He is an excellent communicator and made sure that he understood all of our requirements, wants and desires. He also contacted us at least daily with the plans for the day and beyond. His group of subcontractors--plumber, electrician, tiler, painter, etc.- are first rate! Mike and the team at Elevation 92 just wrapped up a large home renovation for me. The renovation involved all new flooring throughout the entire house, all new paint, a redesigned fireplace, redesigned stairway, a down to the studs kitchen remodel (which included a La Cantina pass through window to the backyard), removal of one wall, and a powder room remodel. We remodeled this house from out of town, so that added an extra level of complication. We were really happy with Mike and his team. He referred us to a designer, that we loved. He sourced and managed almost all of the trades that came through and they were excellent. This was our first home, and our first remodel. I have heard horror stories about remodels gone wrong, and we were so lucky to have found Elevation 92. The only minor headaches we had were supply chain related, and that can't be helped. 2 examples that I think show Mike's character and what it is like working with him: 1. There was a miscommunication over the automatic blinds that came with the house. We wanted to keep them, but some were misplaced or damaged during demo. When we raised this with Mike he immediately said he would cover the cost to repair or replace. I didn't have to ask, it was just a given that he would do this. I really appreciated this. 2. There was one small part of some touch up work that I was not 100% happy with. It was not up to the standard of the rest of his work (which was excellent). I expressed my concerns, and Mike had a different team come in and fix it. There were no denials or excuses, he just fixed it. We have additional work we will be doing on the house next year and we will definitely using Mike and his team. read more

12 stars out of 10. Mike and Elevation exceeded all expectations for our home remodel. Mike helped modernize our 1970s condo. From the beginning, Mike would say that 'we are partners in this job.' And for the entire remodel, we felt Mike was an experienced, skilled and honest partner that we could rely on. We were happy that Mike's team was timely and clean. But we were blown away by their attention to detail and proactive thinking. For example, the tiler explained how the way our kitchen backsplash ended, it was going to look awkward if he followed the plans exactly. He recommended wrapping around a side wall and adding a metal edge. This, as with other recommendations, turned out amazing. Time after time, we felt confident trusting Mike's judgment and recommended partners-- electricians, stairway railing, and more. Mike was always available when we had questions and always on top of the job. He was flexible when we made changes-- some decisions by us, some required due to shortcomings of our bathroom/appliance supplier. In the end, we are extremely pleased with the quality of work and found the bill reasonable and very well worth the job done. We were anxious to do because we had used a different contractor for a partial remodel a year before and the experience was a nightmare. Fortunately, everything about working with Elevation 92 was awesome! As a professional Interior Designer, it was a pleasure working with Mike New and his team on my project in Carlsbad. From his clearly written initial proposal to his attention to detail, I was very impressed overall. It was the supplier's fault and there was nothing we could do but wait for replacement items. He was very patient throughout even though the vendor caused a big delay to their team's schedule. He never got upset and made the best out of a difficult situation. No matter what the issue, he found a solution and was committed down to the last detail to make both the client and myself very happy. Addendum to Mike.... The project has gotten bigger as the competent contractor came to the house and found several problems that Mike had not seen as an ADU expert when he came ...the project has increased to remodeling the main garage along with the bootleg dwelling.... Also full remodel on the kitchen, if Mike considered my project small then he's not on his game as it involved quite a lot. Mediation is taking place now... the other contractors are not making a big deal of wait time..... and BTW.... I opted to pay $23,000 cash outright to redo the roof because of the excessive damage under the tile.....Money will be there no matter what..... and Job will be done no matter what.....he says he never did the work " in defense of the three stars". There's something called professionalism..... not victim...., moving on ... we're done... good luck Mike.....Just to clarify Mike's description as the Job estimate " scope of work " came out to be $50,000..... and there is no lawsuit as he described in his rebuttal to an earlier review.... We are mediating... but haven't started as yet because every day something pops up...,,, his tone when he was upset because I sent a few photos of what I had discovered along the way to give him heads up of more things that needed work ... he was so nice in the beginning, that if he had just communicated to me to not send more photos until we signed a contract... which he was never going to do anyway.. My recommendation is to have better communication skills and have a professional tone when texting...... It threw me for a loop at the end..... moving upwards, I found a great contractor that I like....and the company is quite reputable....,moving on .. chapter closed... lessons learned....!!!! read more
