I was visiting my MIL over Mother's Day weekend. I wanted to take her somewhere we could listen and dance to Salsa music! We got there a bit too early. Feeling awkward.. we headed up to the bar. The DJ wasn't playing salsa music and I thought... shit! Did I just take my MIL to a club!! after a couple warm up songs, the DJ started to play Latin music... phew! I was even able to request some songs. The bartender was amazing! I'm bummed I don't remember his name. He thought it was super cool we bought our MIL for Mother's Day to dance. The whole night he was tentative to our cocktails and shots! Needless to say I plan to be back!! Thanks for a wonderful time.. til this day my husband doesn't let me forget that I took his mom to a club.

Attended the pre-grand opening of this bar and I'm so IMPRESSED! It has such a fun, modern vibe and the music was great and the drinks were so yummy! I tried a drink called the San Dia and it was made out of fresh watermelon and cucumber, no cheapy juice mix! Soo good! I even saw people ordering Hen-chatas (Hennessy and Horchata) which I've never seen in Santa Maria.. I usually only see those types of drinks in LA bars, so I was extra impressed. I can totally see this as a place I can come with my girlfriends and dance and have an amazing time! I can see this bar being packed because Santa Maria doesn't get a lot of new stuff and there are only a hand full of bars as it is. They have designated nights for house music, Latin music, etc. so I can see everyone enjoying this place

We were visiting from LA and my husband was craving a good michealada. He very much enjoyed it here, they make it with soy sauce and all of the fixings. I got a virgin mangonada which I would gladly get again. Around 10:30pm the crowd came in and the DJ was playing some pretty good music. The staff was very nice and the bar/nightclub was actually pretty clean with nice decor. Definitely a place to visit if you are in town! Wish they played more hip hop though

The awesome hot dogs out back. The $5 cover charge was worth it just for this.

What sort of full service bar doesn't have orange slices? I ordered an Old fashioned and the bartender made it hoping I wouldn't notice the lack of orange. I noticed. When I called him out on it, he offered to add a splash of orange juice. This place is less of a club and more of an overrated dive bar. Best thing about this place? The hot dog stand out back! Listen- if you're going to charge a cover and have a dress code (pretending to be exclusive) you should be prepared to cater to exclusive tastes. C'mon, no mezcal at a "día de los muertos" themed Mexican bar? It's all smoke and mirrors folks. Don't bother.

Happy Halloween 2016 Best Place in town!!!!

There was a high school reunion party going on in one area, and another area had a bar that was getting packed. I went to the bar to catch the end of the Padres game and met Karla. She was really cool, and her food order looked delicious. We talked and the place kept getting busier. The bartender told me locals never tip. My room was nice, with a lot of windows (four of them), blinds, a fridge, and a microwave. The toilet was very low. I heard the brunch here is really great, so I'll have to try it next time. The only issue is that I cancelled my second and third nights ahead of time, but the hotel charged me anyway. I'm following up with them about that. The hotel was quiet after 10pm. Overall it was a good stay and I would go back.

At that time, we were told that a room wasn't ready now, but that our room would be ready between 1-2pm. We ended up arriving later, at 3:15pm. Upon check-in, the gal at the front desk shared that our room wasn't yet ready--and that they would follow-up with housekeeping (and call me when the room was ready). I received this news while another customer complained to the second staff member that the keys he was given to his room don't work (she was not empathetic at all). At 4pm, I hadn't yet received a call, so I contacted the front desk by phone. After placing me on a 3-5 minute hold, the gal shared that our room was ready. I asked why no one called me as promised, and she said they "were busy." When I got our room keys, I asked if there was a manager to speak to about our room not being available at the hotel's promised check-in time (3p), and she shared that there was no supervisor or manager onsite (Saturday, by the way), and that she could offer me "a coupon for next time." Um...there will not be a next time. A couple hours later, I intended to call down to guest services from the phone in our room to request additional pillows for the night. However, both phones in our room were non-functional (one had a permanent busy tone and the other had no wires/cords whatsoever--it was hilarious). As a result, I went down to the front desk to ask in person. The response to my request was that they "will try, but it'll be a while." I shared that there was no rush, but having them in the next 3 hours (by 8p) was preferred. I attended our family party and went back to our room around 9pm; no extra pillows delivered. Because the room phones don't work, I texted my husband to swing by the front desk on his way up. Front desk staff (around 10p) told him that additional pillows would "take about an hour," so my husband told them not to bother. Upon check out the next morning, I asked the front desk if there was filtered water available somewhere to fill water bottles before getting on the road for our 3-hour trek. She pointed to a water machine in the lobby, but it didn't work when I tried to dispense water. I asked if I was doing something wrong, to which she replied, "if no water comes out, then we don't have any more." We left and stopped at a 7-eleven to buy a couple of bottles of water before getting on the freeway. We will never stay here again, and you shouldn't either.

The oak grilled open faced rib-eye sandwich was absolutely incredible. I'm not exaggerating when I say it had more flavor than Wolfgang Puck's CUT. The rib-eye was perfectly cooked to the medium temperature I requested, tender enough to bite through without a knife, and seasoned exactly the way Santa Maria style beef should be. So many places are too conservative with the seasoning these days, but they got it just right. Even the bread underneath the steak was perfect. It didn't even need salsa, but of course I tried it both ways. Honestly? I couldn't decide which I liked better because the sandwich was outstanding on its own. We also ordered the linguiça appetizer with garlic bread. The linguiça had that slight char from the grill that gives it so much flavor, and the mustard served alongside it was the perfect pairing. My mom ordered the prime rib sandwich with grilled onions and chose the 50/50 fries and grilled onions. The only minor criticism I have is that it wasn't quite a true 50/50 and could have used a few more grilled onions. Other than that, it was delicious. The pinquito beans have a little kick, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. The whole meal took me right back to growing up in the Santa Maria Valley cruising Broadway on Saturday while the entire town smelled like oak fired Santa Maria barbecue. We cook a lot at home, and we're pretty serious about our beef, so eating steak at restaurants is usually disappointing because very few places compare. That's why I was so impressed today. This wasn't just a good sandwich.. it was one of the best rib-eye sandwiches I've ever had. To whoever was running the grill today: outstanding job. You absolutely nailed it. I'll be thinking about that sandwich for a long time.

We each ordered a filet mignon with a side plate. I ordered the chicken noodle soup for starters. It was delicious. I was off to a good start. However, my companions all ordered salads with blue cheese dressing. They each reported the salad was wilted and the dressing was terrible. Then the main course came with our sides, a little pot of salsa and a little pot of beans. The filets were very tender, it not well seasoned. Baked potatoes were fine, but the mixed veggies were tasteless. There may have been some kind of bread, but I don't remember. Service was fine. But waitress really made out. She didn't mention that the tip was already included in the bill. She readily accepted a substantial tip in addition to what was already on the bill. Bad food. Rip off spot!
