Free standing building with outdoor seating as well as kitsch Italian indoor room. Parking never a problem, the atmosphere really throws you back to a time where medici ruled over the north. This is NOT a modern Italian restaurant or some fusion thingy. If you ever been to Tuscany, the low lands what is Venecia, if you ever ran through Verona and screamed loud Julia at 3 in the morning, than this restaurant is for you. When in Rome, or in this case Tuscany or to be more specific Carlingford, we always seem to do what the Italians do and over order. A pizza (or two) to share between everyone, an entree each, a main of pasta each, a dessert each(the tirimasu seems to be the most popular option) and a coffee to help digest it down. On another table with eight people, two one metre long pizzas resulted in leftovers. I don't think they were trying hard enough as three of the group were schoolboys. The 50cm pizza can have two toppings and the one metre can have three toppings. An antipasti plate was delivered to another table and it looked pretty good too. We ordered two pumpkin salads, made it very clear (even held up two fingers), plus a glass of wine and a Pepsi. After waiting 40 minutes, only one salad came out -- and it was pathetic for almost $30: a tiny handful of rocket, two small cubes of pumpkin, and three tiny pieces of chicken. When we asked where the second salad was, the waiter said there was only one on the order. We reminded them we were short on time, and a staff member later told us the other salad would be another 5-10 minutes. We declined since we had to leave. Meanwhile, multiple staff kept bringing the wrong meals to our table, clearly lost. The manager's attitude was the worst part. While we were explaining the issue, she barely made eye contact, kept saying "yep, yep, yep" while filing menus, and offered no real apology or ownership. Her excuse? "We're busy." The place was half-empty, and staff behind the bar were chatting and drinking. All she offered was to remove the drinks from the bill -- which doesn't make up for terrible service, missing food, and total indifference. I manage a large clinic myself, and if any of my staff treated clients this way, there'd be immediate retraining. This experience ruined our evening and showed a complete lack of care, communication, and professionalism. Would not recommend Bondi Pizza Macquarie at all. Poor service, poor food, and a manager who couldn't care less.
