If you want a same-day appointment for a relaxing, no-frills massage, go for it. I was looking for more hence this mediocre rating for Lemon Tree Massage. My body is well past using massage therapy for pampering; I need it for relief from aches and pains. Out of desperation, I walked into Lemon Tree Massage for a same-day, 90-minute upper body massage. My shoulders and neck were feeling like concrete and they hurt. My massage therapist was very friendly, but she was not an expert in muscle anatomy. Therefore, the massage was not as helpful as I needed it to be. I paid $100 for a 90-minute massage plus a 20% tip. I tipped her for her effort and professionalism even though I left disappointed. She checked in throughout the massage for desired pressure, but she was definitely more accustomed to massage for relaxation versus therapeutic relief. A few more notes...There was no table warmer, which was fine by me, but you get the gist this is a no-frills experience. There is no neck cradle on the massage table; you're given a donut pillow. Definitely one of my favorite places. I was a walk-in today & I'm so glad they do. I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to have time for one on the day I came in but boy oh boy did I need it. I did a 2 hr massage with cupping. This was more of a "working" massage, with deep knots that needed some working out. The pressure was a little more intense than in past appointments but again, was needed. Will absolutely be coming back to this place. Remember, there is a small $2 service fee for credit/debit cards but I believe it's totally worth it. So happy with this place. read more

I visited Lemon Tree Massage this afternoon expecting a straightforward, one-hour massage for the advertised $70--a reasonable rate for Scottsdale. What I experienced instead was unprofessional, disruptive, and completely unacceptable. Within the first few minutes of the session, my massage therapist abruptly left the room without explanation, returning several minutes later. Shortly after, she disappeared again--this time for even longer. Moments later, there was a knock at the door. It was a police officer instructing me to get dressed immediately. The business was being raided. According to the officer, there were issues with the establishment's paperwork. Based on the circumstances, it's hard not to question whether there were additional problems behind the scenes. Regardless, the result for me as a paying customer was the same: a completely interrupted service that was never delivered. When I went to the front desk to request a refund, I was initially refused--despite multiple police officers standing in the lobby. Only after raising my voice and firmly insisting on being reimbursed did the staff return my $70 in cash. No customer should have to argue to get their money back for a service that was clearly not provided. If this business reopens, I would strongly advise others to think twice before returning. At a minimum, customers deserve professionalism, transparency, and basic accountability. Based on this experience, Lemon Tree Massage failed on all three. read more

As a massage aficionado, it's important to recognize great talent when I "feel it." The bodywork talents of these ladies was phenomenal. The customer service was pleasant and they got us in same day. They definitely advocate for upgrades and gratuity - but hardly an issue if you recognize a great service. My only complaint from making this 5 stars is the lack of communication in session. Neither me nor my friend were asked about pressure or concerns at the beginning or throughout- they just silently jumped right in for 60 minutes without touching base. In a busy world, perhaps it's just the tranquility we need. read more

When I talked to the massage therapist she worked on the areas that were really bothering me. She gently worked out the knots in my neck and when she walked on my back it was the best since I was in Thailand 20 years ago. I recommend this business!!! read more

Took my aunt here while she was visiting and we did the 90 mins couples massage to be in the same room. We added some essential oil to our treatment. The place was clean and tranquil. The price for the 90 minute massage included hot stones and hot towels at no additional cost. Our therapists were courteous and unbelievable. Mine asked me if I was comfortable with the pressure and made me aware of when she was about to get the hot stones, add them, etc. I also loved all the stretching incorporated during the massage. Thank you! Loved the massages!! Don't go here expecting the frills. But if you're looking for a good massage in a clean setting, they've got you covered. The masseuses/masseurs adjust firmness based on your feedback and really loosen out the tough spots. They also stretch you out. The hot stones after the deep tissue massage felt incredible. I got a mind blowing, amazing deep tissue massage. I tend to get massages everywhere I go, and this was by far one of the best massages I've gotten in a long time. Had a great message with Emily. She was attentive to my needs, she had a couple phone calls to answer since it was only her there but she went for an extra 5 min or so which I appreciated a lot! My partner and I had a couple massage at Lemon Tree massage. Our massage therapists were friendly and the massage was good for the price you pay but when we left the front desk personnel started negotiating with us on the tip. She gave us a hard time and wanted us to leave more tip. We thought that was very rude since the tip should be at the customers discretion and not demanded. If they want more money for the massage they should increase their rates but to lure you in with one rate and then treat you rudely when they are not happy with the tip you leave, it just leaves a very bad after taste and ruined the whole experience for us :( read more

The massage therapists were very thorough throughout the 90min massage. My husband and I were so relaxed we both fell asleep at one point! I'll try to keep this simple - you get what you pay for. My experience was exactly like Jill B - about 30 minutes of pushing through a sheet followed by what I deem to be by FAR, the worst "massage" of my life. I feel like I completely wasted my money. No wonder they make you pay before the service (which I have NEVER experienced elsewhere, this was a red flag) I'm sure they had many times where people refused to pay due to dissatisfaction. Hmm, I wonder why? They did not ask for any paperwork to be filled out. Is this even legal? My therapist did not ask me ONCE if I had any problem areas etc, just once "pressure ok?" No other communication. I clarified on the phone before coming in that my therapist could do deep tissue (which is $10 extra, by the way) of course I received nothing even close to deep tissue. I'm convinced this upcharge was a total rip off. I left feeling pain in my spine, probably because the "therapist" was on her HANDS AND KNEES on my back - wtf??? Is this your attempted version of deep tissue? Granted, the therapist was extremely petite, but seriously it felt like she hardly knew what she was doing... It was bad, bad. I've had many massages and it was clear she had no knowledge of anatomy or reading the muscles in the body - or, she just didn't give a single f**k. Either one is BAD. I will say, on a positive note, all women working there were super nice, and the place was clean. Rooms are tiny and walls are extremely thin, you could hear the front door bell going off the whole time. I went in with my cousin, and she said her therapist asked her about problem areas, and that her massage was nice and fluid. Did I just get the absolute worst therapist they had? Maybe they thought I wouldn't care because I am younger? Regardless, this was a HUGE disappointment. I obviously will never return nor will I ever visit a "bargain" massage place again for this exact reason - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I'd much rather pay $40-$60 more for a quality massage from a professional therapist that I know will actually benefit my body, than trying to cheap out and walking away with such disappointment. Visit at your own risk! read more

I found this hidden gem on Yelp. I took a chance even though there were minimal reviews. I have been to a few Thai massage places around the valley. This was the best massage I have had. Had the most aaaamazing Swedish massage with Peter. I did a 60 min and wished I scheduled a 90! Perfect pressure for me and he really helped loosen up my tight neck and shoulders. I have already booked my next massage. A huge plus for me is that you get a lovely private room. It even has a bathroom in it. Along with that it was nicely decorated and super clean! Emily at the front desk was super sweet and helpful. They do ask that you pay first. When I asked why as that seemed odd to me, Emily was very kind and explained that it makes things faster checking out because they get so busy. You tip when checking out which works for me because if the massage sucked wellll ya know how that would play out... just saying. I tipped 25%... It.Was.That.Good. I would recommend bringing cash if you can. I was running behind so didn't have time to grab any. If you use a cc there is a $2 fee but that is nominal compared to the cost of merchant cc fees on small businesses. This is def my new go to for massages. read more

Sadly, turns out there's a reason for the prices: I'm not really sure the masseuses knew what they were doing. Apart from the massage starting 15 minutes late, they pulled down the tiny hand towels that were used to cover our bits up for most of the massage. So, my girlfriend and I are laying basically bare naked for the first half with our back ends in the air enduring a makeshift elbow massage. They used baby oil - still in the Kroger bottle - as she roughly ran her hands and knuckled her way into my spine. One of the most uncomfortable massages I've ever had. But the real reason I decided to leave a review was because after a week or so, I've had ingrown hairs from where she ripped out my leg hair. It wasn't how she called out that we didn't leave a big enough tip when we tried to leave or how she pinched my butt and told me to relax during the massage... but having to rub peroxide on my legs the last few days really did it. Don't be tempted by the low prices: save yourself the discomfort! read more

I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for myself and 3 girlfriends. At the time of booking, I made it clear we had not decided on services yet and wanted to choose when we arrived. The night before, they called and left a voicemail confirming us for 90-minute massages, which was never agreed upon. I immediately called back and clarified that we were still coming, but only wanted 60-minute massages and would choose our exact services when we got there. They confirmed that was fine. When we arrived, I signed us in and specifically wrote "combo" because I was interested in their combination reflexology. Before my massage even started, I clearly told my masseuse I wanted the combo reflexology, and she acknowledged it. However, the massage I received was not reflexology at all there was no foot soak and barely any foot work, which is standard at every reflexology place I've been to. On top of that, during the massage they were extremely pushy about extending our sessions another 30 minutes (making it 90 minutes total). I was asked twice, and all 3 of my friends were also pressured to extend. We all declined. At checkout, I noticed I was being charged significantly more than expected. When I asked, they told me they gave me the "combo body massage" instead of the "combo reflexology." That was never what I asked for. Instead of taking accountability or trying to correct their mistake, they did nothing. To make matters worse, their tipping system feels very uncomfortable and aggressive. They present tip options starting around 30-38% and hold the payment screen right in front of you, creating unnecessary pressure. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and focused on upselling rather than customer service. I take responsibility for not being more confrontational in the moment, but not everyone is comfortable speaking up, and businesses should not rely on that. I left feeling taken advantage of, and unfortunately, they've lost our business. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience.

I typically don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I visited this establishment expecting a professional massage to alleviate tension and stress. Unfortunately, the session was far from therapeutic. The therapist applied pressure seemingly at random, without any discernible pattern or understanding of muscle groups. It felt as though they lacked formal training in massage therapy, as there was no attention to areas of tension or consideration for muscle anatomy. Instead of relief, I experienced discomfort during the session, and the pain has persisted well beyond the appointment. I attempted to communicate my concerns during the massage, asking for adjustments, but the pressure remained inconsistent and misapplied. The lack of technique and disregard for client feedback made the experience not only ineffective but also detrimental to my well-being. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking a genuine, professional massage. The session left me feeling worse than before, and I am now dealing with lingering pain that I didn't have prior to the visit. read more

I took myself to a massage at Lemon Tree Massage after a hard and exhausting workday, and it was just what I needed. My stress was immediately released as soon as I stepped in because of the welcome and peaceful ambiance. The massage therapist was really good and focused on the regions of my body that I was most stressed up about. Around 25 minutes into my 90 minute massage I abruptly but kindly said I'm sorry but this isn't going to work, I told the young masseuse that my stomach and legs were sweating into the bed. The bed was now feeling damp, very unpleasant, she apologized and asked if I'd like to continue the session I said no that's OK and It's not your fault, so she left the room, I got up got changed came out and when I did, I was very rudely greeted by the Asian manager, the manager begged me to pay some sort of fee, I told her that won't be happening and how miserable of an experience I just had, she did not care. All she wanted was some kind of money exchange, I again said I'm sorry but I'm not paying for 25 minutes of this and it was by far the least pleasant experience I've ever encountered with a massage, she then raises her voice and says get out! so I calmly turn and say how unprofessional of you. I'm going to write review and it won't be a good one. She then says I don't care get out! Do not go here, worst massage in scottsdale I've been to and surrounding areas.
