Very cool experience but expect to wait in line for at least 30 minutes. Drinks were delicious and ambience is great.

Let's start off by saying, we made a mistake coming on St. Patrick's Day. Instead of walking into a cool, chill speakeasy... we instead walked into a sea of tacky green decor that totally took away from the vibe and obnoxious music. I understand that they are owned by the same family as the Irish bar next door, but I confidently say that this wasn't a great choice. The bartenders were awesome. Super friendly and obviously very knowledgeable about the drinks. Even they seemed annoyed about the chaotic change in the usually cool environment. Drinks were pretty good. I didn't actually love my first drink and the bartender happily made me another that was perfect. Customer service in that aspect was great. read more

This is my first speakeasy I've ever been to and Eleven Twenty-Two has set the bar really high. During my visit here over the weekend, we came here on Friday night and Saturday at 5pm. This our 3rd time here and every time and every drink we've had has been fantastic. This time around, we were seated at the bar and it was fantastic being able to converse with Matt. Learned a lot about their drinks and local establishments to visit. He was also testing out a new banana daiquiri drink that was going to be part of their summer menu. He created his own banana syrup using bananas and sugar that he let ferment for about 2 days. Although the drink was still being refined, what he made for me was great. I think that between my wife and myself, we probably have gone through half of their menu from all 3 visits. Each time ordering at least 2 drinks each. What's also great is that they haven't changed their prices for a few years now. Every drink we've had was fantastic and haven't had a bad one yet and I don't think we ever will. Keep in mind that they do change out their seasonal drinks twice a year. The establishment seats about 24 people with about 8 at the bar. It's a very small establishment that's located in the back of Pappy McGregor's Gastropub. One big thing to note is that cell phones are not allowed inside. They give you a sleeve to put your phone in and it's locked for your 90 minute session. The server will come by 20 minutes before your time is up to remind you. Again, a fantastic place to get drinks and the prices are pretty reasonable also. read more

Interesting bar experience in the Paso Robles downtown area! The bar had a very nice vibe and pop/jazz music playing. Your cellphone gets locked in a pouch but you can easily step out if you want to check it. Great attention to drinks and the spicy last qaxacan was probably my favorite! Had heard about this through some friends. Rang the door bell and the guy checked how many in our party, then let us in, locked up our cell phones and showed us to the table. You are given 90 minutes to enjoy the place. We walked up to the bar to order, requested something that wasn't on the menu (I had heard of a shot at another table with brown sugar bourbon that sounded good and asked if he could make that into an after dinner drink). The bartender wasn't thrilled that I had made that request. My brother-in-law and I then sat down and commented that it felt like they were doing us a favor by letting us drink there. We were kind of put off by it and said that we would have one drink then leave. Then we watched them make the drinks and they were incredible. As a former bartender, the time and effort they put into each drink was above and beyond, so we figured that our initial feeling may have just been their "Schtick" and how people may have been treated in the 1920's sneaking into a real speak easy. My wife and sister-in-law had the "Island of the Bed" drink that had a flavor infused ice cube in the drink that would change the flavor of the drink as it melted away. That was pretty cool. Anyway....90 minutes went really fast, but after getting over our bad first impression, we enjoyed the experience and would definitely return again. read more

Located behind the alley of Pappy McGregor's. A true speakeasy experience. So happy we were able to get in. The wait is extremely long so reservations are a must. We arrived a few minutes before they opened at 6pm and waited for roughly 1 hour and 15 min for a party of two. The line is confusing because the worker only comes out every half hour to acknowledge the crowd and asks aloud if you have a reservation. There were multiple people who stood in the line even though they had a reservation and missed their time slot. If you have a reservation go directly up to the door and ring the doorbell to speak with someone or you risk losing your reservation. They strictly enforce the no phones policy by putting your phones in an individual locked bag that you keep with you upon checking in. Upon entering there's definitely a wow factor since it's so secretive and you don't know what the interior looks like. The space is very small with roughly 30 seats so I understand why the wait is so long. It was really cozy and it was like stepping back in time. The vibe was really enjoyable and the cocktails were fantastic. I ordered the espresso martini and it was the best I ever had. If you're stopping by Paso Robles I definitely recommend checking this spot out - it's totally worth it. read more

I've been here a couple of times and always had a good experience, but this last time was above and beyond! We popped in around 6:30 on a Saturday while killing time down town before a dinner reservation. We rang the bell and they told us there was a short wait but it was not more than 3 minutes. Once seated we were perusing the menu (prices seem to have gone down since my first time here, between $11-$15), and we just couldn't make up our mind. Our bartender Tony came and asked if we knew what we wanted or if we needed some help. He ended up asking us what we enjoyed and surprising us with two drinks. They were INCREDIBLE! He hit the nail on the head! We had two rounds, both times we let him chose for us and we were so pleased! Much better than trying to navigate their expansive menu ourselves. Not a welcoming place. Went with friends on a cold night. Several other groups in line outside waiting to get in gave up and left. When we finally reached the entrance we were accused of cutting ahead of others and the group behind us were let in ahead of us causing multiple staff members to come outside to verify with others in line that we were indeed next. They have a time limit on how long you can stay and we were asked to leave before others around us who were there before us were asked to go. Waited in line for 15 minutes and right when the bouncer was about to check our IDs he said "sorry can't let you in because you looked drunk". We had just one wine tasting before and then came to this bar. I have never been denied from any bar in my life. This was incredibly disrespectful, considering the fact that I was not drunk at all. The fact that I am in Paso Robles, a tiny little town, and they are that strict is appalling considering they're denying sober people. They made me feel incredibly disrespected. I will never be back to this bar and I will never ever recommend this place to anybody in my life. It was an absolutely horrific experience. We came here on a Saturday evening. The speakeasy concept was very alluring, so we decided to wait and endure the confusing line and wait times to experience it. It's a very small venue, so the wait time was around 45 minutes for our group of two. Once we got in, it was a really cute bar with 30's style accents and decor. We got two drinks and loved both of them, and the people around us seemed to love their drinks as well. They have a no phones policy which helped the intimate feeling of the location. First time coming to this place. There was 6 of us and they brought 3 people in at a time. The place is small. We lucked out on parking and there was no one ahead of us in the line. The guidelines no pictures to be taken and to keep noise down. Cell phones are put on lockdown and they release it before you leave. We tried their brown bourbon, orange Julius and the bourbon lemonade tea and gin tonic. All the drinks were tasty. Will come visit this place next time we're here in Paso Robles. read more

This was a surprise find during a one night stay in Paso Robles. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Wish I had pics of our amazing drinks, but they lock up your cellphone upon entry. Our host Layton played the part well. It was a very dramatic entry through the bookcase. Decor was on point. So were the drinks. What a hidden gem! We had no idea we were walking up to a speakeasy when we looked up cocktail bars on Yelp. We came to a large door with a doorbell and a line of people. Coming from San Francisco, however, five-or-six people in line is not daunting. We patiently waited for 15-20 minutes for the patrons to cycle through. Although the space isn't too small, they make sure the vibe is homey and comfortable, not packed and annoying. The hostess was very professional and made sure to keep everyone in line (including two "models" who were upset they couldn't go in right away). Inside, the ambiance is straight out the 1920s with very unique features from the monkey lamps to the large bar. The cocktails were THE BEST. Intricate concoctions that take a few minutes to make. The bartenders were knowledgeable and obviously passionate about their craft. I don't want to ruin the menu since they don't post it online, but get anything that has an egg white in it. Was passing through Paso Robles and found Eleven Twenty-Two through Yelp. I'd highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for a glass of whiskey or a masterfully crafted cocktail in a hip, speakeasy-themed environment. The whiskey selection is much more extensive than I would have expected from a relatively small bar, including many hard-to-find bottles beyond just BTAC. A few notes: 1. The entrance may not be obvious (I entered via an Irish pub and was escorted to the speakeasy) 2. No cellphone usage is allowed so the phones will be put into a sack before entry (you still retain possession of your phone; you just can't open the sack til you're outside the bar) 3. Top notch bartender, top notch drinks. Very dark and romantic for a birthday cocktail before dinner with the wifey. I LOVE that there is no phone use allowed or photos. I wish this was made a law in the United States at every bar and restaurant. You may have to take out a lone to afford this place, but it was worth it for us. Definitely a special occasion spot. The only downside is I think it's owned by Papy McGregor's next to it. To me that sucks, because Papy McGregor's really sucks. But... this place does not suck. We will return. read more

Definitely a ZERO STAR establishment. Paso Robles is a quaint destination town that I elected to plan a evening with my wife for our anniversary. One of the deciding factors to pick Paso was Eleven Twenty-Two as we both have an affinity for speakeasies. Being able to purchase the Back Door Pass to ensure we would get in was the deciding factor. Knowing it was a one night trip, the guarantee of getting in was essential so I didn't hesitate to pay the high price ($50 per person plus fees). I booked a week in advance received my passes via email and was all set. On the night of, we opted to eat at Pappys before hand. We arrived at about 7:45pm. I decided to take a walk around and check the place out. I spoke to the host at the front door and explained that I had back door passes for the 10pm-12am time slot. She informed me find her or the other host at 10pm and we would be walked back to Eleven Twenty-Two, that was how the back door pass was handled. I asked if I needed to do anything else. She assured me I was good and just to approach the host at 10pm. About 15 minutes later I went to the restroom and decided to walk back to take a look at the speakeasy entrance out of curiosity. I was greated by Steve and I told him I had a back door pass for 10-12 and that the hostess had already explained to me the protocol. Steve says hold on and dashes off, comes back and tells me that my reservation was cancelled. I pull my email up yo find my tickets to show him. When I search for my back door pass I had a new email in my junk folder that was sent through the app telling me that at the last minute they book the whole speakeasy out for that time slot. And offered me the option to come at the 5pm-7pm slot. THE EMAIL WAS SENT TO MY JUNK FOLDER WITH THE TIME OF 5:30pm!!!!!!!!! How could you possibly cancel a reservation only hours before and offer someone to come at a time slot that was already passed?????? I remained calm and presumed this had to be a mistake. Steve left and came back on two occasions both times leaving me standing waiting for 5-10min. The only solution he offered was to email the owner. I asked if he would respond that night as my reservation was in a few hours. He said "I don't know". I asked if I could speak to the highest up present as I was told the GM was present and that we would at least like to gain entry at that time (now 8:30pm) but still could enjoy until 10pm. I also asked since it was just me and my wife if we could just keep our time slot as we wouldn't be any bother to the other group nor would we mind if they were a larger group and loud. He said "let me check". I stood waiting for over 15min until my wife walked back and I explained to her. Obviously we were both pretty upset and confused. We returned to our table at Pappys and our waitress inquired what the situation was. We explained and she was baffled and told us she would check and see. She came back and it seemed as if she was reprimanded for inquiring (that's my assumption) but she had no explanation and it was just so awkward all together. Our waitress Chloe really was kind, attentive and the only reason we stayed at Pappys. That and it's 9pm and what else are you going to do. We drove 5 hours to spend one night in Paso and the whole night was nothing that I planned. I obviously emailed the owner asking for him to please allow me and my wife access prior to, or at our regular reservation time, adamantly expressing we were in town for ONE NIGHT. The next morning I received to separate emails from the owner. One stated that venue had been booked out and he forgot to block out those dates and it was his mistake. The other said they had a last minute sell out. They were sent only minutes apart and clearly he didn't intend to send one or the other. Not only that, but the owner offered passes for the following night when my email expressed numerous times, in ALL CAPS that we were only in town for one night. I exchanged a few emails back and forth and the fact that our reservation was canceled only hours prior, nor the fact that we were there for one night were never addressed. I think the best way to sum it up.....as I stood waiting for 15 minutes on the back patio for Steve, a seemingly regular customer of Pappys who witnessed me just getting stiff armed in every direction and then left to stand there like a fool, turns and says to me "they are snobby back there". P.S. while sitting at Pappys eating dinner. FYI we were literally no more than 100ft from Eleven Twenty-Two, we asked if we could at least order a couple cocktails from the speakeasy menu. NO. All around disappointment. Thankfully Paso Robles was full of bars and restaurants, where we were treated with exemplary service at each and every other one. read more

A hidden gem, behind the square. It's quite hidden, so unless you know where you're going, can be difficult to find. "Look for the two lit lanterns", we were told "and push their door bell". Out popped a pair of eyes asking if we needed assistance. "Table for four at your speakeasy", we said with confidence. We were told that they were full, but after a 20 minute wait, we were able to get in at the bar. Our group of four all tried a different drink, and were pleased with each drink. I had ordered the passion fruit infused tequila cocktail, which was sugared with just the right amount of sweetness and tang. Our bartender was amazing, took the time to explain our questions. A bit more on the pricier end though, our cocktails were 14$ or 15$ each. read more

From the door attendant to the bartenders, they are super cool, very friendly and helpful with picking out something to drink. It's a small place with limited seating with small tables and some barstools at the bar. They have plenty spirits to choose from, ranging from reasonable prices to super high $$$ hard to find liquors. They have a great selection and kinda known as a Whiskey bar. This is one of our favorite bars in Paso- we have been here twice since it was re themed as a Tiki Bar! The menu has a lot of classic tiki options as well as some local ones. The bar is nicely themed and definitely had the tiki vibe down! The drinks are really well done. The service and stuff is also outstanding. We were fortunate enough to sit at the bar with Matt and had a great evening watching him craft drinks. Busy night, as usual, but wait time wasn't too bad and it met its objective of creating anticipation in the mind of our first-time guest. We received first-class treatment and quite the show in what actually turned out to be the best seats in the house. Honestly because of the current set up this isn't the place to bring 7-9 people on one group. We read about this place in a blog and were intrigued. they took reservations online so we made one(highly recommend btw). this place was hard to find as the place across the street is also numbered 1122. so, we were 10 min late. we had just missed the reservation cut-off time. the host was a little "Strict" and put us at the back of walk-in line because we were 1 min later than the reservation time.. that's why i am giving this place 4 stars and not 5. BUT, the cocktails were great. the bartenders knew their stuff. and this is coming from a person whose husband makes craft cocktails at home. the cocktails were layered, well-balanced and innovative. Another great visit to Eleven Twenty-Two in the books (literally!... if you don't understand now, you will after your visit). This last visit, we had the pleasure of being served by Eric who was delightful! He was very personable and every drink he made for us was delicious! If you are looking to visit I definitely recommend doing the reservation passes which waives the time limit and always lands us at the bar which is the best seat in the house. We get to watch the employees work their magic, you get to smell all the beautiful scents that stem from the mixology and you get to have great conversation with the awesome servers/mixologists/artists! read more

We came to 11-22 as part of a (low key) bachelorette weekend. I would have like to have made a table reservation ahead of time, as there were 5 of us, but that wasn't possible. I was assured that Sunday night is usually less of a wait. We were first in line when we showed up around 8:30pm. It still took 20 or so minutes to get in, which is okay, but I'm just not a wait in line kind of person. However, I loved what 11-22 had to offer. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 8.5 for living up to the hype. The space isn't so super small, with nice little group set up spots as well as a bar. It's dark and perfectly speak-easy themed without being obnoxious. The servers/bartenders were pretty amazing. I had a basic mixed drink but one of my friends got the smoke infused scotch or whiskey. The table service was Impeccable. The vibe is fun. In a way it's good that they limit the number of people allowed in so you don't have to worry about not having room to move or hearing the sound of your own voice. I'll take the hubby here next time in town. read more
