Ate dinner there for the first time last night and the ambience itself was great! However, there was only one table in the place so I kindly asked if they were still serving. Being in the industry for over 20 years, to my surprise the bartender said "let me ask the kitchen, we close in 45 minutes.!' 45 minutes to close shouldn't even be a question to ask the kitchen. Then she came out and said they were still serving and takes off. So we are looking for a place to sit and she says' you can't sit there, there are no servers.' Ok so maybe you should have sat us after you told us you were still serving 45 minutes to close. The service just progressed to get worse. The food itself was pretty good but the portions were ridiculously small. Only one side with main dish and my date ordered the duck and got literally 4 small bite size pieces of meat, $32. My halibut was also very skimpy and the Brussels sprouts were burnt, $38. Not once did the server even come back to ask how the food was or I would have had her get me a different side. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food. The food itself was good, minus burnt Brussels sprouts but it's a good thing we got an appetizer too or we would have still been hungry. The server is lucky my date left 20 because I said to leave 10 and I don't even know if that was deserved. I am in the industry and we always overtip but not in this case when it's more than obvious the server doesn't even want to be there. So all in all it was not a good experience. Out of all the restaurants in Williston this is our favorite by far. The staff is always super friendly. They serve excellent cocktails. If you get a chance to go they serve an amazing filet mignon and there burgers are the best! I recommend the chicken and rice soup and don't forget the crème brûlée for desert. You won't be disappointed. They also have live music on Friday nights which is pretty cool. read more

** I must first preface this review by saying that I'm rating this restaurant by Bakken oil field standards - NOT by big city standards! Anyone who's been to this area of the country or lives here knows what I'm talking about. ** Alright, so if I had an important business dinner, hot date, or found myself missing the more refined foods I've enjoyed while living in bigger cities, this would probably be the place I'd come. It's arguably the nicest restaurant in the Bakken (at least in the Williston/Watford City areas). Housed in a restored old Elk's Lodge, Eleven Restaurant & Lounge boasts white table cloths, dim/moody lighting, an attentive yet aloof black-clad waitstaff reminiscent of the struggling actor/waiters of Los Angeles, and an extensive yet meat-heavy menu. If you come here for dinner, your wallet will be significantly lighter when you leave as they charge an arm, leg, and first born child for relatively small amounts of food. My hubby was gunning to order a small steak for $50...that is until he found out that this steak came by itself - no side salad, no soup, no sides even - just a small piece of steak chillin' alone on a plate. The waiter asked him if he'd liked to purchase a side dish. Really?! It's not like we're in Beverly Hills. Instead, he ended up ordering the smoked rabbit - which was a horror story in itself (see photo if you dare). The rabbit, which looked like a small whale tail, came out tasting like jerky - good but tough and hard to eat (or watch it being eaten - ick!). I think we will both have nightmares about that dish for years to come. As for me, I've ordered a delicious cheese plate, some decent baked brie, some alright cheese ravioli, and some passable creme brûlées. Nothing has ever been really amazing but nothing (except that frightening smoked rabbit) has been horrible. Overall, Eleven is probably the best restaurant I've eaten at up here aside from some of the little culinary gems in Bismarck. Yet, I just can't bring myself to give it a full five stars due to the exorbitant pricing, small portions, and average food quality. read more

I've had the 14oz bison rib eye, 14oz beef rib eye, the burger, shrimp cocktail and mussels. I wouldn't order the mussels again. People I've dined with have had the 8oz filet, Caesar salad, shrimp tortellini, caprese and the 12oz strip. That's 10 of the 22 or so items on the menue along with having dined there over 8 times I say gives me good grounds for a fair and accurate review. Everyone has enjoyed their meals. ME I prefer the loaded baked potato and any of the veggies both are prepared equally above average and veggies are al dente and seasoned perfectly. Management is reasonable and accommodating if there is a faux pas, which happens... Mostly all around great service, I prefer the the bar area or tables in that area. The dining room is usually packed during dinner and long after which slows service a bit, not bad service mind you just a little slower. I guess thats the trade off when dinning at what seems to have the best kitchen in town. Yup, I've eaten everywhere in town over the last few months here are my parting thoughts... I give it one star because the service was good; maybe only because there was no one there but anyway it was good. I also give it one star because the Cesar salad was so good ! That is about the only thing. The sprite that I had tasted funny, like it was filtered through cardboard paper it was really weird ! I also ordered the Cajun Chicken pasta which was awful . Nothing satisfied my taste. Food had no seasoning. The sauce was thick and not creamy at all! They didn't give me fettuccine noodles with my Cajun chicken Alfredo. Wow I had the osso bucco tonight and it was so good!!! I also had the tuna tartar and omg I wish I could've had 2 or 3 of those it was so good! My one complaint is the restaurant itself is dated and needs a lift but not horrible. Maybe better presentation with drink as well. read more

My wife and I went there for our 25th wedding anniversary yesterday. Service was excellent the hostess was a little rude it was made up for by our awesome waiter. I ordered the buffalo ribeye which was done perfectly the risotto was awesome my wife ordered the duck which was OK had way too many mushrooms and no mention of mushrooms on the menu disappointed with that. She also thought the risotto was awesome we had a bottle of wine with our meal they were not very helpful with wine selection as the server did not have enough knowledge in that department. Overall a great experience though that's why I'm giving it for just needs to have more education and a little more clarity on the menu. read more

Have only been to Williston once but after spending the day here I quickly realized good food is hard to come by and it isn't cheap when you do. Very happy to have come across this restaurant. Sat in the bar and had a glass of wine and dinner. Had a Pinot Noir I wasn't thrilled with but I drank it. Ordered a different one that was much better. Come to find out I wasn't charged for the one I didn't like -probably just because of the observant server. Nice bonus. Had a side salad before having lobster ravioli and the salad was good -nothing special but was only $3. Don't know if I missed that price on the menu but the waitress pointed out the less expensive salad. The ravioli was very dense and rich -the way it should be. Overall I would recommend and will definitely be back Downside: high prices. read more

Well, we went back for dinner and the food wasn't as good as their lunch, but it was still good. I do feel for what you get it is overpriced. My husband and I easily spent over $100 and looking back I don't think it was worth what we paid. He ordered the steak which was cooked correctly and was good, however it was no better than a steak from Walt's that we make at home. I ordered stuffed swordfish which was also good but again, it was something that I think I could have made at home for less. We did order the cheese board as an appetizer though and that was absolutely fantastic! I went back for lunch again though and they have shut down their lunch service. Went here for my birthday on new year's eve. Was pretty busy but our food came out fast. My little 8 oz. Steak was 50 some dollars but was really juicy and cut it with a butter knife. Delicious asparagus. And garlic potatoes. Got the clams too. Nothing real special about them. I love my clams. Just a real basic white sauce on it...could have had a lot more flavoring. Got a free b day drink..that was nice. All In all pretty good...but was kind of expecting more from the "fanciest" restaurant in Williston. read more

Not worth the price tag for one. I ordered the saffron chicken. And I basically got a chicken fried steak without the gravy. It was burned in sections and the chicken was overcooked. The seafood chowder was a mistake... Do you see any bodies of water around here. And the ala carte sides are 7-10 bucks for such small portions. If you go here get the steaks only... Just like every other place in willington. It seems to be the only thing that they know how to cook well. read more

The best fine dining in town hands down. Some unique options for dinner entrees and a great selection for appetizers and bar menu. Expensive, but not really relative to the rest of the town and quality of food. I recommend trying whatever the chef is currently experimenting on with the smoker. read more

Beautiful place! Staff was great. We opted to dine in the bar area being there was just two of us. Service was extremely slow. Don't go hungry. It took over an hour after placing our order to get the appetizer. Then we waited another hour for our meals to finally come, which came out cold. Pot roast and mash potatoes are not good cold. Best steak we've had in a long time and we just moved from Texas! We ordered salad, filet with asparagus and mushrooms and sirloin Oscar. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. "The Williston" - this place has been getting better and better every time I go! I have been in town now for about 6 months and enjoy heading down to this place almost weekly! This may not be the cheapest place in town, but that's why I like it. You don't ever worry about who is in the bar, where you are in the area of town, and how you will be treated. They have done a great job getting the right people to work here that WANT to take care of you. Good luck going anywhere in town and getting anything close to good service..... I was really disappointed, being the only fine dining restaurant in Williston and after having read some reviews I was excited and thought it would be good. The service wasn't great. The waitress was barely around (the only plus I will give her is that she took my drink off the bill since she noticed I didn't drink it) But the hostess wasn't really friendly. We were seated and were brought water. I ordered a raspberry daiquiri, it came about 10 mins after we order our food, which was about 15 mins after we had been seated. The daiquiri was terrible it literally tasted like crushed up ice. No alcohol flavor, no raspberry, nothing. So I sent it back and tried a blueberry mojito, that again had no flavor! It tasted like water with a tiny hint of alcohol and maybe some mint. They were out of the appetizer we ordered and several other things on the menu, so we both ordered the butchers fork. Oh and about 10 mins after my drink came out they brought out some break sticks for us too. The roast was alright. Definitely not what I expected for the Restaurant but it wasn't terrible. The mashed potatoes under it were over seasoned and over powering so I just ate the meat. We will not be returning. read more

Absolutely the best dining in Williston. For being a "classier" restaurant, the prices of their pastas, burgers, etc are comparable if not cheaper than the Williston Brewing Company... plus much better, in my opinion. The fact that they offer a FREE entree on your birthday also blows my mind because you can order a $37 bison ribeye (should you choose to) and it's literally free. Giving 4/5 stars because: a few times the service has been slow when the restaurant isn't *that* busy; my boyfriend ordered a medium rare filet once that was very over cooked (I'm talking well done), and when shown to the manager she replied "looks fine to me" and walked off; the same manager is overall quite unfriendly & off putting/unwelcoming as she is typically acting as the hostess. Still, the food has been dynamite every time (minus that filet) and the service is usually good (especially if you sit in the bar area or directly at the bar). read more

Very disappointed. Food is overpriced and very poorly displayed. The server offer soup or salad with our meal, then charged us for soup. When I asked about it she said it wasnt included in our entrees. Should have told us before giving the option. My wifes plate had fish, white rice, and one lemon slice. That's its. Seriously? For Willston the environment is nice; I was impressed when I walked through the doors. The menu is typical for a small-town restaurant, nothing special, very limited. The drink menu is extensive, but by no means impressive. When I see a beer list with 30+ selections, I expect to see a very wide variety of styles; however, the beers were all very similar styles (all light, few IPAs, no OPAs, few ales). I ordered the salmon (which was dry and had an awful tasting glaze) I asked the server if the chef would prepare me a new salmon without glaze. When I go out and spend $75 on food and drink I expect to be satisfied with quality. The server came back and said they were out of salmon!! A lie I'm sure; we were one of four tables in the restaurant, besides good restaurants to "run out" of main dishes! The lobster was over-steamed and chewy. The creamed corn was good. I would rate it with one star considering the prices, but I liked the ambiance and our server was attentive and sweet. I would take Applebee's over this place ANY DAY (for price and quality). I have been fortunate enough to have eaten @ "The Eleven" a few times. The food is fabulous. Weather it be steak, fish or burgers. Presentation has been beautiful and cooked to perfection. Oh did I mention the flavor. They also do a wonderful job with their buffets for special days. The staff is always friendly and attentive. And I love the Margaritas!! Best restaurant I've been to in ND so far. Everything we ordered was amazing. Service is great. Drinks are fantastic. It's a bit pricey, but worth every single penny. Our food was brought out in a reasonable time. Our server was consistent. Even typical drinks tasted better than usual here. The food is amazing. We had a great waitress, and a great experience. People outside of Williston may not understand how important that is here, but service in this town usually stinks, and so does the food. It was really busy though, and we had to wait 45 min to get our food, but our waitress told us that upfront so it was expected, and we ordered appetizers.
