Small little bar specializing in beer. I loved how their menu is split into "Beer" and "Non-Beer" lol. They have lots of canned beers and some on tap. Their "Non-Beer" is mostly wine, and soda pop. They have some hard liquor, but it's limited (and just the regular vodka, rum, whiskey, etc. no liqueurs or anything fancy. I asked if they had sour mix and they said no, so I'm guessing they only mix with soda pop). Food menu is small. I came with some beer lovers. They had beers. I wanted a whiskey sour, but they couldn't make it, so I got a non-alcoholic drink (root beer). I'm not going to fault the place for this because their focus is obviously beer. The place is kind of small. They have some TVs with sports streaming. They had a really big screen that showed the menu. I thought that was weird. Why didn't they show sports on that screen? We already have the menu in front of us, lol. We got a basket of fries ($5). They were shoestring fries and really good, although a bit too overly salted. Their menu looked interesting, but we already ate before coming. Our server was nice and friendly. She seemed to feel bad that I couldn't find a drink that I liked. She even gave me a sample of some raspberry sour beer to try. I didn't like it, but not her fault, and at least she tried. I think this would be a cool place to hang out for beer lovers. read more

I always walked by this spot and was curious to try it out, so I came on a Monday evening after work to wind down. ALL of their beers are local, which is fantastic! There's a huge selection and all the empty cans are displayed on the wall. Right after work there weren't that many people but it got steadily more full. I tried three of the food dishes, and the Nashville chicken was definitely the best as it was spiced enough. The mozzarella sticks were ok (need to be more crispy), and the cauliflower had a bit too much sauce. However, the food is generally tasty, but it's a hit or miss. Presentation was better than expected for a beer place! Service is quick and attentive. Pretty cozy spot to relax over some beers! read more

A lot of local beers to choose from! If you tend to pick your beer from the look of the can, go inside and look at the wall of beers! Server was busy, but attentive and helpful in recommending beers based on our preferences. The food menu is smaller, and mainly small plates/appetizer type foods, but I it all looked good! We had the General Tao Cauliflower. The portion was smaller than I expected, but a good small snack for two. Flavours were great, and just the right amount of sauce. The popcorn looked good too, but we didn't get a chance to try it. Overall, a good place to stop by for drinks and snacks after a day at work, or after dinner if you want another drink. read more

Went here on a whim tonight (friend picked it because there was beer in the name). I usually research online here or elsewhere before i go out....read the menu and then make my final decision. So i was throw for a loop with this place. First impression was a rustic but clean line resto/pub sorta deal. Not a snobby atmosphere that you tend to find in downtown ottawa who proclaim they are a gastro pub ha ha. Food menu at first glance i was inimpressed with size but once i got reading I got more and more excited. I had the brisket sliders that were good but found they missed a punch of flavour. Either a bbq sauce or a pickled jalapeno or something, but they were good. Next was was the cauliflower kung pao which i coulda had 4 servings of because they were sooooo good. Lightly battered cauliflower florets, with a asian/beef/onion reduction with a slight bit of heat....these were top notch. Friend had a French Fry Stir fry, she enjoyed but i didnt get to try a bite. All plates were clean, very reasonably priced, they do have full size dishes but I like small sampling type food and pretty much 3/4 of the menu. Food service is when the food is ready it comes to the table so dont wait for your friends food before you start. Server was uber friendly. I will be back again! read more

BREW-tal service. We came here after the races on Ottawa Race Weekend and noticed the restaurant was closed. We approached the window and noticed there was a man inside. He raised his hand and signalled "5", and we took that as in "we're opening in 5 minutes." We sat down on the patio and opened an umbrella, willing to wait the 5 minutes until the restaurant opened. Not 2 minutes later the man inside came out, disgruntled, and yelled at us that they were closed. He then proceeded to tell us how "running wasn't the only thing taking place this weekend and it certainly didn't top the list of what was important to him." He mentioned that there were Brewer Awards happening that day as well. There is a way to speak to people and this guy does NOT know how to do that. read more

We're staying down the street at an illegal airbnb (please don't tell the landlord). We came here twice in the last couple days. What they lack in number of taps, they make up for in variety. The draft menu had changed a lot over two days. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and tried most of the vegetarian items on the food menu. The snap peas were our favorite, the fried mushrooms our least. On the first night it was raining and the host made sure we obeyed the strict law by keeping our dog out from under the shelter of the patio table. Mostly we experienced good service though last night it took a while to get silverware and our second beers. read more

This place pwons. The beer menue is fantastic and the staff is super nice. It's loud and crowded, but in a good way. Crowd is sophisticated but casual - you can wear jeans and a t-shirt or suit and tie and nobody will care. Great for couples or groups. Prices are fantastic - LOVE THIS BAR! read more

Went here for dinner today and I'll tell you that is a mistake. Fantastic place to grab a beer but its not dinner quality. Portions are tiny and very oddly flavoured, decent for a snack but definetely not a meal. They only have 6 beer on tap which i found strange for a place with beer in the title but the ones we tried were great. Service was amazing, our server was very personable, with a great attitude and even asked the owner where a beer was produced for us. We will probably go here again for a drink but will eat beforehand. read more

Went there with some friends and had a great time. Servers were welcoming and knowledgeable. Amazing beer selection, duh because it's a beer place, but still hard to come by in Ottawa! Elgin Beer Project is a regular stop for my friends and I. Amazing local beer selection that is constantly changing to reflect local interests, seasonal preferences, unique brews, etc. Five Island Watermelon - Calabogie Brewing Co. is a personal favourite - There really is something for everyone. The food is unreal and reasonably priced, as the chef is very talented and designed the menu from scratch. This reflects the quality of the ingredients, as even the bread is made in house. Service is friendly and efficient, music is on point, and there's always a great view of sport's games (even on the patio). I would definitely recommend EBP, it's new, but slowly becoming an Ottawa staple. read more
