What happened to productive employees nowadays! Came in last night. Ordered through Kisok. Tried to look for a descent table to sit at. But all the tables were dirty and needed wipe down. We requested a wet towel from the counter person. She said she'd be right out. Came out and wiped our table. Didn't dare bother to wipe the other 7 tables that needed cleaning. At that time, was not busy with a 6 customers, and there must've been 10 employees behind the counter which included the gentlemen working hard prepping foods. First, let's get real. It's fast food, so we can't judge it through any other lens. That being stated, my experience was great. We went to KFC to get a lot of food to go for an impromptu family gathering. Walked in, the place was drab but not offensive. First, I felt sorry for the front counter girl busting her butt taking orders, getting drinks, while approx. 7 more people just stood around talking. Business itself was not that clean. They need to move out of the ghetto spot they are in. I came thru one door that said PULL and it was heavy for this 71 year old and if I hadn't walked fast, it would have gotten me in the back of my heels closing hard. On my frequent travels from Palm Springs to Carmel, I sometimes spend the night here. It was good to find a familiar place to eat. I found the place to be clean both outside and inside. The team members were friendly and cheerful. The food area was kept spotless. I generally have my favorites. Sometimes I go for the pot pie. I really like that crispy crust. And the veggies mixed with the chicken, in a heavenly gravy, make a great meal. Other times, I have tried the extra crispy chicken, along with the cole slaw and mashed potatos. KFC is my best fried chicken go to establishment. In 1978 I was stationed in FT Hood in Killeen TX and it had a Church's Chicken restaurant. The soldiers preferred Church's then KFC. I loved it because it had a unique taste. But I came back to the states and a Church's chicken could not be found so I stuck with KFC. Today the closest place for Church's is Bakersfield. I went there 5 years ago and it did not match the magic it had with Texas. So it's been almost a year since I've been to this location in Santa Maria, thank you Covid-19 and the times I wanted KFC the line was too big or you couldn't get KFC to pick up the phone line or it would switch you to a fax line, something KFC needs to address. But today I got connected, they asked my order, my name and what time to pick it up. I got to KFC and no line but lots of cars with people waiting and the associate asked what I wanted, I told her pickup and she rang me up gave me the receipt and let me know what my order number was and directed me outside, I waited less then a minute and voila, I got my order... That was the best unsuspecting covid-19 restaurant experience I had. The associates were great the food is always consistently good, they just have to work on the phone lines. Double Dip Debit Card Scam. This place double dipped a charge onto my debit card. When I went back the following day the manager said I needed to dispute with my bank card. He said they did not show a double charge. My bank states Visa does not allow a dispute for a charge under $25. So I paid double the price unknowningly. No gift card or anything was even offered by the manager. There is plenty of other choices besides KFC. They will not get another dollar from me, ever. Good Luck staying in business KFC. Does anyone have the number for the health department in Santa Maria? I personally don't expect much out of a fast food place but this one takes the cake. I was driving up to NorCal and decided KFC sounded good for a snack while on the road. I arrived about 7:45pm (over a hour before they closed) and they had already taken all the chicken out of the warmers and were starting to dismantle everything. All this with people still ordering and about 10 people eating in the dining portion of the restaurant. I ordered...even though the girl was more worried about talking to her friend behind her than taking my order. The food was decent, not piping hot but not the worst I have ever had. Here's what made me sick... A little after 8pm they started cleaning...they insisted on putting the chairs up on the half of the tables that no one was using (mind you its still a hour till they close) and started spraying the tables and chairs down with some horrible solution that smelled like a combo of cleaner and bleach. After a few minutes the whole place smelled of the stuff and I couldn't stand to be in there anymore. I went to was my hands in the bathroom and they had sprayed that same cleaner crap in the bathroom all over the toilet, mirror and even the sink. Mind you the bathroom was filthy with trash everywhere. You think if they wanted to start cleaning they could have started by cleaning up the trash. I was lucky I didn't get sick from the whole experience. There is no way I would ever go back to this establishment. read more

Many people complain about slow service but they need to understand that at this time it's hard for many employers to find more staff. My family goes to Buffalo often and the service is always great. we have had Andrea and dejah serve us and they are amazing!!!! Super friendly!!! A job in serving can be stressful especially when you have multiple tables, different personalities and these girls always stay collective. This is not a review of the food, but of the service received. My family ordered some chicken tenders and chicken littles which are made with tenders. When we started to eat they seemed very different than past meals from the same location and we didn't like and couldn't eat the tenders. I returned the uneaten meal to the restaurant and Jennifer the manager took great care of the situation by making a substitution, cooking it fresh herself, and offering a beverage while I waited. I wish I would of read the reviews before ordering. This was by far and away the worse place I could of picked. It tasted nothing like what you'd expect from a well run kfc. They messed up my order and the restaurant was in horrible shape. This place is a joke. I usually try to find the best in every place I visit before I blast my opinion but this place is so bad it needs to be said. Poor neglectful owners equals poor management equals poor employees. That's your problem here... it all starts from the top. Fix the top problem and everything else falls into place. If a location had bad customer service then I can just count that out on my list but this goes beyond this. Confusing menu leads to more questions and even more pissed off cashiers who probably answer the same thing over and over which explains their disgust in their job. Don't even dare asking what the difference of their individual meals and classic meals include. The food was luke warm and I can bet it dropped way below the safe holding temperature before it reached my plate. And to top it all off I got to watch the manager play party cake with the staff and talk about their personal hygiene while I enjoyed my disgusting meal.
