Pick from these pastas: Spaghetti, Fettuccine, Beef Ravioli, Pumpkin Ravioli, Spinach & Ricotta ravioli, Gnocchi, Penne, Tortellini Pick from these sauces: Bolognese, Primavera, Boscaoila, Amatriciana, Siciliana, Pesto, Puttanesca, Marinara, Italian Sausage, Adamo's sauce They also have special pastas and flavours as well, like pumpkin gnocchi or squid ink. A whole bunch of uni friends and I were really looking forward to this restaurant opening up, and once it did, we weren't disappointed! All items on the menu are, while not exactly 100% friendly to cheap students like myself, are good enough for us to splurge on every now and then, and are in fact cheaper than the two closest Italian places I can think of on Anzac Parade. Actually, the serving size is no joke, it's very good value for money (it's just bad for me to want to buy lunch at uni every day!) and very filling. There's a great variety of pasta sauces and many delicious vegetarian options. However, I do find that the pasta ends up being a little too oily, and this is very evident once you reach the bottom of your serving and your last few strands are swimming in excess oil. Every time I go, I also get the garlic bread, which I think is amazing value (two large pieces for ~$2.50) and it also tastes and smells heavenly. Their coffee is also quite pleasant, with a nice and smooth finish. I have heard though, that the quality of the coffee varies depending on the barista, though I haven't been able to confirm this myself. Unfortunately, the downside to this location is definitely the lack of seating available. It's very hard for groups to be able to sit down straight away and enjoy their meal, but to be honest, most students have their favourite little spots to go and eat lunch at, so it's not a huge downside anyway. Finally, they use biodegradable containers for their pastas, which is a huge plus in my book!

The size of the meals are fairly big which is good for the following day. No need to buy lunch. I think it was only $81 for four meals and drinks which is really good for the quality of food there. The one thing that made it a four star instead of five was the Air-con. It was uncomfortably hot which didn't entice us to stay longer for an espresso. Especially as it was a +30°C day. We dined Alfresco which was lovely. While awaiting our pizza we noticed another table receiving an amazing pizza and were excited for what we were going to get. We also noticed that the table that had just received the pizza were not eating it, awaiting for another guest to arrive. Once he sat down they commenced touching the pizza, realizing this was not their order they told the waitress, who took it away, went inside with it, then re-emerged a few seconds later to give us this same pizza. I told her that it had been touched and I didn't want this one. She said she would get another one and she didn't realise it had been touched(the pizza sat with the other diners for about 10 minutes before they realised it wasn't theirs. My husband checked his time to see how long the pizza would take to arrive. Surprisingly our pizza was ready quickly. As we went to take it, the pizza was completely cold over the top and the dough warm underneath. At this point we realised this was perhaps placed on the warmers and the pizza which had already circulated once reserved to us. My husband was hesitant to make a complaint, but I politely called the waitress to explain about the pizza. She went to call the manager, who came out in defensive mode "This is a new pizza, it's cold because we put cold ricotta on top", "Well what about the cold ham, sausage meat,olives, etc" I responded. He replied abruptly and rudely" This is freshly made!". We ate our contaminated and cold pizza with apprehension hoping the people that had touched it didn't have faeces, urine or other body contaminants on their hands when they touched our pizza and that the sausage meet had not been out of the oven too long. Can I also mention that a Greek salad is typically tomato, cucumber, olives, feta and red onion. Ours came out with lettuce and no tomatoes with over kill balsamic vinegar. When I went to pay, the manager reassured me that the pizza was fresh - I requested to see my thrown pizza if it was replaced. He quickly replied he gave it to a cousin complimentary. I reminded him " Honesty is the best policy" How disgusting and to think he breached so many food safety standards. To top it off he approached while I even bothered to pay and called me Signora in a condescending manner. Fess Up! It was not my fault that your waiters couldn't get the food on the right table. You can choose either a Churrasco style from $55 per person or just order whatever you like for entrees, mains etc. We ordered some Asa De Frango (Spicy chicken wings & Chilli sauce) $14 and Pao (Warm sourdough & extra virgin and balsamic) $3pp to start, whilst we waiting for more friends to arrive. Chicken wings were the bees knees! Not overly spicy but just enough to feel the tingle on your lips! :P For drinks I got the Guava tree (Absolut vanilla, aperol, lemon juice & guava) and my friend Emma got the passionfruit, chilli & basil Caipiroska both $17. The Guava tree was amazing - think of a warm summer afternoon at the beach or a venue with water views with this cocktail in hand. The Guava tree was that good that by the time the rest of the group arrived we ordered 3 more and a Char & Co margarita. It appeared the restaurant was a bit understaffed as after the cocktails the girls wanted a bottle of red but it took them 10 minutes to bring it out! When a different waiter brought it out she apologised and said that didn't expect it to be a full house. Emma and I opted to get mains whilst the other girls preferred to get starters to share as they weren't too hungry. I got the Porco (Mojo pork sholder, chipotle barbecue, grilled pineapple & red cabbage slaw) came with shoestring fries $19 and Emma got the Frango. Burger was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! It was messy and saucy and there was good amount of pork shoulder. Shoestring fries crispy and light. I had to bail straight after but left on a happy note. Overall, it was a great first visit, staff were very friendly when they came around to our table. I was a wee bit disappointed I didn't have the time nor the stomach capacity to get the Churros with warm callebaut chocolate & Dulce De Leche! I believe sides are ala carte in that case. So why only 4 stars, you might ask? Even though we were seated immediately, the service was rather slow. The place did have other patrons but definitely not bustling...so no reason for slow service. Wait staff was a mix of slightly aloof to slightly friendly. Parking is metered street parking unless you want to park at the covered garage on Cross Street which is a very short stroll around the corner. All in all, a good meal in an intimate setting...
