My husband thoughtfully booked a couple's massage with Elements Massage months in advance to align with our one-year anniversary and as a much-needed break after a four hour road trip. It was meant to be a relaxing part of our celebration. When we arrived for our 2 PM appointment, we were informed that one of the massage therapists had been sent home sick. While we absolutely understand that health and safety come first, the way this was communicated to us felt abrupt and impersonal. The staff member who delivered the news was nonchalant, and while she repeated that it was about "our safety". Considering the context of our celebration and the planning that went into the appointment, the delivery felt dismissive rather than empathetic. We were then offered a facial and massage combo or to split the time with just one of us receiving a massage. That suggestion felt out of touch for a couple celebrating their anniversary. It made it clear there was little thought or care behind the service experience, despite my husband being in communication with the location well in advance. When we declined the facial offer, the front desk assistant kindly wrote down numbers for sister locations that might be able to fit us in. While we appreciated her effort, it would have been far more helpful and service-oriented if the team had called on our behalf, explained the situation, and tried to help us get rescheduled - especially since it was Mother's Day and last-minute availability was unlikely. I am giving two stars instead of one because the front desk assistant at least tried to help, which is more than we can say for her counterpart, and the space itself was clean. Otherwise, this was a very disappointing experience for such a meaningful day. read more

From the moment I walked into Elements Massage in Phoenix, the staff was extremely professional and welcoming. I was greeted by Barbara, who assisted me immediately--there was absolutely no wait time during check-in. Before my session started, Barbara greeted me warmly, was very polite, and asked if I needed to use the restroom or needed anything at all before beginning. That level of attentiveness really set the tone for the experience. I received a 60-minute massage, and the massage therapist was very professional. The session was relaxing, well-executed, and overall a great experience. Checkout was just as smooth. Barbara handled the checkout process efficiently, and I even purchased a gift card for a family member because the experience was that good. Overall, this was an excellent visit from start to finish. Having a knowledgeable, professional, and personable client services team member who is attentive, communicative, and truly knows what she's doing makes all the difference--and Elements Massage delivers exactly that. They say it's a 60 minute massage, but honestly, they gave us 45 minutes, and they also said 10 minutes that you're being charged for is so that you can get ready and prepared while you're undressing. That is part of the hour. They also charge us for a master masseuse, an additional $20. my masseuse fell asleep on me twice. I had to wake her up. Very sweet lady, very nice people that work there. But the bottom line is you're paying for a massage. I went to another massage parlor, and from the moment they touched us, to the moment they were done. It was one full hour. I am a first time customer here and you would think they'll want to impress me to come back for a 2nd appmt. but that was not the case. I was assigned a therapist whose touch was so light, I didn't even notice she was giving my head a massage. She can barely lift my arms and legs to adjust the sheets. I also had to ask for medium pressure multiple times during the session as I can barely feel the massage. I'm guessing the therapist is not able to stand for a long time, so she uses the stool chair to go around the massage table. It was a very clunky, NOT relaxing experience for me as I hear/feel her bumping everywhere in the small room. She was courteous and polite, and I still gave her a good tip. However, i'm still thinking about the money I spent and really not worth the service. My recommendation, try getting a massage from your therapist once in a while. Terrible facial experience. I've been to many facials but this was my first one at elements. Terrible ambiance, the lady's touch was so light during the scalp and hand "massages." JW was AWESOME!!! If you are an athlete or truly needed a SOLID deep tissue, that's your guy. I've never been able to have a strong pressure deep tissue, it's never been enough. I appreciate the guaranteed satisfaction of each visit. Only once I was disappointed with my massage, the manager happened to over hear my feelings and said there would be no charge. I was completely surprise, after all the person did spend a hour with me, but it was not at all what I had asked for online. It felt like I was just getting oil rubbed on me. It must have been an off day for her. I still left her a tip for her efforts. So only One unsatisfactory experience out of 4 years isn't bad. And if you are Kind they will take good care of you. I have gone to multiple locations with Elements Massage and have seen multiple massage therapists. Every time I seem to find someone good, they become an "elite therapist" with an extra fee associated. I had decided that with so many other options I would explore different massage establishments I found a great one and canceled my membership with Massage Elements. I had to give a 30-day notice so they took out one last payment that I needed to use up. I booked a massage for the next day. When I showed up for my massage it was someone that was also an "elite therapist" with an upcharge. Things seem to go well during the session aside from the fact that the therapist had earphones in with very loud music, so I could not really enjoy the spa music. About 2/3 of the way through my session I felt a cold drop on my shoulder. I blew it off. Within the final portion of my session the therapist was obviously sweating and dripped on me multiple times. I was trying to decide what to do and how to handle this repulsive situation of bodily fluids dripping on me. About that time, my massage was over. After getting dressed I went to the front desk to let them know what had happened. They then took me back to a different room to speak to a manager who apologized to me two times. I fully expected to have a phone call after the fact trying to rectify the situation. I assume someone would at least offer me another massage considering the fact that this was not a pleasant or an enjoyable one. No call. After this experience, believe me, I will never go back there. read more

To spare you research time, I looked at all the different Elements near north and central Scottsdale. Elements at Desert Ridge is the best. Jennifer would be my recommendation for a particular masseuse. She's highly skilled, great at deep tissue, takes pride in her work, cares about your experience, and is just a good all around human being. Angela, the office manager, is regularly out front and always a pleasure (as are all the other admin staff, like Beth - and everyone else!). Here a few things worth noting you can verify yourself easily - the absence of negative reviews about the admin staff or the way the membership plan is handled, the detailed profiles for the masseuses on the website, the number of masseuses, who do hard deep tissue, and the fact this Elements franchise has a different owner from the locations with the administrative complaints. read more

I just moved to Arizona and was looking for a new massage place. I chose elements Massage because I was a member in Colorado for 10 years and it was a good experience. I made the appointment and unfortunately typed in the wrong time in my calendar. On the drive to the appointment, I noticed I had a voicemail which stated I missed my appointment. I called and explained what happened and asked them to remove the no-show fee of $119. Let me preface this by stating that I decided to leave this review after my aunt came to this location recently solely based off her knowing that I came to the same location for a massage. Regretfully, she didn't know how my experience went and I regret not telling her about it so that she could have avoided wasting time and money here, so I figured I would at least warn others. I went looking for an affordable massage a couple weeks back while visiting my relatives and came across this location. I called to ask about appointments and availability/pricing and the receptionist who answered seemed irritated and generally unprofessional answering my questions. At the time, it was only my second time getting a massage so I still had a decent amount of questions about their process and services since I assume every location is a little different so I may have had some extra questions, but come on. So after the hassle of booking the 1 hour session (which I guess is normally $109?!! Quite a bit higher than massage locations near my hometown ~$75) for $79 because it was my first time there, dealing with the awkwardness of the receptionist in person, and awkwardly declining the extra services the masseuse tried to upsell me multiple times (herbal, aroma, and cupping BS), the massage wasn't even good! Super weak and left me feeling like I was ripped off a little. I don't like confrontation so I didn't want to tell my masseuse anything after I had already asked them to apply more pressure more than once but I felt like I shouldn't have to! It literally felt like I was being ignored just because I didn't get any extra services... My aunt is older and does not know how to use Yelp or leave a review, otherwise I would have encouraged her to leave a separate one about her own negative experience as well. Thankfully she brought it to my attention because I was already prepared to write it off as a fluke since I generally don't write reviews after a single bad experience. If this had been my first massage I might have thought all massages were like this and avoided them forever. I happen to be a business owner and I wouldn't want my employees behaving this way so I really hope the owner of this establishment re-evaluates their business practices and employee sales tactics because it certainly felt more like a scam than a service. I came in for a 90 minute massage with light to medium pressure. I also added the hot stone add on. It was worth it. Aliya was my therapist and I can not say enough about her. She was amazing and got all of my problem areas. The massage was what I needed and she was amazing. I signed up for the monthly membership and Robert was able to help me out. For my birthday I decided to treat myself to a massage as my lower back has been hurting for some time. As a newbie with massages I was really disappointed with JW. He ignored my requests to focus on certain areas. He was short with his responses and left abruptly with a few minutes left in the session. I was left feeling awkward and like I had done something wrong. The woman working the front desk was very kind and receptive to my review of the session. Desiree COMPLETELY fixed my body today-I am blown away!! After another Elements location fell short for me, I scheduled a prenatal at the Desert Ridge location. I am towards the end of my pregnancy, so my body has taken a real beating. But I honestly had no idea how bad my body was until she fixed it. I asked for deep tissue, and she was spot on. I really like a tougher, almost painful massage so I can tell that there is actually work being done on my muscles. She had me wincing in pain-but in a GOOD way. And now I feel the best that I have in months. I cannot recommend her enough. My only issue/warning with this location is that the employees are not wearing masks. I was surprised to see this since the other location requires employees to wear them. If this doesn't bother you, then great! I just wanted to mention it as the CDC is still recommending vaccinated people to wear masks in close quarters. Overall, this place is an A+. I already made my next appointment! read more
