Some pros of Ulta: *You get the best of both worlds because they carry both drugstore and high-end beauty brands. They've added a lot more brands recently. I was shook lol. So you'll have much more variety when you shop. *Their rewards/points system is unmatched. The points you accumulate can be used as discounts on future purchases. They also have a lot of BOGO deals, sales, freebies, and events to give you chances to multiply your points. At Sephora, you can only use your points towards whatever samples they are offering at that time. They don't have as many incentives. *They offer brow services *They have a fully operating hair salon *Stores are generally much more spacious and bigger I would say two of the biggest cons are that Ulta does not carry many "hot" or "unique brands"... Sephora definitely does. I've also had better customer service at Sephora. This Ulta location can be a hit or miss with the employees. Some are very knowledgeable about products and some are not. They're also stingy with samples. One thing's for sure... you step into Ulta wanting one item, and you'll walk out with 10...

On three occasions when I've called again because no one called me back, the phone operator, Jen, claims she has called me back and left a voicemail, which she has not. I get phone calls and voicemails every day without issue. She tells me, with attitude, that "I better check my voicemails again." When I reply I didn't get it, oh well, I just want to book an appointment, she continues to aggressively berate me and ignore my multiple requests to book an appointment until she calms down. We had this last unfortunate exchange on October 16, 2024 at 10:09am. This has happened 3 other previous times. Her attitude has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will no longer be visiting this venue. This is unfortunate because my stylist, Christina, is friendly, funny, and truly talented, and I highly recommend her. Future clients beware: DO NOT CALL!!!! I suggest coming in person, or finding a better venue.

There was also no mirror check at the end, and no styling advice or opportunity to request adjustments, which made it harder to address issues before leaving. On a previous visit, I brought my younger sister in for highlights. The service itself was fine, but at the end, the stylist loudly said, "Thank GOD, that's over with!" while we were still nearby. It made what should have been a fun, memorable experience feel uncomfortable and awkward. I understand that not every appointment goes perfectly, and I initially brushed off the first experience. However, after the haircut issue, I feel there are some consistency and professionalism concerns. Small things like checking the final result with a mirror, offering minor adjustments, and being mindful of comments within earshot of clients would go a long way. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!…read more I wish I could give this salon a 0 star review, truly. I have gotten my hair done from an artist there in October 2020. She did a great job with my highlights and left me in awe. I was recommending everyone I knew to her, I was singing her praises. I even took my own aunt (who lives in NY) to this place. I made her come here for HAIR. Fast forward to July 1 2021. My cousin was getting married and I needed my hair done really nice. My hair was grown out. The artist I went to claims it is was 6 inches, maybe there was but it didn't seem like it to me because the highlights from the previous job were still pretty high. I told her I want a full head of highlights, and I want them the same color as I want them last time. She kept talking about how much regrowth I had and that the salon usually doesn't allow this much regrowth to be worked on (which i found so odd) but that she would do it for me anyway. I was pleased that she would do my hair because I liked her work... ALOT. I didn't get my hair blow dried because I was going to do it myself and see and feel the hair because I like my hair done a certain way and no one can achieve the look on yourself the way you would know. And I don't know what it is about salon lighting, but everything looks great under it. So I am like okay it looks good. It wasn't something that I was absolutely in love with but I thought maybe I don't like it because it my hair is still wet. I get home and I'm trying to blowdry my hair and it's YELLOW. I asked for neutral toned hair, and I came back with YELLOW. There was no blending done in the highlights, the bleach bled everywhere, my hair strands were making me look like a zebra. I messaged the artist and she was like come back tomorrow and we will fix it. I show up the next day, July 2 2021, and first thing's first I spoke to the manager and asked for a 50% refund because this was ridiculous but at the same time I felt bad that she spent so much time and effort on my hair so I thought it was reasonable to ask for 50% and I got it to. I went to the artist after speaking to the manager and she has an attitude with me. Acting like she doesn't see what I am talking about, being weird about the 3-4 places I showed her that were looking bad. And at the end of it I was like, "Please take a comb and look through the layers of my hair. Look at the bled bleach that is on my hair and look at the chunkiness and the look of it." And she see does that and goes, "Ah, I see what you're talking about. But I don't know how this happened. You see, you had a lot of regrowth." And I cut her off, like excuse me??? Me having regrowth does not mean you botch my hair. But she said she was going to fix it. And she did - only the parts that were very visible. She fixed the parts that were on top of my head, but anything in the layers of my hair was still the same. She fixed the tone of my hair so I was okay with that but I didn't realize she didn't thoroughly fix my hair. She made sure that I was so satisfied, she was giving me their top hair mask services, and blow drying and cutting my hair, making sure I was as happy as could be. When I left the salon, I was satisfied and I thought everything was great, but boy was I wrong. I am in California now, I am getting my hair done by hair stylists because I am the (technically) sister of the groom and I am front and center and I was having all these intricate hair styles done on me, but every time I sat in the chair of the hairstylist, they said "I can't do this hairstyle because your highlights are is chunky from within and there are so many harsh lines that it will show and it will look bad." So the entire wedding, I WORE MY HAIR ONE WAY. Straight or blow-dried. I was there for about 2.5 weeks so I couldn't even come back and get it fixed again because I had been gone for quite a while.
