They let the car leave their shop multiple times with bubbling and peeling. I recently made the mistake of brining my beater in for window tints which again required multiple returns to fix their work. They even left a huge LED lamp in my car and laminated a huge piece of lint between the tint film and window. If they missed a giant LED lamp in my car, imagine what else they missed! I had plans to do dash cams and remote starts on all my vehicles before winter but ABC Automative just isn't worth the time, energy, or frustration. REMOTE STARTERS for older AUDI's…read more I searched high and low for info on a remote starter for my B8.5 Audi RS5 (2014 V8 coupe) and found a lot of varying opinions and confusing comments. Most people swore you had to lose a key (read $300-600 extra expense) but others claimed not to lose a key. After personally messaging those who didn't lose a key I did some more research on-line and found... a local installer, Mobile Systems LLC of St. Charles, Illinois and talked to the owner, Jim, who confirmed he could and had installed remote starters in B8's without losing a key. There were a few options, but we went with the Fortin EVO-ONE (and their T-harness) connected to a Viper SmartStart app so I can avoid a fob or having to reach for my Audi key and have limitless range. Jim was flexible, understanding, and willing to answer all my many, many questions. I now can un-lock, lock, or start my car from anywhere (as long as I have wifi or LTE). I kept both my keys and am very happy. Only feature I lost is that if I use the remote start I then have to actually push the unlock button on my Audi key to get in as I approach, whereas before I could keep the Audi key in my pocket and unlock the door by grabbing the handle. I find this a small inconvenience to pay for security and a warm car in Chicago winters. The Viper app does require a subscription since it relies on an LTE service but has price rages/options ($6 or $10/month), with the basic service being free for a year. You can avoid a subscription if you don't mind using a fob or your Audi key but being limited by range. I went with the Viper app because it gives me a lot more feedback/options (yes, its started and running for x:xx minutes more; GPS tracking; and even scheduled start ups) and I can start the car from anywhere. They quoted me $3,000 for the entire setup, and made me pay a non refundable 50% deposit ($1,500). It took about 2 weeks of them trying to get a date setup for me to actually bring the car in, so they can actually start the work on it. During those two weeks they kept saying "parts are still coming in and we are wrapping up another project currently". Boy was I in for a wild ride... Once the said "parts" came in, Brian (the owner) said that it would take two days for the install to be completed. TWO DAYS. Those two days turned into 2 weeks and I was pretty fed up because well, I didn't have my car for two whole weeks! I told Brian I had to get my car because It's been too long without it, and I couldn't keep getting rides from family members and friends to places... So after two weeks from October 27th, Brian said I could come pickup my car but it wasn't finished... First time seeing my car in two weeks, the sub and amp were installed but nothing was wired up, so I couldn't actually here it. The install did look very clean though I will give them that. Brian told me to come back a week later and he'll finish it up! "Okay no problem I said." I was very lenient and nice to him up until the last part, where he just needed to wire the sub and amp up. I CONSTANTLY called and messaged Brian almost everyday since I picked the car up, trying to figure out a day to bring my car in so he could wrap up the wiring and ect... This went on for a solid FOUR WEEKS... FOUR WEEKS BRO. I would call and text him "Hey, when I can come drop the car off to you so you can finish the install?" He would respond with: "Hey Tom, can you bring it next week Monday?" And I would say "Sure, no problem!". So we had a date set right? Yay!!! That Monday comes around and Brian calls me saying "Hey Tom, so I got caught up with some other work and we will have to move the date further..." "Okay... that's fine, what other day can we do then?". Brian says "Let's do next Wednesday for sure." I say "Okay cool sounds good! See you then." Can you guess what happened after that??? Yeah same sh*t... for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS he kept coming up with excuses upon excuses to keep pushing the date back. Come around to the final week (week 4) since I initially picked it up, roughly around November 13th, or 14th only half done, and he is still doing the same thing. Pushing the date back and coming up with excuses. I was EXTREMELY lenient and nice to him throughout this entire process until week 4... I'm not a mean guy by any means and I try to be nonchalant and very understanding, but holy cow I couldn't do it anymore with this place. I sent him a longgg message saying how unacceptable this is, and how unprofessional this is from a business stand point. He messaged me back saying how he's "very sorry" and promised that he'll get me in "next week" so that would be week 5 at that point. He even offered to comp the entire install so I wouldn't have to pay for anything. At this point, I did not want to even bring my car back to him, in fear that he would hold it hostage again for two weeks like he did before... I ended up going to another shop called "EPIC Garage" that was not too far from soundz. They finished up the wiring job in a few hours and it was working perfectly... Brian at Soundz couldn't fit me into his extremely busy schedule for a few hours? During those 4 weeks?!?! I don't get it... I know this is a huge review, and I could ramble on and on about this for days, but I'm gonna end it here by saying: Do not bring your car to Soundz Plus. I'm not sure what is going on with this company, but this was extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. It should not take that long to install a sub system especially when I paid a $1,500 deposit. *If you want a good, reputable garage, go to EPIC Garage in Sugar Grove, Illinois. The install actually took all day, but even as the day got later, the guys said they would have my car ready even if they had to staying after closing. Once my car was ready, even though it was late, they showed me all there was to know about my new remote start and alarm and even let me play with it a bit before I left to get comfortable with it. Afterwards, I could tell why it took so long, because of all the thought and care it went into installing the system along with the detail to make sure everything works as expected and to make it as seamless as possible. While wanting to get a 12" sub installed, Justin noticed my oem battery was extremely old and also not pulling the right ample about of voltage. What does he do? Ordered me a replacement battery and installed it as well. This is the middle of winter, and boy was I glad he caught this for me. Talk about exceptional integrity. Moving onto the sub install - my car is a pain in the ass to install audio work in. Both Justin and I did not foresee this happening, however Justin took his time and made sure it was done and done right. After all was said and done, let me tell you - taking the long drive I do to come here, is worth it every single time. Time to come back with my bike in the spring.
