Drove from Sidney Montana for the day to shop in Williston. Decided we were in the mood for a burger and Doc's was recommended to us. It is a seat yourself. With great decor and lots to read and look at and free pool tables in the bar area the wait for food was entertaining at least. Our wait staff was very friendly and attentive. They serve Coke products- my favorite! Very spacious inside with mix of boothes and tables. Large tables to sit a big party too. The bar area is very large with tables in that area. Now the food! It was so good. I got the special which was a prime rib burger with fries- $18.95. It was delightful. So good. The creamy horseradish was excellent too. My husband got the corral burger which was excellent as well-$16.95. Granted lunch was pricey but worth it. Food is not cheap in this part of the country and for quality you pay higher prices. I would recommend the restaurant for ambience and decor and quality food! The nachos looked amazing and lots of people ordered the fish tacos. I would visit again if traveling back through Williston. Great fun roadhouse cowboy vibe and decor. Waitress was friendly. Food was really fast but I would have expected that on a Tuesday afternoon. I don't know how to describe it other than a more interesting and fun Texas Roadhouse vibe The exterior has a lot of unique and rustic decor. Definitely a five for ambience and although it was our first visit, a five star service review. Not sure the young lady's name, but she was definitely on top of everything. I saw in some earlier reviews comments about high prices. Holy cow, nothing was overpriced. Maybe for Williston, North Dakota but as I'm not a local, I can't speak to that. I thought everything was very reasonable. My wife ordered a chicken salad and it looked to be pretty well overdressed and I guess the dressing was just a little too sweet for her liking. I ordered a patty melt, and although it was tasty, I wish it had more cheese and the customary mustard and pickle relish. But it still was pretty good. From the road... everything grabs your attention with all the metal Buffalo, bull riders statues. Inside, the place is filled with eclectic decor from a gorgeous motorcycle on display to hats hanging from the ceiling. Your eyes go everywhere just to keep up with all the funny signs & memorabilia. Fun stuff !! We sat at the bar, as usual, and Jay greeted us with a warm smile and HELLO. Ordered our drinks and read the menu....... a lot from which to choose, that's for sure. My husband ordered the open faced meatloaf sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. A very large portion that was moist and full of flavor. I ordered the pulled pork appetizer roll ups. Nostalgic...like walking into the coolest saloon in the Wild West (minus the gunfight). The ambiance is as deliciously distracting as the food! Memorabilia galore...love the "Indian Harley" above the bar! Fabulous appetizers. No fave to recommend--pick your pleasure. We came in on a beautiful Thursday night and sat outside on the patio. They have a nice back patio and fireplace, and a grassy area for the kiddos to run around in. You cant miss this place driving by as it has tons of metal bison and Indian statues out front. It was seat yourself and it was busy. You might have to wait which can be awkward when it's seat yourself. Like should we hover by this table until they leave? Then you need the table wiped down. Then you gotta wait for someone to bring the menus. We waited awhile until our server even acknowledged us. He was clearly really busy and working his butt off. He was very sweet but service was slow so I can only blame management on that. I enjoyed the variety on the menu. I tried the whiskey chicken which was under the main dish section. I enjoyed that it came with two side options. I was super disappointed in the taste of everything though! The chicken was topped with mushrooms and the house made whiskey brown gravy. It literally just tasted like a beef gravy. Absolutely no whiskey flavor. The mushrooms didn't compliment this dish at all. The baked potato tasted weird. It was all just wrong and all for $20!!? That's just wrong to price this dish that high. The burger my mom got was just okay. They never asked how she wanted it cooked which is never a good sign. And $16 for a burger? Yikes. The prices here seemed jacked up while the quality of the food doesn't match the prices. The only thing I liked was the huckleberry mule. read more

Love this place! My steak was done perfect-just as requested. The corn casserole side dish was unexpectedly delicious with maple butter. It tasted almost more like a dessert than a side dish. The reviews for this restaurant previously almost had me not even wanting to give this restaurant a chance. But as soon as my hubby and I walked into this awesomely decorated restaurant we were greeted with friendly faces. Our waitress was smiling and engaging. Offering up her personal Thursday special cocktail as a suggestion definitely worth trying (Crazy Jade). My husband and I tried two different appetizers they are filling on their own very tasty. The tomatillo dip with the fracking chicken had a nice kick to it and the redneck egg rolls had a great combination inside a fried egg roll shell. I could not finish the egg rolls so guess what I'm having for lunch. My husband had the Southwest Turkey Burger bunless sorry no picture because he dug into it before I could but he said it had really great flavor. I requested the Whiskey Chicken with two sides garlic mash potatoes and their seasoned veggies snow peas. Lovely combination and what made me happy was I could use my fork to cut the chicken with ease. For dessert I saw on the menu a Brownie served with ice cream drizzled with a chocolate cherry sauce. I'm like that sounds easy to eat heck no it was a huge brownie with a heaping scoop of ice cream served with huge spoons to try and eat this mammoth. There was two of us to eat it but we could have used some help. This place was a little different than I thought it was gonna be, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. We were in town doing some work, and had an absolutely terrible dining experience the evening before coming here over at the Williston Brewery. Doc's was a great, fun atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly, outgoing, and fun to interact with. They all seemed to have great senses of humor, and enjoyed being there. We had quite a few things off the menu, and they were all pretty delicious. The Williston Water is a pretty delicious drink to order while you're hanging out and chit chatting with company. I love the decor in here. A lot of places kind of look alike - I like the red lights and the big booths and the AWESOME old motorcycle and the piano. Our waitresses were really friendly. The flat-iron steak salad was on point. Cooked medium as requested; juicy and flavorful. Just the right amount of dressing and fresh veggies. Very satisfying. Shared this with P. P ordered and shared with me the Reuben burger. Fries were deliciously crispy and soft on the inside. Bun was fresh, soft and evenly toasted. The meat for this was also fantastic and seemed fresh and of higher quality. The waitstaff was fantastic. Be warned: they play nonstop country music. I found some stereotypical gender referencing in the decor that easily comes across as sexist. Not naturally my place of choice... we were brought by my in-laws. Update: My original review is still pretty accurate as far as food goes. A friend of ours started to serve/bartend here so we've continued to go. For one thing, thank GOD they've started serving vegetable sides other than snap peas lol they've had a few specials that are decent and more fairly priced. Fries are still generally cold unless you request fresh fries. When they are fresh, they're delicious. The servers who sucked in the past must have quit because everyone who was good before is still there and any new faces aren't rude ones. Positive changes have been made at least! Hope you like snap peas. I don't really know why we've continued to give this place a shot. Service kind of always sucks (e.g. hassled for IDs before being even greeted; not given menus; not given silverware; after asking for silverware, given one set and told "there's two forks in there, I don't know if you need more than that"; clearly being rushed to cash out midway through eating dinner because the server had been cut). The bartender and a few servers ARE good, though. However, the ratio of good compared to bad is about 3 employees out of 10+. As far as the food, it's not anything to get too excited over. I don't know why, but the fries are ALWAYS cold. The new menu has a few more salads which I appreciate, but I wish they kept more entrees instead of loading up on sandwiches, fried foods, and burgers. The cost vs quality of food & service just doesn't make it worth coming back. read more

Upsetting with my waitress! Checked my ID and didn't believe me on my age for when I had asked for a drink. Waited 10 minutes as she took my ID to check to see if I was legal age still did not believe me handed my ID back as she was so focused on my ID and wrong on her accusations towards my Real ID she had us wait another 10 minutes to order! The food was good but the training for there ID checking I am not impressed especially being a certified bartender myself I was not okay with how the accusations had took place. They really should look into scanners since there ID reading capabilities don't justify!! read more

This place is ok. Hubby ordered that cajun shrimp and walleye. They forgot the shrimp. Although it was pretty good for $22 all he got was a filet of fish and when they finally brought them, 4 shrimp. My ribeye steak was good however their idea of "sautéed, seasonal vegetable" were green beans with kidney beans. I'm from California so that was NOT sautéed veggies. I would suggest pick another side. I also got the corn cake which was very good. Service was pretty good but we felt rushed as they started mopping 45 mins before closing and gave us the impression that we were a bother. read more

I had such a great date night at Docs yesterday! My bf and I went in for a Bloody Mary and dinner and to my surprise there was a sign when I walked in saying "Saturday Shenanigans" Bloody Mary's and Mimosas! Omg I was so excited!!! We got served lemon water right away and our waiter got our drink order within the first few min! My bloody was literal perfection with three olives my favorite. I ordered the Prime Rib Dip and my bf ordered tve Mac and cheese burger. My sandwich was DELISHHHHHH. Everything came out right away and the garlic mashed potatoes and gravy was soooo yummy tooo!!!
