A bit has changed since then but the pasta is still freshly made and you can get a choice or different pastas fresh and frozen to take home. A few different types of ravioli, pepperdelle, fettuccini and so on. They also have a few sauces on sale at the shop. It is still the small shop that it used to be with a bit more refrigeration. A gorgeous place to get fresh pasta in town and priced reasonably.

Is there anything better than fresh pasta? I don't think so…read more Peppe's Pasta is a Haberfield legend. Only using fresh local ingredients, Peppe's has managed to remind Australians just how real Italian pasta is meant to taste. Of course they make a variety of styles including regular pasta, ravioli and gnocchi but then they step it up and also offer each style in a range of flavours. Why don't you try Roasted Butternut Pumkin and Fresh Sage Ravioli for a change? Or perhaps Olive with Feta Cheese and Fresh Herbs is more your thing. Want something a little more fancy to impress your date? Pick up some Roasted Duck, Prosciutto & Caramelised Onion Ravioli or even Braised Lamb, Mushroom, Brandy & Rosemary. Any ingredient that is worthy of being stuffed into a sheet of fresh pasta, Peppe's will be sure to stock it. If you don't have much time at home to prepare sauce from scratch, Peppe's has got the basics covered. I have never tried the sauces but if they are anywhere near as fresh and tasty as the pasta, I can guarantee they will be good. If you are as keen on the quality and flavours of pasta as I am, then why are you still reading? Go out and buy some!

One of the most authentic Italian restaurants I've been to in Sydney, if not THE most. Went here…read morefor a girls lunch a few weeks back and really enjoyed ourselves. We got the group menu where we could choose 2 courses from either entree and main or main and dessert. I'm a savoury girl so I went entree and main. Bread and olive oil (something I've grown to love since my Italy visit) was a perfect starter. The bread roll provided was huge and dense and was the perfect thing to fill my stomach (and to absorb all the wine) while we waited for the entree. The olive oil wasn't the most flavourful but they bring out a little flake salt and that was just the touch it needed. The mozzarella winter salad was just ok. There wasn't enough other stuff in the dish to make it flavourful. It was just a little bland unfortunately. But my gnocchi? My special- not on the menu but they were happy to accomodate my diet- gnocchi was oh so yum. Everyone else really seemed to like their food- they even had wild boar ragu which I may have tried if I actually ate pork. Unless you like drinking paint thinner that has gone off... stay away from the grappa espresso. I don't know what I was thinking ordering this... I hated it in Italy and it was no better in Australia. I think I was a little too tipsy at the end of my meal and just wanted to feel like I was really back in Italy -the part of Italy that I found most disgusting. That's not saying anything bad about the grappa and espresso at Cucinetta, I'm sure if you like off paint thinner, you'll love theirs. Definitely a great spot for BYO groups. Right on the water with a beautiful view and the Italian servers were friendly and accommodating.

Well I must say the food was amazingly mouthwatering, my wife an I had the farm fresh figs for entrée, the lamb and pork belly for main and the chocolate fondant, with the pear and raspberry crumble for desert. It's was just heavenly, I could not believe how WOW the food tasted... It was almost like I was trying the flavors for the first time ever. We also had the pleasure of meeting chef Vincenzo, he is such a gentleman and really does have a great passion and pride in his work. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again when we come to sydney, I think now it is one of our favorites. Definitely a must eat when in the area and a gorgeous short ferry trip from CBD.

My friends took me here on my last day in Sydney, and it was the perfect farewell brunch!…read more There was a festive menu at the time that we dined, and it was great! 3 courses for $40AUD (or 2 courses for $35AUD), you know I had to get the 3 courses! For Starters, I got the Ora King Smoked Salmon Pate. For my Mains, I got Primavera Ravioli. For dessert, I got the Jamie's Black Forest Panna Cotta. Everything was soooo good! The ambiance was chic & cute, and the server was great! I honestly felt like I was back in the US for some reason!

My second and most recent visit helped extinguish that memory. Our waitress was very lively and sweet. She gave us plenty of time to look over our menus and made solid recommendations. I ordered the Spaghetti Alla Norma and it was pretty tasty. I also sampled some of the polenta chips which were surprisingly good. We opted to get dessert elsewhere but overall the food was pretty good. I'd like this place more if the prices were a little lower and they had more basic pastas available. I'm not a fan of seafood or mushrooms and can't handle spicy so I felt a little limited...although the pumpkin ravioli was tempting. Next time!

This is an incredible Italian Deli hidden in a suburb of Sydney, Australia. All the deli meats like…read moremortadella, bresaola and salami are imported. I came here to get some deli meat for sandwiches during our stay but left with a full heart and excellent memories! The first visit, I arrived around 10:30AM on a Saturday. I had to wait in line only like 45 minutes! Talk about popular! The second visit, I arrived around 8:30AM on a Saturday and didn't have to wait in line but for 5 minutes! Woohoo! Almost everyone was getting these massive custom sandwiches on focaccia with fresh sliced Italian meats, fresh cheese, marinated veggies, arugula and much more! They are HUGE! I just wanted the deli meat so I could pair it with fresh sourdough bread I got elsewhere since it's better for my messed up digestive system. No problem! Mortadella with olives or black pepper? Yes! Salami? Yes Bresaola? Yes I also got marinated mushrooms, spicy olives, artichoke hearts, and tomatoes. All are FANTASTIC! But, it's the staff and the clientele that make this place special. Sam recognized me on my second visit and asked me, after I got my food, if I'd like a coffee... Espresso please! Then, he invited me to stay a while. I realized they have real imported Italian pasta made from Italian wheat which is not a common thing to find. I got two boxes! Joe explained these are imported from Sicily with Sicilian wheat and they also have pasta imported from Napoli made with local wheat! I got that too! They also have numerous other imported items like Panettone, pesto and much more! Customers joined in the enthusiastic conversation to tell me how awesome Raineri's is since I was obviously a (American) tourist and a new guy! I love the enthusiasm! They all asked me why I was there and I explained I was in Sydney for my 35th wedding anniversary! The unhurried conversation flowed. I can't wait to return! Life is molto bene with a local, unique, unhurried, friendly, delicious and enthusiastic hidden gem!

The real deal Italian Deli and probably the best I've ever been too…read more I was fortunate to come here on a gourmet food tour of Sydney when I visited in June of 2010. It's family owned and has been for a couple of generations by the Raineri's. It's an established amazing deli. The place is crowded, bustling and filled to the brim with imports from Italy and local Italian products. On the tour we were treated to platters of olives, salami, prosciutto, chicken, octopus, cheeses, bread and olive oil. They even made a pasta right at the counter using their very own homemade lemon pasta, with a bit of cheese, parsley and olive oil. Now I don't know that much about Italian antipasto, although I like to think Bay Cities in Santa Monica is the southern California authority, but I can safely say Raineri's blows Bay Cities out of the water. Their prosciutto melted in my mouth, I have never had anything even close to it in the States. The cheeses were out of this world, especially the ricotta; I could have eaten spoonfuls with nothing else. I bought some of their asiago and a dozen slices of salami home, which I ate the rest of my time in Sydney. Stellar!!!!!!!
