn H mostly, but also CeCi Jones a few times when Jenn was out. Well, one day, CeCi was blow-drying my hair, and suddenly I smelled hair burning. So did the manager Lysa, the other stylist Katherine, and the blonde receptionist. They all mentioned it and started walking around looking to find the source of the smell. I was literally the ONLY client in that room. I told them several times that it was coming from me, but CeCi kept denying it. So instead of coming to check my hair, they let it go. Very nice. I couldn't deal with the confrontation, and went home. It seemed fine. I came back the following Saturday for a blowout with Jenn. She didn't mention anything was wrong with my hair, yet when I went home, the hair at my temple was completely burned off. So CeCi started the job, weakend my hair, and Jenn finished it off, as Michelle the manager explained and as did a stylist I spoke to from another salon. I came back another time and spoke with Michelle. She was super nice and apologetic, and went to speak to both stylists, who of course lied to her face and denied everything. Absolutely shocking. Well Michelle offered to do a free color and blowout with a bonding treatment, as well as another free blowout. I agreed. It was with Jenn. Jenn continued to burn more of my hair off at my temples and all around my face on both occasions. I am so upset, I cannot believe I gave her two chances and each time, she completely ruined all my hair. Also, I had someone inspect my hair and found greys already grown out. I had my hair dyed three times at this salon, first time with Jenn, second time with one of the other girls, and last time with Jenn. So either the first or second time, someone didn't cover all the roots. The girl that colored my hair the second time, someone didn't cover all the roots. The girl that colored my hair the second time also somehow got the dye all over my face and didn't even say or do anything. I had to use my own tissues to scrub it off and luckily it came off as I was wearing makeup. And, none of these people ever washed my hair well. I would come home and find thick amounts of hair dye inside and behind my ears. Seriously? And not only that, but the products used at this salon are no name cheap garbage. My hair used to be so healthy and shiny before I came to this salon. Now my hair is dull and looks and feels terrible. As soon as I went to another salon and had treatment done, my hair is already looking healthier. Same with my mom who I mistakenly sent there. She complained about the cheap products ruining her hair as well and switched salons. These are horrible people and liars. You messed up someone's hair, be an adult, take responsibility, and apologize. Instead, they attack and spread lies. Absolutely disgusting. Stay away. Lysa, if you attack me one more time and commit defamation about my medical problems, I will sue you. Your salon did this to me, you deserve this review. Deal with it.

I had my hair colored at Madison Reed, and when I checked out, I agreed to sign up for a membership. The very next day, I decided it wasn't worth the cost and canceled it. Even though I canceled in June, I was still charged in July, and I was told I would be charged again in August because of a "billing cycle." I don't understand why I'm being charged after canceling, and the explanation I received wasn't clear. The salon service was fine, but I'm very disappointed with how the membership cancellation has been handled. Customers deserve clear information about when their cancellation takes effect and whether any additional charges will apply. I hope Madison Reed improves its communication and billing practices.

She did a great job with my highlights and left me in awe. I was recommending everyone I knew to her, I was singing her praises. I even took my own aunt (who lives in NY) to this place. I made her come here for HAIR. Fast forward to July 1 2021. My cousin was getting married and I needed my hair done really nice. My hair was grown out. The artist I went to claims it is was 6 inches, maybe there was but it didn't seem like it to me because the highlights from the previous job were still pretty high. I told her I want a full head of highlights, and I want them the same color as I want them last time. She kept talking about how much regrowth I had and that the salon usually doesn't allow this much regrowth to be worked on (which i found so odd) but that she would do it for me anyway. I was pleased that she would do my hair because I liked her work... ALOT. I didn't get my hair blow dried because I was going to do it myself and see and feel the hair because I like my hair done a certain way and no one can achieve the look on yourself the way you would know. And I don't know what it is about salon lighting, but everything looks great under it. So I am like okay it looks good. It wasn't something that I was absolutely in love with but I thought maybe I don't like it because it my hair is still wet. I get home and I'm trying to blowdry my hair and it's YELLOW. I asked for neutral toned hair, and I came back with YELLOW. There was no blending done in the highlights, the bleach bled everywhere, my hair strands were making me look like a zebra. I messaged the artist and she was like come back tomorrow and we will fix it. I show up the next day, July 2 2021, and first thing's first I spoke to the manager and asked for a 50% refund because this was ridiculous but at the same time I felt bad that she spent so much time and effort on my hair so I thought it was reasonable to ask for 50% and I got it to. I went to the artist after speaking to the manager and she has an attitude with me. Acting like she doesn't see what I am talking about, being weird about the 3-4 places I showed her that were looking bad. And at the end of it I was like, "Please take a comb and look through the layers of my hair. Look at the bled bleach that is on my hair and look at the chunkiness and the look of it." And she see does that and goes, "Ah, I see what you're talking about. But I don't know how this happened. You see, you had a lot of regrowth." And I cut her off, like excuse me??? Me having regrowth does not mean you botch my hair. But she said she was going to fix it. And she did - only the parts that were very visible. She fixed the parts that were on top of my head, but anything in the layers of my hair was still the same. She fixed the tone of my hair so I was okay with that but I didn't realize she didn't thoroughly fix my hair. She made sure that I was so satisfied, she was giving me their top hair mask services, and blow drying and cutting my hair, making sure I was as happy as could be. When I left the salon, I was satisfied and I thought everything was great, but boy was I wrong. I am in California now, I am getting my hair done by hair stylists because I am the (technically) sister of the groom and I am front and center and I was having all these intricate hair styles done on me, but every time I sat in the chair of the hairstylist, they said "I can't do this hairstyle because your highlights are is chunky from within and there are so many harsh lines that it will show and it will look bad." So the entire wedding, I WORE MY HAIR ONE WAY. Straight or blow-dried. I was there for about 2.5 weeks so I couldn't even come back and get it fixed again because I had been gone for quite a while.
