For drinks, I tried the new 'Cincitucky' trail lager. It was super smooth and a nice, easy drink, definitely recommend if you're into similar drinks like Rhinegeist's Cincy Light. I think the atmosphere and the vibes are what keep me coming back to MadTree again and again. It is so warm, welcoming, and lively in there. The space is big and perfect to chat amongst others or watch whatever game is going on at the time. It is also so perfect for families and fluffy friends.

It's got a huge inside with long tables and a large bar, plenty of space for large groups. Outside is even bigger, with plenty of tables of all sizes for any group. We sat outside to hear the trivia better and enjoy the pleasant evening. You order your drinks at the bar and your food through a QR code on the table you're sitting at. This process was nice, as we didn't have to track anyone down or stare at a menu while trying to order with a line behind us. We got our beers from a friendly bartender, sat, and took our time scrolling through the menu. Our food came together, which was strange as we expected the wing appetizer to come first. The pizza was awesome! The cheese blend reminds me a lot of costcos. The wings were just okay. Maybe I am not a buffalo person, but overall they did not have much flavor. Next time we'll try something else. Prices can add up, but it is nothing crazy compared to places around town. If you want a nice evening with good drinks, good atmosphere, and good food, I'd recommend here.

I couldn't tell if it wanted to be a restaurant, a bar, or just a neighborhood hangout... it felt like a little bit of everything. It wasn't dirty, but it definitely looked like it could use a good deep cleaning. Also, the light directly above our table flickered on and off during our entire meal. It was incredibly distracting. Someone please call an electrician! Our server, Gabby, was pleasant enough, but the service didn't really stand out. We were there for almost two hours and never received a single water refill. Maybe it's because we only ordered one beer, but I still expected a little more attentiveness. Now for the food... I ordered the All American Burger. The highlight was definitely the beef and you could tell it was fresh and good quality. Unfortunately, the rest of the burger didn't come together for me. The toppings and flavors just didn't mesh the way I expected. The fries, however, were delicious! Overall, the meal was just... okay. I wouldn't say it was bad by any means, but it also wasn't memorable enough to have me rushing back.

He then told us that he needed to see some ID's because we were clearly not 21, but the pot bellied pig with a face more punchable than Kamala Harris, looked like he's about 1/4th of the way through puberty. After we told him we would be leaving due to the absence of calories, he pushes up his stupid tiny little glasses and stops us from leaving. We are all now wondering why mini Jonah Hill is holding us hostage? he then asks us where we are from and we tell him West Virginia to which he sincerely apologizes. Whether he thought West Virginia was a 3rd world country or he just has the social skills of a kindergartener we do not know. I came out in December for their Miracle pop-up in 2025…read more As someone who has gone to a ton of holiday cocktail bars and pop-ups over the last 10 years, Overlook Lodge's is probably the best I've ever been to. Be aware it will be FAST. Look at the order ahead of time if you're a picky eater/drinker. They run your appointment like clockwork, and you'll be in-and-out, gulping down cocktails, through the entire experience. Your two drinks are included (this year, anyway), and I'd honestly be surprised if you managed to have time for a third. Time zips by fast. That being said, because they do it this way, you essentially have constant service, there's "events" that happen at the end of your reservation time, (I don't want to spoil it, but cover your drink!), and then they kick you out. Service was friendly, though, and I saw the server make time to take group photos for all of the tables (including ours) with someone at the table's camera. (No bullshit "group photo" upsells here) It's kinda loud, though, and I wouldn't recommend this as a chill meet-up-and-socialize spot. (If you wanna talk, they have an addendum, Christmas-themed laid-back bar next door.) It's more of a "get blasted in the face by Christmas for an hour and then leave" experience. It's pretty loud, and talking can be a bit difficult over the music and constant interruptions (more drinks? Photos? Cute Christmas video montage?) But this works in its favor as it feels the most Christmas, over-the-top, and seasonal out of all the holiday bars I've ever been to. It also keeps it from feeling too crowded as reservations are required, so you for-sure have a seat and you don't have to stand forever in line to wait for drinks. I'd probably guesstimate that bar staff is making all of their seasonal drinks, constantly, and servers just pick one up to deliver. With the capacity in here, it would make sense. No idea what the bar is like the rest of the year; this is just a review for the Miracle pop-up which, again, is probably the best I've been to in the Midwest. Cincinnati, you're spoiled down here. (Sidenote, I was absolutely taken aback by their TV presentation on the wall. It's hard to describe, but it isn't just a projector showing a giant rectangle. It's specifically slotted into the holes in-between holiday decorations. Staff told me that had to hire special technicians to get it to show up that way and that's seriously a level of detail I am so amazed by.)

The food was tasty and very filling. Service was fast and friendly. The decor was very authentic, they absolutely have gone to great lengths to capture the German look and feel of the place. I'm not up in Newport very often, but I definitely will be back and try some more of the menu. Maybe I'll try some of those pretzels next time, the next table over got some and they looked really good.

I ordered the Rueben balls which I thought were nicely crisp on the outside but overly soft on the inside but it did taste very nice with the dip provided. I decided on the Munich Sampler which came with 2 sausages, a crispy fired pork chop with potatoes and sauerkraut. The pork chop was overcooked and dry although smothered with a mushroom gravy. The sausages were tasty but nothing special. Both sides were so heavily seasoned with vinegar I could not get through them. My husband even thought the sauerkraut tasted too vinegary but he loved the potatoes, polishing off what I had left on the plate. The service was great; prompt and polite. I would say if you like German cuisine this is the place for you! Quite authentic flavors. Just not my favorite.

Hosted by the Friends of Hamilton County / Cincinnati Public Library we were able to browse and buy books, hand made cards, puzzles, games and bookmarks for all genres. Perusing with a drink in hand or giggling over our finds with drinks after it was a perfect friends adventure! The bartenders were super fast and efficient with great presentation. Lots of places to sit and a family friendly atmosphere with at least one puppy in attendance too!!

They have a great sound system to play your music, microphones at the ready and projectors for presentations. The bathrooms are stylish and IMMACULATE. The ambiance is great as is, but you can add decorations if you want as long as they are removed after your event. The Bar staff made it look easy serving all of my thirsty guests and they were very friendly! I highly recommend! Oh, and I almost forgot, the beer is very good too! I also want to mention that when there is not an event happening, you can come in for drink! I will be coming back to try some barrel aged beers!
