Rebecca gave an amazing massage! I felt like her brain was processing every move she did with intention to help with certain muscles and lymph- it was so unique and I was very appreciative of her expertise! Overall the spa could use some Upgrades and little additions. It's an older spa and you can tell. But for example some cucumber washcloths on ice, the jacuzzi was TOO hot to even enjoy, the shower water took way too long to get warm and just overall it wasn't a 'wow' experience, but just really nice. I am pretty bummed about the Revive Spa. I have been coming here for years and it has just gone a little downhill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone that works there is incredibly nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But there is definitely not enough servers. We did not see our server by the pool for over an hour, almost two- which was of no fault of her own. She was the only one serving and had a packed restaurant inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When we did get our food, my salad was overdressed and missing ingredients that it had listed on the menu. My friend's chicken skewers were inedible because they were so hard. The spa pool is dirty and needs to be repaired. It missing tiles all around. Unfortunately, my massage was terrible. So terrible I had to see my chiropractor the next day because I was in pain from the massage. She would do light pressure one minute and then jam her thumbs into my spine the next. I would jump and my whole body would tense. This happened at least 5 times. After years of coming here, it was really disappointing. read more

I recently did a spa day at Revive with a few Mom friends when our kids went back to school. I got a 50 minute Swedish massage, with aromatic oils. It was great. Some other Moms did deep tissue, body scrubs, and manicure pedicures. Everyone was very happy with the spa. We met for lunch at the Bistro after our services. The Bistro is cozy and has great natural light coming in. We choose to eat inside because do the heat. The menu is breakfast and lunch Mediterranean cuisine. We had champagne, fresh juices, and shared the Strawberry Tartine as an appetizer. I ordered the Avocado Toast that came with a dill cream cheese, smoked salmon, cucumber, red onion, tomato, and everything seasoning. It was so fresh and delicious. It was a large portion so next time I know it's something I can split. A few Moms ordered the roasted turkey pita and loved that too. After lunch we went outside and enjoyed the Sanctuary pool. It was such a lovely, relaxing day. It was a week day so the spa, bistro, and pool weren't overly crowded which was nice. The worst is trying to relax when you can't even find a place to sit down. Revive spa has an amazing, nearly Olympic sized pool just for spa guests, a nice cafe with a good selection of healthy foods and huge fitness center plus a large waiting room prior to your spa appointment. I had a 60 min Swedish massage which was perfect for working out my sore muscles and also spent a hour working out in the gym. I tried the sauna briefly but as it was August, it just seemed too hot. I wanted to swim laps and was hoping the pool would stay cool since it is such a large pool but unfortunately, the water was way too warm for anything other than wallowing around. My hummus lunch was very good with lots of veggies and they substituted some gluten free flatbread for the pita ( it was a bit like a gluten free pizza crust that you often get at restaurants, but was nicely warmed and toasted). I've been to JW Marriott many times but never to their spa. Check in went smoothly, however, when I booked my appointment no one mentioned that the spa was going through some renovations. If I would of know this I would have possibly waited to schedule my appointment once their remodel was done. Their spa indoors is a bit outdated. I am very excited to see the new look! My pedicure was nice. Their pedicure chairs are very comfortable but have a lot of wear and tear. I heard they will be getting new pedicure chairs. That's exciting news. I have two suggestion for the women's locker room. It needs phone chargers and/or usb outlets. My phone ended up dying and I couldn't charge my phone anywhere with my usb cable. I had to ask the front desk for a charger so I could pull up my spa gift card. My other suggestion would be to have a quiet room where you can lay down and relax indoors. They only had some lounge chairs in the hot tub room and outside where the outdoor showers are. They need a quiet and cool area for relaxation especially if it's too hot by the pool. The pool cabanas looked updated and very nice. I liked the design. I enjoyed my meals by the pool. I ordered their jumbo shrimp, southwest caesar salad and their turkey wrap. The foot scrub lasted maybe 2 minutes and then she quickly put "hot socks" over my feet and was done with it. The facial.....she didn't even bother to do any extractions. She spent the entire 50 minutes lathering me up with different products that probably had very little benefit for my skin. He was very nice and a great masseuse!! My boyfriend forgot the name of his girl, but he did say he wish it was rougher- maybe he should have gotten a deep tissue- but regardless he enjoyed it. The locker room is very nice and has many complimentary items for after bathing such as lotion, hair spray, spray deodorant, mouthwash, blow dryer.... The lockers are very nice with a hook and 2 shelves for shoes. The pool area is beautiful. The cabanas look very nice and have a fan inside. The pool is 4' deep, but very nice to relax in. The spa bistro is ok- it's outdated or at least looked it. We were there on a weekday which made it very quiet.... We ordered fruit which is pre packaged it looks like- it's ok. I ordered a pink colada- it was ok, but I've had better. We didn't use the gym, but I could see a couple people in there and it was very full of machines! Staff are very friendly and the anti aging facial I got from Angela was magnificent but can't say the same for my 80 minutes deep tissue massage, it was alright for a $234 massage. This is a lovely spa in a top resort where the staff is first class, but the outdoor pool is third rate. The pool area looks like it hasn't been maintained for years, with decaying concrete around the pool, making it exceptionally painful to walk barefoot. While the water is clean, the tile along the water edge is worn and crusted with calcium. I am sorely disappointed in what could be an outstanding experience. read more

Having been to Revive Spa once before, I was excited to treat my pregnant friend that came to visit to a spa day... We were really looking forward to spending a few hours being pampered, perhaps working out a bit, sitting by the pool, etc... and we did all that - it just didn't WOW me as much as I thought it would for the price I paid. First of all, I was very clear when I made the appointments that my friend was pregnant and so I requested a prenatal massage for her. I requested a deep tissue massage for myself. I was pleased that they called the day before to confirm our appointments. We checked in about an hour before our scheduled massages and the lady looked at us both and asked "so, you both have prenatal massages, correct?" WHAT? NO! I looked down at my belly and said - nope - she has a prenatal massage and I requested a deep tissue massage. Not a huge deal and probably not the girl's fault, but that is not a mistake to make to someone who is weight-conscious and far from prego! No big deal... we're here to enjoy and relax. Deep breath, Gabi... :) So we are given a tour of the facility (which is beautiful, peaceful, tranquil, etc...) and we decide we have time for a walk before our massages. So, we go outside and make our way around the hotel a bit. There is a bunch of construction, so we turn around and go through the hotel and try to go to the back pool area to check it out. Nope... the pool attendant says that spa guests cannot enter that pool area (not even for a walk) - you must be a hotel guest to enter. OK then, we turn around and head back to the spa. With about a 1/2 hour before we need to be ready for our massages, we decide to get in a quick workout in the fitness center. It is clean, spacious for a hotel facility, and has all the equipment you need. This was a positive, as was the actual spa pool and jacuzzi, sauna, etc... Once we are in our robes and slippers, we head upstairs for our treatments - the waiting room is very well-done with comfy couches, chairs, blankets, plenty of magazines, relaxing music, and lots of treats (fruit, tea, water, trail mix, etc.) The services didn't blow either of us away and for what we paid, we each could've gotten 4 massages each at Massage Envy instead. But, again, it was about the day as a whole and the spa experience. So, we enjoyed a lovely lunch from the Spa Bistro and sat out by the pool in the afternoon. Not such a bad day after all - I just really wanted a 5 star experience for what we paid, and I can't give more than 4. However, it is hit or miss, so I encourage you to check it out yourself. My Favorite spa in the Valley. Words cannot describe how happy this place makes me. I checked in for a facial and was greeted with warmth and kindness. The wonderful smell of this place is something that I look forward to in between each visit. I want my entire home to smell like Revive. I was staying at the resort with family for a special occasion so I didn't make an all day event out of my visit to the spa but god knows you can - the private pool, cabanas, and women's locker room make it so comfortable that it's hard to rip myself away. The facial was so relaxing and my skin felt wonderful for days afterwards. The esthetician spoke in a very calming voice and gave me a step by step introduction to everything she was doing to my skin. Everything she did felt so good, it was difficult to stay awake, very enjoyable. Just now seeing the poor ratings of this spa; too bad. I booked treatments at the spa at Camelback Inn where I learned the steam room was broken. A steam room is always the most important amenity for me. The woman I booked with mentioned that I could book my treatments instead at Revive, the sister spa, since their steam room was functioning. I could not get both the salon and body treatments I had booked at the same times at Revive, so I told her I would keep my appointments and simply use the steam room at Revive this week so I could still get all that I was paying for. She said that shouldn't be a problem. Lo and behold, Revive was not interested in honoring that and denied my use of their steam room (good thing I called in advance to see if I needed to make an appointment). I mean, I understand policies, and I get that the lady I spoke with made a mistake saying she didn't see an issue with me visiting Revive, but I find it in extremely bad taste to not honor this. This wasn't even a poorly thought out response by a random Revive employee over the phone - the woman asked her manager and called back with the "denial"! The final straw was when they began wasting my time with questions about the woman at Camelback Inn that I spoke with... Yuck. I won't be returning and may steer clear of Marriott altogether ; there is so much to be said for class and this venue is lacking. I'm new to the area and looking for my blissful spa getaway (and missing my membership at Burke-Williams, where this would never happen). Best of luck finding an alternative spa! ;) read more

I checked into the Marriott Canyon Villas located on the same property as the JW Marriott on a Saturday evening. What better a way to start my vacation off right then a relaxing massage? I booked the special they were offering for Swedish massage for $99 for 50 minutes. When I checked in on Sunday am and received my locker I noticed that the men's steam room, Jacuzzi and saunas were all closed for remodeling! I booked a 10;00 am appointment so I could relax and enjoy the extra facilities and was totally bummed out. This was never mentioned regarding closure when I had booked my appointment. I mentioned this issue to my masseuse and she advised me the manager said they would resolve it at the front desk on my way out. The massage was very good but 50 minutes went by way to quick! After showering, sipping on camomile tea and relaxing in the lounge for about an hour I went to the front desk and they advised me that the service was complimentary! I wasn't expecting that and even advised the receptionist that a discount was sufficient but she said it was on the house since I was vacationing from out of state. I was impressed with the effort that management took to make things right! I would definitely return here again! read more

The recent updates to the spa are nice and it's got almost everything you can think of, but slightly pricier than others in the area. Definitely a good spot if you're loyal to Marriott and want those points and better food than others I've been too. Everyone that works here is super bubbly and nice. If I was doing a spa day with girlfriends, I'd definitely come back. The ambiance is better at some other spas especially the pool, but the lobby here is zen. One complaint is that they ran out of neck wraps in the relaxation room and there was hardly a chair to sit in when I arrived, but it is a Saturday so if you came on a weekday they'd probably have them. My skin looks great from my facial, but I can get the same from other spas that are slightly cheaper and have better ambiance and don't require you to have your credit card on you at the pool to get food/drinks! The spa is outdated and not luxurious at all so for the price is not worth at all. I went for a 80 minutes Swedish massage and 50 minutes facial. The massage was ok - not great just average although the masseuse was nice and pleasant. The facial was actually a disgrace. All products used smell absolutely disgusting like old expired products and the process was like putting lotion on ... something you can do by yourself with store quality products. On Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 3:30pm I called to inquire about a special package for Mother's Day that include "mommy and me spa services" which apparently they provided in the past . The girl on the phone was so rude when I simply asked. It was though I asked her a stupid question. Customer service should always begin at initial contact to then lead to the process of booking a wellness spa service. Instead it was awkward to say the least . I based my review on the total experience. For me the experience starts when I check in and I've always loved to put the whole day aside or at least several hours to enjoy the amenities. Today's experience was quite different than I had expected from past years. The girl who checked me into the locker room had such a thick accent I could not understand anything she said. I guess that was not a big concern though because her tour was over in about 30 seconds. After getting in my robe, I realized I was unable to put my phone or anything in my robe pocket. Everything is sewn up and unusable. I guess that's a great way not to leave your phone behind, but also very inconvenient and I had to carry my phone around everywhere. I mentioned this to one of the attendants and she simply said I shouldn't have my phone anyways because I was there to relax. The steam room smelled like a wet shower and was not at all how I had remembered it. There was no fresh smell of peppermint or eucalyptus that I had enjoyed in the past. I then went to use the hot tub and honestly I think a picture describes everything. Please see the attached photo and you decide if that looks inviting. It was not for me. I decided to go upstairs and wait for my massage. There were no soft comfy blankets like in the past. The actual massage was in great. She did talk a lot which is not exactly what I wanted. I had really wanted to unwind and I guess that was not her plan. That said, however, it was a very good massage. I also wanted to note it was extremely awkward to pay immediately when I checked in before any services were rendered and also an automatic 20% tip off the full price. I had purchased a TravelZoo offer, but still tipped off the full price. That's another point worth mentioning. The travelzoo offer came with a glass of champagne which I never received. I hope somebody got to enjoy my glass! Also, it was supposed to come with a scalp massage add on. I mentioned that to my masseuse and she said she had no idea I was supposed to get that. This made me feel uncomfortable, but she decided to do it anyway. At the end of the day, the massage was great, but I would not return. I recently spent a week at the hotel, and I'm surprised to say that the Spa was the least impressive part of my stay. The amenities were there, but looked worn down. I'm not sure if the place is still coming online from COVID, but they seemed to be short on staffing as well. We couldn't get dual salon appointments when we arrived, because they only had one nail tech on duty that day. Another day that we went: they had two cashiers, one attendant for the men's locker room, and maybe one for the ladies, there was one gal working the bistro and she also doubled as the only attendant for the entire pool. The staff were hit and miss - some were friendly and helpful, and others were gruff and unaccommodating. And the pool was a bit of a mess. The towels were stacked on the table, not placed on chairs as is usual for a location such as this. Chairs were disheveled all around the pool. The pool cover was rolled up and placed on a chair, not out of site. Anyway, there's probably a better place around town to get a massage and lounge by a pool. read more

I received a hydrafacial and left with red spots on my face from manual extractions. Over the next two days they turned into deep cystic acne and when I called with my concerns, the supervisor Madison said they should not have done manual extractions. Came to Revive Spa for a massage while in Phoenix visiting a friend. The spa looks fantastic-- sparklingly clean and nicely decorated with a peaceful atmosphere. After arriving in the reception area we were greeted promptly and escorted to the locker area by a staff member. She gave us a complete tour of the spa and showed us how to use the lockers. We changed into our robes (which are of nice quality and much better than the terry robes you find in most spas) and headed to the quiet room upstairs. Side note: I must find out who makes the lounge chairs that the spa has in their quiet room. I want to fill my house with them and then never leave. They are that comfortable. My massage was excellent. I've had plenty of massages in my life and this was a particularly good one. Afterwards, we headed out to the pool area and lounged poolside for quite a while. We found empty lounge chairs without any problem and a waitress came around to offer us menus and complimentary water. This spa is a class act. The time I spent here was wonderfully relaxing and indulgent. When in the area again I would absolutely return here. read more
