They quoted me $3,000 for the entire setup, and made me pay a non refundable 50% deposit ($1,500). It took about 2 weeks of them trying to get a date setup for me to actually bring the car in, so they can actually start the work on it. During those two weeks they kept saying "parts are still coming in and we are wrapping up another project currently". Boy was I in for a wild ride... Once the said "parts" came in, Brian (the owner) said that it would take two days for the install to be completed. TWO DAYS. Those two days turned into 2 weeks and I was pretty fed up because well, I didn't have my car for two whole weeks! I told Brian I had to get my car because It's been too long without it, and I couldn't keep getting rides from family members and friends to places... So after two weeks from October 27th, Brian said I could come pickup my car but it wasn't finished... First time seeing my car in two weeks, the sub and amp were installed but nothing was wired up, so I couldn't actually here it. The install did look very clean though I will give them that. Brian told me to come back a week later and he'll finish it up! "Okay no problem I said." I was very lenient and nice to him up until the last part, where he just needed to wire the sub and amp up. I CONSTANTLY called and messaged Brian almost everyday since I picked the car up, trying to figure out a day to bring my car in so he could wrap up the wiring and ect... This went on for a solid FOUR WEEKS... FOUR WEEKS BRO. I would call and text him "Hey, when I can come drop the car off to you so you can finish the install?" He would respond with: "Hey Tom, can you bring it next week Monday?" And I would say "Sure, no problem!". So we had a date set right? Yay!!! That Monday comes around and Brian calls me saying "Hey Tom, so I got caught up with some other work and we will have to move the date further..." "Okay... that's fine, what other day can we do then?". Brian says "Let's do next Wednesday for sure." I say "Okay cool sounds good! See you then." Can you guess what happened after that??? Yeah same sh*t... for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS he kept coming up with excuses upon excuses to keep pushing the date back. Come around to the final week (week 4) since I initially picked it up, roughly around November 13th, or 14th only half done, and he is still doing the same thing. Pushing the date back and coming up with excuses. I was EXTREMELY lenient and nice to him throughout this entire process until week 4... I'm not a mean guy by any means and I try to be nonchalant and very understanding, but holy cow I couldn't do it anymore with this place. I sent him a longgg message saying how unacceptable this is, and how unprofessional this is from a business stand point. He messaged me back saying how he's "very sorry" and promised that he'll get me in "next week" so that would be week 5 at that point. He even offered to comp the entire install so I wouldn't have to pay for anything. At this point, I did not want to even bring my car back to him, in fear that he would hold it hostage again for two weeks like he did before... I ended up going to another shop called "EPIC Garage" that was not too far from soundz. They finished up the wiring job in a few hours and it was working perfectly... Brian at Soundz couldn't fit me into his extremely busy schedule for a few hours? During those 4 weeks?!?! I don't get it... I know this is a huge review, and I could ramble on and on about this for days, but I'm gonna end it here by saying: Do not bring your car to Soundz Plus. I'm not sure what is going on with this company, but this was extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. It should not take that long to install a sub system especially when I paid a $1,500 deposit. *If you want a good, reputable garage, go to EPIC Garage in Sugar Grove, Illinois. As with all 2004 to 2009 Mercedes SL500's and SL600's I developed a problem with the Active Body…read moreControl System. Apparently there's a conversion kit to modify the suspension system eliminating the continues expensive repairs with the ABC System, but we're having trouble finding a power steering pump that controls just the power steering. There is one out there and he's working to find it. The factory installed tandem pump controls both the power steering and the ABC will burn out shortly if used on the conversion system. So, as a temporary bandaid, Kurt replaced the two bad gaskets affecting the ABS System for now and the trunk battery (which I was unaware was bad) with a new battery for a total of $700 which was shocking to me. I was expecting a bill of at least $1000. This was just a bandaid for now until we can find the proper pump, but Kurt is as honest as the day is long. He also did not charge me for diagnostic testing of the problem, which many shops do. I highly recommend!!

Where do I start. First off, this is not an actual repair business, or garage, at least not from…read morewhat I experienced. It seems like this 1 mechanic is using the name of VJS Auto and its reputation to lure customers into some side work. The phone number listed here goes straight to this guys cell phone. I talked to 1 person named "John" who now works out of his mother's garage. The address is no longer in West Chicago because he lost that location and is now working out of his mother's garage for side work in Wheaton. I made contact with John and he immediately said I could come to his house for a cheaper price. Confused at first but i went along. Once I got there I could tell this guy was a mess. The first immediate thing I noticed was the disarray of the garage. So many tools scattered everywhere the guy wasted so much time looking for what he needed. I came for some simple diagnostics on my door switch for my 2001 Lincoln Town Car. Before even getting into the diagnostics he proceeds to tell me every OTHER thing he thinks is wrong with my car. That's not what I came for. He was trying to upsell me on quick jobs he could do on the spot, like a tune up. I told him I'm a mechanic and i do all my own work so thank you but no thank you. I came for diagnostics so I could do the work myself. After about an hour of fiddling around in the fuse box he tells me he doesn't have his power probe so there wasn't much else we could do, fine. The next issue was him looking at the shifter cable. I ALREADY knew my shift cable was stretched and was delayed into switching gears. He then decides ok let's lift up the car and take a look. This man literally spent an hour trying to jack the car up on all 4, using 3 different sets of jack stands (He was trying to make the car level while raised in the air.) He did not know how to properly lift a car with air suspension and as a result, damaged my rear passenger air bag. He let the car down from the 4 corners when any REAL mechanic knows you have to lift an air suspension evenly, Or the bags will not sit back down properly, and that's exactly what happened. I was left with a sagging rear end all the way home. The next day I took it upon myself to check this guys work and find out what was going on. Like I said, he did not even know how to jack up a car with air suspension and as a result 1 air bag did not set properly and was left hanging, wedged in between the frame of the car. Luckily the bag did not puncture or rip. I re-seated the bag myself and then noticed the damage left on my rear driver trailing arm. Not only did he not know how to properly jack up the car, but he did not know the proper lift points resulting in a damaged trailing arm. This is what happens when you rest the weight of a car, onto a suspension part and not the frame. I have provided pictures in hopes that no one else is tricked into going to see this guy. Please be careful who you trust no matter how professional they APPEAR to be. Oh and he also suggested that I take my car to his "Job" so his boss could look at it instead. I thought this WAS your job! Needless to say I did nothing of the sort.
