    Nutella Calzone
    Em S.

I absolutely love this place! It does pizza just like Italy. I had to look back at photos from when we were in Tuscany just to make sure I wasn't just making that up! Hubby and I come here at lease once a week for lunch and tonight we tried them out for dinner. Firstly, lunch. Pizzas and Paninis are the focus. They have $5 pizza - lunch size specials which have such soft chewy dough that we just love with fresh ingredients and lots of cheesy goodness on top. We usually end up ordering margherita and hot salami plus a Nutella calzone. The Nutella calzone fresh out of the oven can burn as you just can't wait to eat it but it is so good fresh! They do have some sitting there if you can't wait but you can have them make the pizzas to order. It takes all but 5 minutes most of the time to make the lunchtime size pizzas. Haven't had the chance to try their paninis but they are reasonably priced with it priced based on how many items you want on it. Dinner- this place is pumping at night! We didn't book but came in early for dinner (6pm!). I'd suggest to book as it is so popular! They have those metre pizzas if you're interested but as we have it all the time, we thought we'd try their specials. We weren't disappointed! They don't have a standard dinner menu, it seems it's either pizzas or their specials which is how we like it. Christian seems to have his specials based on produce availability which works for us! We had full 3 course menu as we couldn't help but want all the specials. Entrees- The prawns wrapped in speck just brought out the flavoursome freshness of the prawns. It also came with some bread. The calamari and zucchini fritters were well fried. Not too oily and light. We had Tuscan pasta (Fisarmoniche pasta - had to look it up as I'd never seen it before!) with speck, Gorgonzola cheese and walnut. Sounds odd but it worked. Well balanced flavours and tasty! We also had the spaghetti marinara which had some clams, mussels, prawn and scallops. Pasta was al dente and had the seafood saltiness to it. Delicious! We couldn't resist having dessert even though we were so full! We chose the Tuscan dessert special as it was something a bit different plus the Tiramisnu. Our usual pizza chef from lunch time sold it to us when we spoke to him earlier in the evening that Christian's wife had made the Tiramisu. The tiramisu was just awesome and I'd come back just for it. Looks like they had some you could take away! The Tuscan dessert had cantuccini (biscotti) and a fig/almond tart which was the tiniest slice I'd ever seen but it was very rich so tiny for a good reason! The biscotti wasn't too hard and just right for after dinner and went well with hubby's macchiato. Definately a great place and the staff are so friendly. Always feel welcomed to come here even when the place is pumping and busy!

Believe me I've had my share of pizzas from across the world, but Anema pizzas without a doubt are the best I've ever had. Period. No arguments.

New to West Ryde neighborhood, I was looking for a pizza, noticed there were several options…read morearound, but this one looked like the most tempting And I'm glad I decided to go First of all, staff was welcoming. Also, I learned it's a family business, always showing much about the spirit To be noted currently it's not possible to eat it, but made to go (or delivery) Thar being said, they have lots of food options, the regular savory pizza (traditional, classic, gourmet, vegetarian, chicken, seafood...), but also dessert pizza, calzone, salad, pasta, gelato... I went for the shoreline (seafood) pizza, which came with garlic marinated prawns, baby octopus, scallops, bocconcini (mozzarella), semi dried tomatoes, garnished with mixed herbs, and served with a wedge of lemon. As far as my memory goes, the best combo of ingredients I've ever seen on a pizza, what a brillant idea, loved it! No wonder when I brought him home to share with the friend I was staying with she told me not only this was the pizza place she was going to, but that this shoreline pizza actually was her favorite, not just a crazy coincidence I believe, but another proof of their good work! Highly recommended!

My favourites so far are the Constitution and the Buffalo. Their pizza crust is delicious, one of the best I've had from pizza places of this kind. They are a bit on the expensive side when compared to Domino's or Pizza Hut, but in the same range as Crust Pizza and tastes better too! Crust used to be my favourite in our area but they have now been topped by Secret Slice. They also offer pasta dishes, salads and dessert, and they have a nice and cosy eat in area for casual dinners with family or friends. They are open 7 days a week but only for dinner.

The food is very fresh and well presented. There is plenty of flavour and there is a good range of food and prices. Although we were there for lunch this time we picked a variety of food from the menu. I loved the entree to share, oil soaked cooked black olives. This goes very well with their crispy garlic bread. We each had a different main. Mine was the seafood marinara. I was taken back by the amount of seafood in the dish and how large the servings were. This dish could feed a family. Everyone was happy with their food and the drinks were readily on supply. It was a very hot day and the staff kept supplying us with cold water. Now I could say this was an excellent but on a vey hot day their air conditioning was not coping very well. Just something to be aware of. The staff were excellent!! This little place also does a breakfast menu and as I walked past today the waiter came up full of smiles. I love when you re visit a place and the waiter remembers your name. He was front of house for the business and he has my vote to visit again....( oh am I going red!) We'll see next time when I have a meal there for one! ha

I know that Crust is a chain or franchise, but I wonder how they have grown their business serving the worst version of Margherita pizza I have ever tasted. They should be ashamed to serve something like that when the frozen pizzas at your local supermarket taste better- and for me to say that, well ... it was that bad. Honestly,I didn't pay for the takeaway last night, and it was a treat for someone to shout us pizza.I ate 5 slices from four different pizzas as I was hungry, but looking back, there was only one that was worthy of positive feedback- Quatro Salumi-there was enough spicy salami to make my mouth happy, but the promised buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomato were only an afterthought and only put on top for colour. We had a pizza with rocket on top -the rocket should have been in a ziplock bag or container so that the rocket was eaten fresh instead of shrivelled up on top of the pizza. The staff at this place obviously do not eat rocket or they would already know this- customers must complain everyday about this. The other two pizzas were poor examples of what pizza should be. The three children that had the last two thought they were okay so maybe I am not in their target market group. Rather than going on like I already have, I will just finish by saying that I have never spent a dollar at Crust and will never do so. If I want a quick pizza delivered , their competition will be a better choice for me.And just because a restaurant puts the word "gourmet" in their business name, doesn't mean they will fullfill your expectations!
