Went here to get an aftermarket radio installed along with new door speakers/ tweeters. They installed the door speakers which sound awful above half volume. I went to Best Buy and found out that Rays didn't install the cross overs. When I initially asked Rays what the issue was, they had suggested it was because I still have a stock amplifier. Wish a new amp was mentioned before an almost $1400 bill. Not to mention, the "2 hour" install took all day (10am - 7pm). If you're looking for a car audio installation, I recommend looking into Best Buy's Total Tech Support service. read more

ZERO STARS ! When this place was at Ray's Electronics, 19W326 Lake St, Addison, IL Inside looked like a flea market but my greeting from Ray was "Hi Buddy" come on in and will take care of you ,I Said well they been around for awhile and I didn't know where else to go . Had a pair of component speakers installed in my doors ,Took them 8 hours , They dropped and cracked my door panel . I got into my car noticed it right away , went right back told them about it and the owner Ray goes "You can Sue me" , Just straight out "Sue Me " He goes on to say ... "you won't win" , and then says "I always win" ,followed by "Many have tried and I always win" followed by "Ok Buddy" . A WTF! moment ! Has anyone ever heard such a thing . He didn't even deny they cracked the door panel . I just walked out and felt I was just in a "twilight zone" episode . At the very least it would have been nice to give the part of my door they cracked off back to see if I could somehow crazy glue it together . Now this is what I have been looking at for 7 years in the picture I have attached. I needed to replace my Cadillac Cue screen due to touch screen failure as a result of the delamination problem with cloudy screen with spider web pattern. They were able to install a replacement the same day I called for an appointment. Easy to work with and straight forward with a very reasonable fixed charge. They have pride in their work even with smaller jobs such as this. When I picked up my car at the end of the day they still wanted to give me a tour of their shop and the many custom projects they are working on. They relocated to 399 Wall St in Glendale Heights and is a family owned business for the last 40 years. If you want tints, speakers a new radio or expert advice this is the place to go. They were able to take care of me right away and finish the job in under two hours!!! It is by appointment only so I believe I was lucky calling on a Wednesday afternoon. I did stop by to get a quote for installation of a Subwoofer +Amp on my car. Intresting parking lot !!! Packed with luxury cars and I thought oh my that will be expensive .lool. Very professional Gentlemen named Sean did welcomed me at the time of enterance and I did explain exactly whats the projedt . He did check my equipment and did gave me three diffrent options . I agreed with one of them , he checked his calendar and gave me a date . Super straight forward process and no hidden fee or bad feeling on my part . BTW , the price tag was lower than 3 other shops that quoted me for same job. They use JL Audio equipment which are the top line of quality and i couldnt ask for anything better. Rays is a great place. They always take care of me. I've had interior and exterior LED's, a new head unit and remote start installed. I will be coming back to have them put in a back up camera. I think it's easy to have a bad experience when you're dealing with something as personal as your car, but I've had nothing but good experiences with Ray's. All I have to say is that I am super impressed by Shaun and his team. I always check out reviews and make sure to read the ones that actually received a service. My search began when my wife started complaining about the remote start not working on her BMW, we previously had it installed by ANOTHER shop and they had left wires hanging and clips on moldings broken. I made an appointment with Shaun and told him the problems I was experiencing, he did tell me to come in for a quote since there were some aftermarket parts already in there, completely understandable, since fixing someone else work is always the hardest. I was impressed with the showroom and how much of the product he had in stock. I was given a quote for almost $470 less than the other place I stopped by at, I left my car there that day and took an Uber home. They told me it would most likely take about 2 days with programming the car and making sure everything worked as it should. To our surprise they called the next day saying everything was finished and the car was ready for pickup. When my wife and I arrived it was like sitting in a different car, they had fixed all the mistakes and helped secure some panels that were previously damaged. Wife was thrilled about the remote starter working, and I was thrilled that it did not empty my wallet. Its been about a month and a half and everything works perfect. Thank you Shaun and your excellent team, we will be back soon with another car for you. Keep up the great work and customer service and you will keep on succeeding. If there was a zero star i would rate it zero. I called in asking for a price for LED headlights. I called earlier and i was quoted $125.00, when i called back i simply asked the guy the same question followed by what brand are they? He quoted me $175.00 and he had no clue the brand. I asked him why is the price different then when i called a few minutes ago. He became very rude and started raising his voice. When i asked why there was no branch and how do i know what i am paying for, he said what do you want me to do put a sticker on it that says Ray's so you know what your buying. Seeing the other reviews that are out there i would NOT recommend this place to anyone. They have a very bad personality.
