Century Electronics was located in the same plaza. My friends and I would go in the store and look at all the hifi stereo equipment. This was probably nearing the end of the HIFI stereo era which produced the best iconic stereo equipment of all time. Needless to say we were tolerated even tho we couldn't afford anything in the store. Fast forward 30 years. My collection of stereo equipment was all manufactured before I was born by a good decade. It's the type of equipment that you get fixed and will never ever see the bottom up a dumpster. The number of individuals still alive with the skill to service these units and restore them to their glory is dwindling every year that goes by. Century Electronics has not 1, but 2 old school techs that can fix anything from Marantz receivers, McIntosh tube amplifiers to speakers all made before the Vietnam war. They take pride in their work and preserve quality by refusing to use cheap Chinese capacitors and other inferior parts. This is the only place I will take my equipment. Don't expect to walk in for the ABT style showroom with 100k of product. The back room repair shop is where it's at here.

My wife was extremely excited. Yooyoo looks like a very young Kenny G (look it up). Very relaxed, knowledgeable and doesn't come across as a rep that's hungry for a sale on a Sunday afternoon. Although we live in the city, I'd definitely make the 40 minute drive back to Schaumburg for the great service. My humble opinion.... I do feel as a customer, it does work better for me when I have a purpose. Then at least your asking questions based on intent rather than just simply browsing... which is totally fine as well. The cell phone case was on sale but it but I realized that that I something was off after I paid for all of my items. Sure enough, I didn't get the sale price and they did not void the transaction and I had to go to the customer service desk which was right was right a few steps away from the register where I just bought my stuff. At the customer service desk, I told the lady standing there that i was overcharged and told her the actual sale price and she said that the sale price I stated did not show up in her system. She then said it was I that HAD TO PROVE what the sale price was by going back to the department and taking a photo and show her the sale price. No call back to a store associate. No, it was me that had to prove it. A deceptive sale and I had to prove that they overcharged me. So I did by going back and taking that photo. So I came back moments later and she was helping someone else. Then another customer service dude (who had witnessed the previous encounter) was now helping me. I clearly stated I was not only returning the cellphone case but everything due to the hassle and deception. But now for the last burn he said, "WOULD YOU LIKE A STORE GIFT CARD INSTEAD?" Seriously? I kid you not. How many people are not getting the sales price? How many elderly people are being coerced into getting gift cards faulty items or just purchases like mine? Straight from check out? Mmmm makes you wonder?

Unfortunately due to water and environmental conditions the bottom rusted and leaked, necessitating replacement. Abt could not have been more helpful, in this time of need. The Abt office (Nathan) immediately and fully addressed the situation. The Abt plumbers delivered fast and truly excellent replacement with a new Reliance 50 gallon hot water heater and installed all the necessary copper pipe, valves and fittings---including full labor at no charge. The plumbers (Russell Cartwright and Tyler Fite) installing the unit were very meticulous and highly competent in every detail. They also were extremely helpful and courteous. I have used Abt exclusively for over forty years and recommended their products and service to numerous other home owners--no one has been disappointed.
