701 Chophouse has absolutely delicious food, and the waitstaff has always been friendly and attentive. The food quality and overall dining experience are why I continue coming back. That said, the hostess experience has consistently been the weak point for me. On my most recent visit, there were open seats in the bar area and I politely requested to sit there because it felt warmer and more intimate for our group. The request was denied in a way that came across unnecessarily dismissive and unfriendly, which unfortunately set the tone for the evening. I also think the restaurant could improve how the back dining room is managed during colder months. That area tends to be very cold when it first opens in the evening, and guests are often seated there before the room has had time to warm up. It would make a big difference if the area was opened and heated before seating guests, since most people naturally prefer to sit somewhere warm when it's freezing outside. Unfortunately, when customers ask to move to a warmer area, it can feel like the request is treated more as an annoyance than an effort to make guests comfortable. At a restaurant of this caliber, hospitality starts at the front door. The food and servers are excellent, but the front-of-house experience could definitely use improvement. read more

This steakhouse was a lovely experience. The staff was exceptional, the ambiance was delightful, and the food was tasty The exterior is inviting and modern looking. The interior is chic and has wild game decor nicely peppered throughout the space. Dined here while visiting family. We couldn't get reservations (7 of us and they only take reservations for groups of 8) so we ended up waiting about 20 minutes for a table. Loud environment so it was difficult to visit with everyone at the table. Hubby and I started with Lemon Drop Martinis and they were way too sweet - would not recommend. I had the blackened walleye and it was delicious. Hubby had Chicken Parmesan and enjoyed that as well. We ordered a bottle of Caymus wine (The Walking Fool) and the bartender came to our table with a different wine saying they were out of the Caymus. This wine wasn't on the wine list but he ensured us it was the same price point. It was odd. It tasted fine but in hindsight I wish we would have asked to see the list again and ordered for ourselves. We got the chocolate cake for dessert and it could easily be split between 3-4 people-quite tasty! What made the evening special was Kali, our server! She was very attentive, patient with our indecisive group, gave great recommendations and had a lovely sense of humor. She was wonderful!! read more

The primerib was barely warm, the steaks was super thin for ribeye. The lobster warm but the butter got cold fast as there was no warmer. The kids liked their spaghetti and the pork steak was very good and hot they stated. Our waitress was ok. First and foremost as a chophouse you need to be able to cook a steak. Ordered a steak medium rare, came out well done, they took it back and tried again, still came out well done. Bartenders are amazing and attentive, but really bad steakhouse that can't even fire a steak properly. Will not return. read more

Second visit and was just as disappointed as the first visit. Was not told about the additional fee for six persons or greater when the reservation was made or upon arrival which is a stout 20%. For this stout 20% fee you are rewarded with uncomfortable bar chairs and three small tables grouped together. Had the same waiter that we had at two visits to Dabeno's Bistro, I believe he thinks that he is a good waiter, but he is slow to clear dishes, arrive with the check or really pay any attention. Ther were three other waitstaff in this part of the restaurant and only four tables were occupied. As mentioned in previous revies the kitchen staff is less than enlightened in cooking a steak, you would be better off going to the Broken Horn Butcher and then buying a George Foreman grill, it would save you time, money and patience. It takes an exceptionally long time for the food to arrive and as usual they are out of something that is on the menu, this time it was the asparagus, last time it was the blooming onion when turns out to be poorly prepared and bland. The TV that was over our head was on some endless cartoon scroll of a city scene which becomes quite repetitive after five minutes. It is an attractive building, and unfortunately, they cared so little about customer safety that they were unable to shovel the sidewalk in a two-hour period. I was excited to eat here but as some other reviews suggested the kitchen is not very experienced. Steaks were over cooked. Sides were good. My mother called was a steak salad however it was sliced grizzle and nearly inedible. Sadly we mentioned this to our server and she did nothing. But hard to expect much from her as she was never around to help much. Good ambiance at least. Long waits at every aspect of the experience. Went for early dinner at 4 pm 3 other cars in the parking lot Waited 10 minutes at hostess stand just to be seated Waited another ten minutes to place drink and appetizer order Finished appetizers before we were asked to place entree Had to ask for check and after receiving waited 15 minutes to pay until the manager finally came over. We sat in view of the bar the entire time and listened to the staff rambunctiously and obnoxiously trash talk and tell stories. The 701 Chophouse is new to the area. Had been open about 3 weeks I believe give or take. And as everyone else we were excited to experience a new restaurant as we all know, there are not many good ones in the area. First impression as you drive up to the restaurant is that it is very nice very well designed. As you walk into the building, it puts off the impression of fine dining a proper steakhouse for the area. We were excited to be sat and to experience the restaurant. The hostess was amazing. She walked us to a booth and suggested that we tried a blueberry croissant dessert and gave us other top recommendations. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye with asparagus as side salad and cornbread. My lady ordered the creamy coconut salmon. As an appetizer we had the blooming onion. Our waitress Cheyla B. was equally as excellent. She never let our drinks go dry, and every time we were done with utensils or plates, she was quick to remove them from the table, keeping everything spacious and clean. As for the meals. My steak was ordered, medium rare, and what I received was well done. The asparagus were cooked to perfection, and the salad was quite delicious. My steak was remade and brought out to me. The temperature was much better. as for my ladies, coconut cream salmon she enjoyed it very much and said everything was delicious. I do recommend trying this place out. I intend to go back and try again, but I would like to try something different on their diverse menu. read more

Had dinner for the first time at 701 Chophouse last night. Josh, our server, was friendly, attentive, and made excellent recommendations. My husband had the Filet Oscar served rare--It is now his (and my) 'favorite steak". I had the Elk Medallions (with coconut rice instead of the mashed potatoes) which was exceptionally good. It was my first time ever to this restaurant and it was not what I was expecting... the service was amazing our waiter was Joshua and he was just super friendly and felt welcoming. He was super helpful with navigating around the menu and directing us to different parts of the menu, as well as being super understanding when there was a problem but sadly the food portion was lackluster. We ordered the Blooming onion, NY strip and chicken Alfredo. The blooming onion was a little over cooked but nothing to complain about. The Chicken Alfredo was good besides the chicken, the chicken tasted bland and not seasoned at all, not even a pinch of salt. The rest of the pasta dish was good. Now the NY Strip was very underwhelming. I asked for medium rare, but the steak came out practically blue, so I sent it back to be cooked up and it was no problem for me I used to work in a kitchen I know sometimes mistakes happen. But when it came back it wasn't anymore cooked than the first time, so I asked to have it cooked again and the 2nd and final time it came out... it was absolutely wrecked. It was well done, beyond well done. I decided not not eat it or come back again... Beware if you get a child's meal and order Root beer they will charge you an extra 4.50 and not tell you.. extra ranch is .50 out of quite a few things on menu read more

Best bacon cheeseburger I've ever had. And that's no lie. The fish tacos were good too. Our waitress was great as well.
