I love this institution. Arthur's Pizza was founded by Arthur Premetis in Charing Cross in 1970. Arthur introduced Sydneysiders to a new style of pizza with alternative ingredients such as seafood, mushroom and pepperoni. Arthur became a pioneer when it comes to pizza. He claims to be one of the first to introduce pizza to Australia using the conveyor belt type oven. This is the reason that the pizzas are so perfectly cooked every time. The great range of pizzas are dazzling. 23 different choices or if you don't like the offered ones - make your own! I go here because of the no fuss, quick service, fantastic meal choices in both pizza and Italian pasta dishes and of course the price! I usually eat either here or at one of the other Arthur's restaurants in Paddington or Bondi Junction on a frequent basis. Try it? If you are new to Sydney or a visitor most definitely, because the locals have been coming here for years.

Pleasant old school pizza parlour. Good atmosphere, popular among locals. Pizza is agreeable as is the pasta.

Nice place. Certainly not the best italiane cousine I have ever tried and the pasta I ordered was a bit too salty, but still a good cafe.

Society Pizzeria Di Catania - A perfect place to enjoy a good red wine!

For starters we order the Semplice garlic and mozzarella calzone ($8). The slices softly ooze melted mozzarella and on first bite we develop a satisfying stringy, cheesy bond with the Semplice. Heaven!! The Caprese salad ($12) of bufala mozzarella, roma tomato and basil is simple, fresh and vibrant on the plate as well as on the palate. Society Pizzeria Di Catania have 3 pizza sizes; traditional, 0.5m and 1m pizzas. Given we want to try 2 types, our waitress suggests the 0.5m rectangular pizza, which is the same cost and size as selecting 2 traditional round pizzas separately. The pizza board is massive when it arrives, with generous toppings all the way to the edges. The aroma of truffle oil is from the Marcantonio ($20) is irresistable, and compliments the saltiness from the proscuitto and the lightness of the fior di latte cow's milk mozzarella. The wood-fired dough is super light and thin, with puffy cloud-like crusts that are easy to eat.

Lucio's is about the same distance walk from Hyde Park, just in the other direction, tucked in a quiet residential area. They don't take reservations so we made sure we were there right at 6 when they opened. Friendly servers stacked some tables up and we enjoyed the outdoor-cafe ambiance watching people in a stroll or arriving at ours and the other little restaurants in the square. The pizza was just what we've come to expect from certified Neopolitano pizzerias. The crust is key: thin, chewy and delicious. They have a wide variety of toppings. We loved the Calzone but just as toppings on the pizza, the Fontina, the arugula-prosciutto one and the white-sauce broccoli. We ordered the 1 meter pizza (which is NOT a diameter like we were thinking - more like 4 pizzas in a row) but it wasn't enough so we ordered another 1/2 meter. The rocket-pear salad was also very good. We finished the equivalent of 6 pizzas between 8 adults and 3 kids. One of us was gluten free so they brought a mozzarella/prosciutto plate. The location was nice. The kids could run around the square while we sat and chatted. It filled up quickly - if you have a big group get there early.

It has recently undergone renovations but still in traditional theming. I've been many times and the Pho is amazing, very authentic. This time, however, I was with a colleague and her young son so we had child friendly food - fresh friend spring rolls, chicken with cashew nuts and mushrooms (the owner was kind to add vegetables for me for no extra cost), and crispy chicken, moist chicken with a crispy skin, side of oyster sauce and rice. All very tasty, very fresh and quickly served. Probably one of the best restaurants in Waverley. Not too expensive either.

It's small so definitely need to book for dinner, but usually fine to call a couple of hours in advance. Service is warm and attentive without being overwhelming. The decor is like walking into their family room, pictures on ledges, a lucky cat, magazine rack.. But don't be fooled - the food is fantastic. My top recommendations are definitely the pho (beef noodle soup with fresh herbs), whole deep fried fish with fish sauce, lemongrass, lemon and chili sauce, the fresh pork & prawn rolls and the chicken salad. But that's because we use it as our 'guilt-free' healthy dinner option (maybe except for the whole, fried fish, though it's surprisingly non-greasy). But the caramelised fish and the hot pots are lovely as well. BYO and take away are an added bonus. Try it and it'll become a staple!
