All of above, great food great service, people you know will be there. A local place to still enjoy..

Very solid diner fair and excellent desserts. No, Michelin is not going to drive by and slap, some stars on the place but if you want classic American comfort food served quickly by nice people, this is your place. A good value as the portions are generous. read more

First time in Williston, ND- made a day trip from Montana. Was heading to Wal-Mart for a few items and saw Lonnie's. Decided to try it. What a great experience and treat. Very friendly staff. Ordered chicken fried steak which was great. Huge amount of food. The service staff was wonderful. They served coke and pepsi products!! Thank goodness for the diet coke. They even gave me a to go cup. My meal was tasty and flavorful. The ambiance was great. Great signs all over the wall were fun to look at while waiting. Creamers and jellies on the table. Husband ordered some type of chicken sandwich which was very good as well. He received fries with his meal. They were very good. Everything was great. Clean, family oriented. Lots of locals eating there. Will return next time I am visiting Williston! read more

Lonnie's Roadhouse - A Must-Stop in Williston, ND Whenever I'm in Williston, I make it a point to stop by Lonnie's Roadhouse. The moment you walk through the doors, you're welcomed with that classic small-town diner charm. The friendly crew of young ladies greet everyone with a warm "Hi!" and clearly know their regulars by heart. This time around, I was craving liver and onions, and Lonnie's delivered. Two perfectly cooked slices, tender, flavorful, and just the right balance between not too rare and not overdone. Served with hash browns, corn, and a warm roll, it made for the perfect comfort meal. Big thanks to Lonnie's for satisfying the craving with some seriously delicious liver and onions. If you're in town and craving a hearty, home-cooked meal, do yourself a favor and stop by Lonnie's. Highly recommended! . read more

Can you say a locals hang out!! They do take in a couple stays like myself. The wait staff if very good and the decor has some pretty funny stuff on the wall. I kept my order pretty simple. A Bacon Cheeseburger! Which is something I do not order very often because i fall for burgers with more flare. Unfortunately this burger was over cooked and dry! The bacon and the bun were great. Love my buns toasted!! I will be back to try other things. I am sure it was a hit and miss deal. I got the straw! And i hope to give more stars in future read more

This is your go-to if you're looking for a local diner experience. Incredible prices and huge specials. Love getting brunch and sipping on coffee refills for a slow morning. Also if you have kids, they have the best sand-toy-boxes that will keep the little ones entertained before (and after) the food comes out. read more

A local legend! Always crowded during peak times, serves standard American food. A major gathering spot for people so be aware some table grouping won't move for hours. There are booths for seating small parties. The do steaks right, which is impressive for a small restaurant similar to Denny's. The coffee is decent, they have a soda fountain as well. Waitresses are very very attentive. The sell dessert items as well, and are often sold out of rolls and pie. read more

Went there picked up chicken tortilla soup, great service as soon as I arrived and the soup was excellent. Prices affordable Can't go wrong at Lonnies. read more

This was a neat breakfast find on my road trip through North Dakota. Walked right in to a full house, but a table opened up almost immediately. The turnover was constant throughout the meal, and no one had to wait long for a table. Jazlyn met us at the table and took our drink orders and then came back for our food orders. I was interested in the both the Breakfast Skillet and the Haystack, so I asked if I could combine them. She told me I absolutely could, so I ended up with a half biscuit and gravy covered with the toppings from the skillet. It turned out perfectly! The portions here are very generous, and you shouldn't leave hungry. The interior is decorated with witty signs that were fun to read over breakfast, and if you are a people watcher, there was a very eclectic mix of people gathered together for breakfast. Excellent food and outstanding service made for a great breakfast experience! read more

Lonnie's Roadhouse Cafe - My own creation...the Haystack Skillet. Half biscuit and gravy underneath the ham, bacon, sausage, onion, and scrambled eggs. Delicious!!! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Williston, North Dakota

Great food and amazing service! The waitresses are loud and proud of it! Everything on the menu is good!

Whenever we pass Lonnie's Roadhouse Cafe, whatever the time of day, there are cars in the parking lot. With an endorsement like that... We especially recommend breakfast at Lonnie's. That's when you'll find the place packed with local farmers and ranchers. They'll greet you with a smile and a nod when you come through the door. This place is fun! It's decorated with art and signs and old time advertising from all over the place. On the menu you'll find the standard fare: bacon and eggs, omelettes, hash browns, pancakes and so forth. Everything we ordered was piping hot and tasty. Try the French Toast at Lonnie's - it's in a class by itself! The coffee is very good too. In short: Good Food - Friendly Service - Reasonable Prices - Fun Atmosphere If we lived in Minot, we'd be regulars! DON'T MISS LONNIE'S ROADHOUSE CAFE!! read more

I've been eyeing this place since my husband and I came to Williston for a temporary job. The parking lot always seems packed. There's a reason they have a great friendly atmosphere and the food is really good. Don't let the parking lot fool you they have room inside. I never had to ask for more coffee because they do regular fly bys to keep your cup topped. I had a plate size pancake with a side of three link sausages it was suppose to be Pigs in a Blanket but I requested it deconstructed. Sorry no photo cause I was hungry. My husband ordered the meat lovers omelette which he proudly could not finish I must admit we could have shared it. The ladies that work here have the best sense of humor pay at the register just tell them your table number. They have pie displayed there as well as huge caramel covered cinnamon rolls. read more

Of u look at past reviews i was a BIG FAN of this place but now i have went in 2 more times and sat there watching others that walked in up to 5 mins AFTER ME get all the orders and drinks way ahead of me? I don't understand their structure? I sat there tonight for almost 10 minutes and 4 tables got waited on and they never even asked me what I'd like to drink? Yes tables are nearly full but how is it ALL 4 waitresses just keep walking by my table? So yes food is great however the service is HORRIBLE the last 2 times I have went. I just left and am currently headed to McDonald's for BAD FOOD but great service! read more

Service is excellent, food is always Great. I highly recommend Lonnie's. I like there smothered French fries.

Food was decent not as good as I remember service was terrible was ignored or had things slammed down as they walked by would not stop to listen then they proceeded to go and stand a talk ignored most of the restaurant I'll not be going back there ! Floor and table items were filthy read more

Pretty good food, the waitresses are always nice. Prices have went up significantly in the last few years though.

The food was very good and well seasoned. Personal and friendly service. Reasonably priced.

The food was good. The service was great even though the restaurant was full. My food came out quick Also.

Food was excellent , enjoyed the meal very much. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend this place for a quick meal.

First i want to say, been going to lonnies for years, i understand when it gets busy that sometimes it takes a bit for refills on drinks. But when a customer watches the waitress walk by numerous times and ignore the table for drinks ( as in what happened again tonight) it becomes a problem. Now, i understand that some people have a problem with a picky customer. Here is my thought ( AND WAS TAUGHT) NO MATTER what your customer/customers should always have a drink. And the customer should NOT be warned that the waitress can refuse service because the customer wants the food prepared a certain way. SORRY TO HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM TO THE STAFF. I HAVE SPENT AT ANY GIVING TIME, 50.00 TO 80.00 in this restaurant. And always left a tip of 8.00 or more. But tonight ....was just ridiculous.. Thank you... probably wont go back for a long time. read more

I was staying at a nearby hotel for a week while passing through Williston. When I slept through the hotel breakfast, I asked the hotel staff where I might be able to get a good breakfast nearby. Immediately, the woman behind the desk recommended Lonnie's, so I went right over. I loved it! It was friendly, extremely reasonably priced, with good solid food and nice portions. I went back again later in the week because it was such good, comforting diner food. It was packed every time I stepped in; clearly a local favorite. Highly recommend for a delicious diner meal! read more

Cute little place. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Good coffee!. The food is ok. My pancakes were over cooked. The gravy is from a packet which is disappointing since it's not hard to make fresh gravy. The food isn't bad just doesn't taste fresh. read more

Typical truck driver style cafe. I was told that this place was pretty good and it was one of the last places I hadn't been in to eat. So I took myself here for breakfast and soon as I walked in the door, it was mostly men staring at me making me feel uncomfortable, but the fellas got over it and went back to their business. I asked if I seat myself. They didn't have a cafe bar to sit at or single seating anywhere, so I had to sit at a table set up for 4. Took a while to get my table cleaned up from the folks before me and the service was very slow. I ordered an 3 egg omlette. It came with toast and hashbrowns. Once again the hashbrowns were your generic shredded potato that seemed to be the theme here in every bfast establishment. It doesn't take much to buy fresh potatoes and dice, shred or slice them for really down-home home fries and maybe add a little spinach, garlic, rosemary and sea salt to make it awesome. It can't be much more money to provide something that would make a world of difference. Again this is an opinion from someone who travels everywhere and has a lot to compare it with. It just surprises me how people rave about something that I think is poor quality. I'm thinking these folks don't get out much. There are odd postings all over the walls and ceilings that I suppose are to make this place have some atmosphere, but it actually made the place feel dirty. Sometimes less is better. It was overwhelming and actually kind of ugly. I posted some pics of it. The price was what you would expect at a cafe. The only thing that was okay was the eggs but for any taste, you will need to add a dash of salt, pepper and maybe some hot sauce. Don't expect the servers to drop you the check. You get up to the cashier, tell them which table you sat at, and they somehow figure out what you ate. On a rainy day the parking lot would be mud and gravel so don't wear your high heels. Save that for the big city. you will be surrounded by big trucks so be careful in the parking lot. The cafe is attached to the gas station next to the main road leading into Wal Mart. Adios Lonnies! If I ever see you again, it will be too soon. read more

Great place for breakfast! I have eaten here twice and both times the food was tasty and cooked perfectly. The waitresses are extremely nice and attentive. They never let my coffee get cold! When we walked in it was pretty busy, good sign. My dad got up and helped himself to coffee, creamer and menus. I was bummed to see that knoephla soup was being served the next day. We perused the menus and everyone found something they liked. While waiting for our food we read the funny signage around the restaurant. The food was unanimously good! Good burgers, chicken tenders, kick arse honey mustard, tasty fries, and the pie was FAIR. The sense of community was better. While waiting for the food we conversated with locals we knew who also came in for lunch. We went back a couple times that week because it is one of my father's go-to places. Check it out. It shouldn't disappoint. read more

Don't come here if you're looking for glitz and glamour service...Come here for consistently good food and good service on a cafe level. Prices are great for a boomtown location right beside Wal-Mart. The dining room stays packed and it's obvious why. Don't let the signs scare you, they're just decoration even though there's quite a few. This is my go-to eatery while I'm in town. Cheers! read more

Had a meal last night here, got the chicken fried steak and my wife got the hamburger and fries. My corn had a freezer taste, mash potatoes were instant from a box, gravy tasted like from a powder mix. My wife's burger was dry meat, dry buns with a few pickles. Fries were the cheap crinkle cut ones. Bath room was dirty and had no paper towels to dry my hands. Just not worth going back. read more

After a 30 minute wait in what was an uncomfortably small area (they have no waiting area, just standing by the door awkwardly), we finally got to sit down. This is a seat yourself restaurant so it's a bit of a situation trying to determine who got there before you, who's turn it is, on and on. Finally sat down, ordered our food and then waited. And waited. And waited. I ordered an omelette whilst my boyfriend ordered a skillet. When the food FINALLY came (45 minutes) it was cold. THEN, as my boyfriend was eating his breakfast, he found a hair. A long black hair. And then breakfast was done for us. We were not charged for our meal but they seemed a bit perturbed, inconvenienced even by this discovery. Needless to say, we have crossed this joint off of the very small list of breakfast places to dine at. read more

The staff was very friendly. We were passing through town late and wanted to eat a hot meal, so we stopped here about 40 minutes before closing time. I got walleye which was good, and so we're my cheese sticks. The fries with all meals were soggy, the corn dogs were too crispy, the mac and cheese was old (the kids ordered those), so the kids didn't want to eat their food so it was a waste. Hubby's burger wasn't good either. Total came out to $40 and we drank water. Overall, not great, except for the wait staff. read more

I have been here multiple times since moving to Williston. Usually this place is amazing both the food and service. However the other day the food was less than par. I ordered the philly and the husband ordered the hot beef sandwich. I asked for my bun to be toasted as I know a Philly can soak the bread. The food came out and the sandwich was a soggy mess that lacked taste or any sort of decent flavor. The meat was more like a high school lunch buffet meat and the fries were undercooked. As I know this place is rather busy most days and the service is usually great I didn't complain. My husband was dying for a slice of pie and when we asked about it, the waitress said "the lady didn't bake today" Probably the worst dining experience I've had here read more
